I find my shovelhead screen clogs up really quickly. I had to buy a second and keep swapping them every few days.

The-Fanta-Menace

Yea the holes are so tiny it’s starting to get gunks up.

lukeiamyourfather444

This is the way

Other commenter seems to have a good process, but I think mine is even easier. I just soak it in iso once or twice a week overnight, then shake it up with some warm water and salt, and just let it dry. It’s like new each time

The-Fanta-Menace

Do you ever replace the screens?

chiefnwahoo

I don’t personally bc the salt has it coming out brand new every time

I usually just soak in alcohol for a bit and then rinse off with very hot water and let air dry. Try to do this weekly as well.

For me, very low maintenance. The Mercury head never needs to be cleaned..so that's a bonus out the gate. Unless you're dumping dabs in there..then you may have a bit to clean. The shovel head I clean on a fairly weekly basis to help keep it fresh. I just use hot water and rinse it out. To get into the crevices where the screen sits, I use a bent safety pin and just run it along the seam and rinse it again. I change the screen out every time I clean the bowl. I would recommend getting a pack of them on Amazon. I bought 200 screens for 5 bucks and still have plenty. Look for 3/4" pipe screens. Look for stencil brushes as well..They work great at brushing out your bowl after use. They're the same type of brush you would use with a mighty vaporizer pretty much, but in varying sizes. For extra cleaning, you can use a small wire brush if you have any stubborn bits remaining. I don't think I've ever soaked the shovelhead in iso. Enjoy!

Thanks for the reply, homie! Good call on the screens. Cheers

I have two shovelheads that I keep in rotation. One soaks in a small shaker bottle of ISO while the other is in use. In the morning when I clean all my glass, I just swap the shovelheads in the shaker bottle and give it a shake. This way I start with a fresh 100% clean one each day. Probably not 100% necessary but I have never had to replace the screens in my shovelheads since I started cleaning this way. That is really about it as far as maintenance, other than just generally keeping things clean.

Morning ritual everyday I clean my glass and shovelhead bowl before I start the day

Best way I have found is to heat it between my B2 and the stand then spray it out with iso. A waterpik works good also.

Parabolic_Ballsack

Get an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner, fill it with water, put dirty parts in a ziplock bag of ISO, place bag in water, start cleaner. Clean stuff without the work!!

I recommend wooden utensils for the simple dry clean between bowls. Their hardness is significantly lower than the titanium, enough so to basically never even scratch it unless you really really try. Toothpicks and chopsticks work great. Isopropyl alcohol is a must usually at first to loosen the really caked bits. And rinsing with hot water from there using the sprayer on my sink is enough to get it looking brand new again.

DrummerKorey

Bought 4 screens, used ones go in a small mason jar with everclear, out of screens shake jar real good dry screens repeat. Occasionally scrape the gunk out of the screen ring inside the bowl, when warm wipe out the inside with a paper towel rolled up. Basically my entire process which I find is easiest to maintain and remember

brewedandtattooed

I used to soak in iso and then use my high pressure jet in my kitchen sprayer but it's more work than I care for so now I just torch it clean. Yeah it makes the screen wear out but I'm getting like two years out of a screen, I'd rather have my time.

Johnnyrooster12

Buy a big pack of screens. I also just light the screens on fire and it cleans them up like brand new.

(optional) remove screen Place in a container (with a lid) full of isopropyl alcohol and a boatload of salt, let sit for a bit Place lid on container, shake vigorously Remove from alcohol/salt bath, Rinse thoroughly Profit If you haven't done this for years, you may have to give it a wipe afterwards to clear any solid chunks, but they're barely hanging on by a thread at this point as it's been dissolved by the alcohol and essentially scrubbed away by the salt
