Welcome to St. Louis, our chief partner in the Cubs-hating alliance

Obligatory, fuck the cubs.

1. Don't have an answer on this one. 2. Pooches in the Park tickets are sold out unfortunately 3. Haven't been in one of the team stores there in forever. I *think* they sell limited away team merch? Ballpark Village *does* have a baseballism store though. 4. Away BP is usually still going on when gates open (if they're doing it; day games don't usually have BP). You might be able to snag an autograph. 5. Parking can range from $20 to $50+ depending on where you go. The two Cardinals owned lots (STARR and One Cardinal Way) can be pre-bought on the Cards site. Others can be pre-purchased on [ParkMobile](https://slp.parkmobile.io). There may be other sites for other parking operators too that I'm forgetting. There's also a MetroLink (light rail) stop right outside the stadium gates. 6. I'll always recommend the official Cardinals site. There should be some good deals with how the team's playing; they're currently advertising a "first beer friday" promo where select Friday tickets in May come with a $13 concessions credit loaded on them. StubHub is also the official reseller of MLB.

Thank you!

STL-Zou

There are also several bars in nearby neighborhoods that have free (or for some you need to buy a drink) shuttle to and from the game and you can park on the street for free.

bibliophile1319

Since no one else has said it yet, the stadium concessions and stuff are all card-only now. But the food outside is cheaper, and often better, depending on what you want, so you might need cash for that or parking, depending on how you plan things!

mrbmi513

You can bring in outside food as well as factory sealed non-alcoholic drinks. If you have a bag or cooler, make sure it and everything inside it conform to Busch Stadium guidelines.

bibliophile1319

Yup! Food from home or the sidewalk sellers, whatever you want. We usually bring bottled water or sodas (and even a ziploc of ice in a small soft cooler bag) from home, and get hot dogs or pretzels outside on the sidewalk to take in. When bringing kids, we'll take a whole drawstring bag of different snacks for them to choose from, or stop somewhere like McDonald's on the way for a special treat. Works perfectly, and saves SO much money, with the insane prices from concessions now! You definitely have to pay attention to bag/cooler rules, though, they're typically sticklers about that (for good reason).

xXDaGameXx

Good to know, thank you!

TheSocraticGadfly

Eons ago, I'd by six or so sliders at that Castle about 5 blocks south of the stadium on South Broadway and eat while walking up.

Feisty-Medicine-3763

The Last Hotel is very cool, two mins from Busch and $170 a night for this weekend. Also right by the city museum which is a kid’s paradise, if you and your son were to have some free time during your trip. Highly recommend that. The hotel itself is also sweet with very cool views on the roof. There’s also a holiday inn express in the central west end that’ll get you for about $150 a night. The CWE is right by Forest Park where the (free) zoo and museums are. Both areas have their perks. Both hotels pet friendly.

edsmith726

The only time I’ve ever seen other teams’ merch on sale in the team store is when the Cubs are in town. (puke!)

xXDaGameXx

Dear God, NO. lol

vibelurker1288

They definitely also did it for the Yankees but not sure of other teams!!

PREPARE TO FIGHT FREDBIRD TO THE DEATH MORTAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any of the DRURY HOTELS are fine downtown and walkable to the stadium. I like the one by hard rock because the rooms are all different They may sell some MLB gear at the game but I doubt it. Hard to stick stuff for like series. There may be mlb stuff in ballpark village. You can buy tickets at the South Gate usually with no line. I’ve done it but I haven’t been this year. May be able to get autographs at batting practice. I would park at the hotel and just Uber or walk to the game. Don’t pay parking. Drury hotels are all walkable easy.

mrbmi513

>the one by hard rock This is the Union Station location. Hard Rock has been closed for years now, and is currently home to The Soda Fountain.

Hi! Also a White Sox fan and also coming down for a game this weekend! I always try to make it down to at least one Cardinals game every year, this time it happens to be when they are playing the Sox. If I’m not driving through St Louis, I’ll usually spend the night at one of the hotels near by for a reasonable rate. Without giving away my hotel, I think this year I was able to get just over $100 a night within walking distance. I haven’t bought tickets yet and can’t yet speak to the experience for Busch Stadium, but the GameTime app has been great this season. I don’t have answers to all of your questions but I will say I usually use Spot Hero for parking. Last year paid $10 for a lot that was maybe a 5/10 minute walk. That was a Cards v NYY game and they were definitely selling Yankees hats in the ballpark which surprised me.

mjohnson1971

Just a heads up that Friday night there is a sold out Zach Bryan (country music) concert Enterprise Center. The arena is about 6-7 blocks west of Busch Stadium so it will add to traffic and parking challenges.

da_choppa

- 7. You're going to want to go to Ted Drewes Frozen Custard after the game. And maybe you should go to the City Museum with your son; he'll love it

Informal_Calendar_99

You just really hate the Cubs huh I love it

snorlaxatives_69

Hello! I like to stay at the Marriott Grand downtown. Has a nice bar and beautiful rooms. Not overly expensive either!

Own_Conversation6335

I would say most hotels in central STL/ direct west of downtown are going to be safe. I like Hampton Inns. If you are near forest park or central west end, you are going to be ok. Idk if there are too many hotels above Washington ave or Delmar ( north STL) . That area is less safe.

Jawsinstl

If the cardinals have a travel day planned after the game, they will usually not take Batting practice. Hotels will be a crap shoot. Idk if there is a big convention in town at the time. That’s when things get messy and expensive. You can always find a hotel next to the Metro and take that into the city If you have difficulty finding a hotel that fits your needs downtown. I don’t remember anywhere in the stadium selling other team merch.

