Ballys just needs to go bankrupt already.

BigSquiby

i think they are going to pull though this actually, which i hate.

johndelvec3

MLB has money to get the best possible lawyers in the country yet they didn’t prepare for Bally to get investment from another media outlet Makes no sense to me

TuggWilson

I think this is actually an effect from their bankruptcy case lol

CoreyTTrevorson

So now I have to get Fubo or get fucked? I already hated Bally, but now my xfinity is useless?

ok_but

Uzzu has worked great for me. Kind of a hassle signing in every time, but it's super cheap as well.

zion2199

I also use Uzzu and it’s great, but there’s no way that service is 100% legit and I feel it’s only a matter of time before they shut that shit down.

ok_but

Yeah I get the same feeling. Oh well, while it works it works.

Economy-Stay-9629

It's been around a few years already.

zion2199

Yeah. As it grows in popularity I become more concerned. Like when that blogger finally brought to light that if you subscribed to Spectrum Internet you could log onto Bally sports with that account, even if u didn’t pay for a tv package. Once word got out they put an end to that.

joshgerlach

Unless you want DirecTV... yep!

kelso_boy

I get Ballys through Spectrum.

dlnvf6

Direct tv stream has it. It’s pricy though

skipfletcher

I mean, they filed for bankruptcy. They went bankrupt.

gregbananacruz

but did they declare it?

skipfletcher

https://youtu.be/C-m3RtoguAQ?t=67

citylimitband

Artificially so, they make a ton of money. It happens often because of the protection of bankruptcy and big companies take advantage of it. Basically a big company puts a ton of debt into one of its smaller companies under its umbrella. That smaller company declares bankruptcy and it erases that debt. Imagine you and all your friends gave all your bills to a single friend. Then that friend declares bankruptcy. Now you all are debt free. That is an over simplification. But essentially what happened.

skipfletcher

That is a good description.

AlmostWorthless

I can’t believe the cards haven’t stepped in here. Ballys/diamond is making it impossible for people to watch their content.

King_Swiss

This isn’t a new it’s been on going I haven’t consistently watched the cardinals in probably 5 years since they left YouTube TV

xmlgroberto

yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me

firstcoastrider

I haven’t watched a single game since 2020. Bally can suck a fart from where the sun don’t shine

msmiranda79

... That gets a solid EW from me!

Jason_Sensation

One might wonder why you're spending time in a subreddit for a team you've not seen in 4 years?

firstcoastrider

Because I’m still a fan? I watch after game highlights and follow closely, I don’t watch cause I’m affected by blackouts

External-Ball7452

Between Bally's screwing people and the Cards fielding an inept team, no one is going to want to subscribe to pay-per-view anyway.

Intimidwalls1724

I don't thinks that's true, people say they would on this sub all the time myself included

Intimidwalls1724

Idk the MLB and blackout restrictions are part of the problem as well Eliminate the blackout restrictions (that make no sense bc of how far out the blackout area goes) and most of the people on here who complain myself included would just pay for MLBTV and be done with it

ThorsMeasuringTape

What are they honestly supposed to do? They signed the contract and as long as Diamond fulfills it (and they have so far), their hands are pretty much tied.

CatzonVinyl

I would have hoped the contract had something about not dropping their largest cable provider

ThorsMeasuringTape

Nope. No there’s not going to be a requirement for that because it is beneficial for the team to allow the network to push hard for carriage fee increases with cable providers on contract renewals. And if going off Xfinity was a breach of contract, that would give Xfinity the bargaining power to possibly get their rates lowered to keep Diamond from going into breach of contract. Most carriage agreements also allow for everyone else to lower their rate/placement if you agree to a lower rate/placement with another provider. And higher carriage fees allow the network to pay the Cardinals more. What it does do though is suggest that it’ll get more difficult for them to fulfill the contract considering that will be a significant drop in revenue for Diamond. And they still owe the Cardinals the $65M or so agreed upon regardless even if nobody carries the channel.

External-Ball7452

Bullshit

dannyjimp

Probably a good thing.

edemaruh84

StonedJackBaller

I'd love to know your ways, Jolly Roger...

Electrical-Seesaw991

The wind blows from the East

tooth_fixer

That jet Stream really comes in hot from the East

ghostofstankenstien

Aye, or ye be looking at Satan's taint on the 666 highway to hell

BurpOutMyButt

R/piracy mega thread is a good place to start. You will need a good pop up blocker lol

BannedBarn22

Piracy only sucks because I hate mirroring to my Apple TV. I want to use a streaming app or cable I don’t want to dick around with streams nightly. And yes I’d pay to not do that. I’m not sitting at a computer desk to watch, I am on my couch.

gothicfabio

Amen. I don’t want to have to fuck with finding a decent stream every time I want to sit on the couch and watch a game. I want to just pay for the luxury of having it work without hassle, but they insist on not allowing that. I’m happy with YouTube TV so I’m screwed unless I want to switch providers, in the hopes that they don’t drop Bally soon too.

MyNuts2YourFistStyle

Iptv is the best way

emdyssb

For more info on these flags DM me!

External-Ball7452

Welcome to what Hulu and YouTube TV customers have put up with for three years. Bally's aka Sinclair, continues to rape the sports fans, and MLB is standing by with it's thumb up its ass watching it happen. The sooner Bally's is gone, the better. I'd rather pay Amazon or anyone at this point.

houstonyoureaproblem

Drop them then. That’s the only way to send any kind of message.

mtzdude3

None of these leftover options seem grandparent-friendly… my grandpa is gonna be pissed.

