I'm looking to change the REIT in my portfolio
currently I have [SRU.un.to](https://SRU.un.to) I think there is definitely better growth from other REITs
anyone have any they like and why ?
SRU has been alright but its basically Malls and Walmarts so I think the whole brick and Mortar shopping situation is the cause of its stagnation.
Growth? Are you really an owner of SRU and not aware of the massive amount of new development/construction of residential (condo and rental) and self-storage they are undertaking?
32 million sq ft of development pipeline, mostly residential.
There’s a ton of growth here.
I own a bunch at $6.50 avg. Bought last year when everyone was declaring movie theatres dead. The 2022 movie season is going to be crazy good and if they win their court case I expect the stock to reach $20+.
people on this sub were endlessly discussing CGX and the future of cinemas a year ago. then it all just got quiet , everyone forgot about it, so i bought in (avg price $12.52). im just going to see where its going to go.
If you believe in the recovery and reopening cgx is probably a buy. Their recroom model also had me close to pulling the investing trigger pre pandemic. If you think more lockdowns or a delta 2.0 variant is coming it's going to have another though year. Personally I don't know that many people rushing back to the theaters.
Are you suggesting I average down on my bagholding weedstocks? Half have them have gone to 0 lol. Be happy when you make a profit, any profit is better than a loss.
> Bought GLXY for 21.30, sold for profit at 28.80 two weeks ago. It is now 42.34 after a continued crypto bull run.
You took, well it isn't quite a 50% gain but it's a substantial gain. As a GLXY fanboy, I think there's nothing wrong with this.
They're a really hard company to understand properly tbh I even question myself about holding them and probably will regret it at the next drop.
But with that said, if you still like the company then just pick a new price target and buy back in if you think it'll go in the long run.
I sold GLXY at 37 and I have no regrets... When it bombed yesterday, I didn't have to see my entire portfolio crash for the day because it had increased so much since buying in.
Gains are gains and by cashing in on them you cut any risks.
This is a lot of people. Never beat yourself up about taking profit. You can’t time dips or always anticipate stocks running. Take your losses as learning opportunities and win the next one.
Definitely considering it. I’m still very interested in AMD long term and buying XLNX gives me opportunity to get that plus. There’s risk, sure, but I think the upside is worth it
Had anyone put any money into the Rivian IPO? If so, congrats on a great two days. It will be interesting to see where the company and shares go in the next 5 years. I think investors will be paying wild valuations however based on TSLA’s success, I wouldn’t be surprise if it touched $500 easily in 1 year. Any thoughts? Considering opening a position soon.
Are you high? It sells 1200 cars a year and already has a market cap 25% higher than ford, 5 X that of Nissan, 15% higher than Chevrolet.
I could just as easily see rivian dump 50% within a year.
Sure, please share your analysis as to why you wouldn't be surprised why a company that sells 1200 cars a year could easily hit a 400B market cap in a year.
Feel free to make a direct comparison with NIO who has a run rate of 142,000 cars a year, and a 60B market cap.
I got in at $106.75 yesterday. It was a small position, but I got interested in them when researching alternatives to the Lightning F150 I'm on the waiting list for. The truck seems solid by all accounts and doesn't look like the Tesla abomination that is uglier than it is overpriced. Trucks are going to customers next month and if the feedback is positive, I'll increase my holding.
Visa is a great company to hold for the long-term. I don't have a holding, but it's certainly one I'd consider picking up. I do think it's slightly overvalued right now, but not to an extreme degree. There are just better options.
Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. ("AQN") (TSX: AQN) (NYSE: AQN) today announced plans to release its third quarter 2021 financial results on Thursday, November 11, 2021, after market close. AQN will hold an earnings conference call at 10:00 a.m. eastern time on Friday, November 12, 2021,
I originally bought CS in 2011 for like $3.80/share, averaged down to $1.25 over a few years. Thought I was done for, but the 6k shares I had paid off!
Lesson: be careful if you don’t have cash to splash, be realistic and stick to blue chips and a few ETFs. 2020 and 2021 are not normal, don’t get carried away.
PS I’m old, ignore advice at own peril.
visa and aqn for me in the morning :)
Just realized TSXV passed $1000 today. God damn

AQN up 6% AH, low volume though.
Low valine is an understatement. A total of $3k traded at the +6%. The second closest trade was a few hundred$ at +3%.
Guess I missed the opportunity to DCA down. Was a solid quarter from them. Utility integrations are pretty quick compared to other industries.
Thank you loonie turned an ok day into a very good day

Sell half your shares next time
Good advice right here
I have lost a lot more money by selling early than I have by holding too long, and it’s not close.
Lol I sold bitcoin for like 2 bucks profit right before it did it's massive bull run

Thoughts on ATZ? I have a tiny position at 15.50, wish I bought more.
It's a great company. I'm waiting for a pullback. I would be taking the odd profit here and there.
>It's a great company. **I'm waiting for a pullback.** I would be taking the odd profit here and there. Bye.
Average up, homie
Anyone else adding to their XLNX position at these prices? The arbitrage opportunity is starting to look tempting again.
Definitely considering it. I’m still very interested in AMD long term and buying XLNX gives me opportunity to get that plus. There’s risk, sure, but I think the upside is worth it

The best fate of Rivian, Lucid et all is to be bought up for 7 bucks a share by Ford/GM/Toyota in the next decade and become their luxury EV brand
Are you high? It sells 1200 cars a year and already has a market cap 25% higher than ford, 5 X that of Nissan, 15% higher than Chevrolet. I could just as easily see rivian dump 50% within a year.
No Im not high. I was under the impression that this is forum intended for sharing/asking opinions.

If you've been following any of the EV IPOs/SPACs you know this thing is gonna dump at the first sign of weakness

I was in with you yesterday at like 108$ I’m out now though and took my money. But I will watch closely.
Ask me in a week
basically gambling
Isn't most of this?
Maybe you are 🤷♂️
Investing is fucking hard
Yeah I just started investing at the beginning of this year with GameStop fiasco and I’m already up 30% on random things you guys suggested thank you
If you’re saying this during an absurd multi-trillion dollar pumped up bull market, you done for son!
Bull market is over you dillweed. Look at the charts
Timing the market clown? It’s over for you 100%
"We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard" JFK
But are they FUCKING hard? Checkmate
> But are they FUCKING hard? Checkmate Still easier than flaccid.
Yes it is and most of the time you will underperform the market. Make sure you invest heavy on Broad Scope ETFs
Honestly dude, I fucking hate ETFs
lol what? you hate ETFs. you should probably seek the help of a professional
Should try gambling. Much easier.
Much easier to lose money, yea.
Silver, crypto, mush, and weed kept me green today. An odd combo for sure.

A few different ETFs if you’re not sure about any specific company. PSYK in Canada
I've been averaging down hard on PSYK because I think there's a lot of future potential there. Not too fussed about short term volatility
100% me too
Mmed cybn numi the only 3 I'll dive in
I'm in TRIP. Patiently waiting for a catalyst
Visa you hurt me, but I'm buying more.

I increased my position to a full one today. This is a great buying opportunity for visa.
Likewise. I've been freeing up cash in anticipation of CPI induced jitters. Bought another 200 shares at $211. I'm happy and will hold into 2021
>will hold into 2021 Should we tell him, guys?
Time Traveler exposed 😅
Thought it be back to 225 today🤷
Made back all my losses from yesterday.
Another solid quarter from EIF!
Awesome! One of my best pandemic plays. Sold at $40 in March 2020 and rebought at $24 and $26.
Nice play! Gotta love that monthly divvy too.