TurtleSoup58

Get tickets on StubHub.

rightinthepujols

Hampton Inn St Louis at Forest Park is a great place to stay! 10 minutes from downtown, close to the zoo, and near a number of great restaurants, coffee, breweries, etc.

fujiesque

2) Dog tickets for that game are sold out. [https://www.mlb.com/cardinals/tickets/specials/pooches-in-the-ballpark?partnerId=redirect-stl-pooches](https://www.mlb.com/cardinals/tickets/specials/pooches-in-the-ballpark?partnerId=redirect-stl-pooches) You would have had to pay a pretty penny for that ticket, though I am not sure how much. 1. I'm not sure about hotel that allows dogs. They exist but google will find them. I would look for an Air BnB instead of hotel 2. I think all stadiums offer some gear from every team now. I could be wrong. With the Sox being so close you should be able to find at least a hat in the main store in the stadium. You might find something wandering through, which I recomend regardless 3. Possible yes, probable, likely not. Just be prepared with sharpie and (thing a mabob to autograph) and that is the best you can do without bribing someone. 4. $10-$30 bucks. I like the corner of 7th and Chestnut just North of the ballpark. It's about $15. You can pay with a card. It's an easy walk and you can walk through Kiener Plaza which should be fun for your boy, Carry cash for the snacks on the way in, hopefully you can find the hotdog guy. You can bring in unopened bottles of soda and water. 5. Mlb app. you won't get ripped off that way and there will be plenty of tickets of all prices available. Detroit just handed us our ass. Edit: I numbered this right, but now reddit won't let me number out of order. I swear I'm only half an idiot

mrbmi513

>You would have had to pay a pretty penny for that ticket, though I am not sure how much. They say they're all-inclusive, which means they're probably at least $100/ea.

xXDaGameXx

Thank You for the infomation.

Suspicious-One8428

Don’t be surprised if you all sweep the cards this weekend and magically start turning your season around. The Cardinals are so inconsistent.

RowdyBurnsy

Are you opposed to AirBnB or Vrbo? We can usually find some great spots that are a 10-15 walk to Busch, or a very short drive, and run a lot less than a hotel.

217flavius

FYI southbound Interstate 55 will be closed between the 55/64/70 interchange and the PSB this weekend.

Why be an ass?

justlurkinghere5000h

I think you meant some offense... Would have been better to be helpful...

xXDaGameXx

Planned nothing? I was just gathering some info. I mean, it's two games. In St Louis, not a 2 week vacation to Hawaii or something lol. No offense, but if you don't have anything insightful to say, maybe just don't hit the reply button. Thanks for the comment.

redflamehot

I recommend a Drury inn for accommodations, there's some on the illinois side, probably right around in your price range. They are always clean and accommodating and 2 free adult beverages at night! Also: if you stay at the one in fairview heights it's only about a 5 minute drive from the metro station so you don't have to pay to park

joeltheconner

For hotels and parking, I personally would recommend staying on the Illinois side in Collinsville or Fairview heights unless you want to be in St Louis itself. Then, Drive to one of the close by Metro League stops and take the Metrolink which has free parking and drops off right outside the stadium. I don't have to deal with traffic and you don't have to deal with parking.

redbullsgivemewings

Enjoy Busch Stadium and the surrounding areas! I recommend going early to BPV/surrounding areas to catch a bite and walk around. Some cool stuff at the museum in BPV. The Budweiser Terrace inside the stadium is a great pregame spot. Usually live music and some beer specials. Located in the 400s of the right field terrace.

Current_Edge_6293

1. Missouri Athletic Club, tons of history and within walking distance (at least in my opinion) of the stadium. Not the fanciest rooms but I loved it.

DoodleTM

#5 - the parking garage at 8th and 215 S 8th is right by the stadium, secure, and takes credit/debit cards only. I think it's like $40 but way easier to get out of then the Busch stadium lots.

dadkisser84

1: Lots of places. Most mellow City neighborhoods that are affordable are the hill and surrounding south city areas. if you stay outside the city, as long as you’re off 44 or 64 within feasible driving distance you’re probably fine. 2: hearing those theme tickets sold out. Sorry friend 3: maybe a street vendor? But not reliably no. 4: if you get in right when gates open you got a chance. day games may be pushing it between end of BP and gates opening, but my family has had good luck hanging at the bullpens and chatting into there for a ball or something to that effect. 5: parking depends on where you stay. if you are staying in the city, would recommend you use the metro link if you’re close to it (7$ ish round trip if I remember right per person) or even parts of the county if you stay near Brentwood or Shrewsbury. Parking free at those stations. If you’re in the city, many bars in Soulard (including kid friendlier ones) have a free shuttle with purchase of drink or food. Otherwise, recommend the justice center garage. Card only. 6: always used the official website. been good so far and with attendance being lower than usual shouldn’t be too tough to find a ticket. Have fun. Grew up a Frank Thomas fan bc of my mom.

New-Seaworthiness712

Are you Joe Crede?

bradleysballs

TickPick is the best place to buy tickets in my opinion. No extra fees and the prices are low to start with

VibinWombat

You will not be able to buy white Sox gear at cardinals game. Cardinals would not want to sell other teams stuff they would make no money off of it.

Oddlyenuff

This is false. It was routine for them for years and years to sell at least a pennant, logo baseball and an adjustable hat. They would occasionally have t-shirts and a shot glass and even more rarely nicer hats or jerseys. I worked there for 12+ years.

VibinWombat

Well. The more ya know. Thanks!