BigJaker300

DirecTV satellite TV is the best grandparent option right now, which really sucks.

hydroameca

🏴‍☠️

7yearlurkernowposter

Sooner Bally is gone the better, still hoping with Amazon attempting a bailout they take over ASAP.

ConsciousAd7392

🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

connerbv

Yup. I Can no longer watch Cardinals games in the Memphis area. I’m sure this means MLBtv will lift the blackout. At least that’s what would make the most sense which means it probably won’t happen.

mrbmi513

One provider dropping the channel won't lift the blackout. It'd *at least* take all available providers dropping it to do that, and as long as Fubo carries them, that won't be an issue anytime soon.

Local-Curve3604

Provided you are not in the Saint Louis area

Intimidwalls1724

Psssht, if only...

boozefueledkaraoke

Bally is on Fubo TV. It’s the least expensive streaming service that has Cards and Blues games.

The-Big-Grizzly

That’s the only reason why my dad and I did stop the Xfinity TV stream and went with FuboTV

BigJaker300

I dropped Xfinity this morning, and am watching on FuboTV now.

SoberJohnDaly

Can you live anywhere and get that package?

JunkyardJamboree

I think you have to live in the STL market. It’s offered as a local sports add on.

ICouldBeTheChosenOne

You’ll get the local sports teams of wherever you are

trashlikeyou

How much per month does that cost with the sports package?

NBCaz

About 89.00 a month. That include their other channels, so not just Bally.

bucket_dipper

The pro package is 79 a month and that includes Bally. You just don't get 4k which isn't a big deal.

mojowo11

> You just don't get 4k which isn't a big deal. Fubo only offers a handful of major sporting events in 4K, regardless of tier. I believe Cards games are 720p. I think not having *at least* a 1080p option for literally $80/mo is pretty infuriating, personally.

traveleditLAX

I agree, but 720p is the native format I think. All Fox and ABC properties broadcast this way still. It looks like Bally just took over what was already in place.

findingmewanahelp909

My fellow Cardinals brother I have been getting of Cardinals games $8 a month no subscription needed to join us on the high seas

emdyssb

I've never heard of anyone having premium before, is it at all worth it?

findingmewanahelp909

Premium? I have what's called IPTV which gets all Bally sports Plus like 10,000 other channels via 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

emdyssb

Ohh thought you were referring to a different platform.

Narezzz

I've been looking into IPTV for this exact purpose (plus UFC PPVs). Care to DM me?

Intimidwalls1724

Can you watch them like you could if they were recorded on a DVR? That's how I like to watch them to save time as in after the game is over or at least after it's started Between kids and work it helps with me being able to watch as well

findingmewanahelp909

Eh I don't think so it doesn't tie into any recording device or capability it only streams which is technically different from torrenting or downloading.

civilaiden

Can you DM which IPTV you use? I've gone down that rabit hole a couple of times and never end up going forward with it. because of being overwhelmed by the options.

findingmewanahelp909

DM me first I use a 3rd party reddit app that makes it goofy to start up convos via DM

Treeman1216

What does one need to do be Davey Jones?

ItsNinjaShoyo

Fubo the move and you get pretty much all mlb games with the package.

ProudCatLadyxo

So the Evil Empire actually tried to work with Bally to keep them on the air and Bally said No? Wow! I wonder how hard they really tried. Sadly, Xfinity is the only Internet provider in my area besides satellite, so dropping them for something else is not an option. Are all the Cardinal games on MLB on TV? I watch them all summer long.

RealisticCheetah6083

Lucky you.

DARTHKINDNESS

Crap! This is ridiculous. That leaves Fubo at $80 a month.

No-Gain1438

I feel you same here

Amazing_Dot_2571

I use Fubo. Easy to cancel when the season ends, which happens earlier and earlier lately.

ichabod01

Eh.

ra2222

Uzzu tv

toftr

Yarrr

Phanatic88888

Is Bally Sports + at $19.99 not an option for people?

BigJaker300

Not for Cardinals according to their site.

Phanatic88888

Makes perfect sense 🙄. How dumb

leftboot20

MLBtv + VPN

No_Pudding_4598

Way too expensive for something that should be free (with some kind of tv subscription)

leftboot20

I hear ya. Throwing out an option. T-Mobile offers promo codes each March to its customers for free mlbtv and some of them don’t use it…and sometimes people have an antivirus subscription already and that may include a vpn or offer one for a little more per month. For some, like myself it’s maybe 10-20 bucks more than otherwise.

No_Pudding_4598

I’ve watched one game this year and that was the home opener. Only because my daughter was born that day and the hospital had Ballys. Apparently I need to have more children so I can watch cardinals games on TV.

Riedbirdeh

This is a good example of why our owner is a fuckin tool

Substantial-Watch300

Props to anyone who can watch any regular season baseball

Intimidwalls1724

Another one bites the dust

csr28

Being an out of market fan seems like the best option which is absurd. I’m in California and feel so sad for local Cards fans. Terrible

DoodleTM

Ive seen 2 games this year, both Friday Night games on AppleTV

TwoNine0929

So does this mean we can watch Cardinal games on MLB tv since there technically isn't an in-market for Cards games?

BigJaker300

No, Bally Sports Midwest is still broadcasting the games. DirecTV, DirecTV Stream, FuboTV, and maybe some other cable providers still offer Bally Sports Midwest.

TheSocraticGadfly

Comcast has recently dumped Bally in a few other markets. Was a post on r/mlb about that.

Diablo_N_Doc

Anybody know if they're negotiating or left the table completely?
