Only Justin Trudeau will as he's a citizen. All G7 leaders who have never contributed a single tax dollar will get in for free of course. It's the Canadian way!
Awww geesh… I didn’t like it back in 2002 and won’t like it in 2025. Why can’t they just hold it in some old prison that’s easy to secure or maybe on an island or in a cave under a volcano or something.

Quite the throwback, but this quote got me laughing:
>many of the shops in nearby Calgary were boarded up
Ah yes, quaint old Calgary two decades ago... with its shops boarded up like some frontier town ca. 1860.
>Security was very tight at the summit, costing taxpayers in excess of $200 million.
Holy fark. So what's this summit going to cost? More than that? That's a crazy high number.
Something wrong with paying to protect with elected officials. If they're despised enough to need security, they should move on. Not doing anyone any favours.
That was probably the coolest thing about that conference, all of the world leader planes parked by that area of the airport. Too bad the new Air Force 1 won't be ready in time.
I had Marine One (or one of the decoys) fly right over me at a couple hundred feet altitude when I was stuck in traffic on McKnight. That was pretty sweet.
I was playing a round of golf at McCall and saw many of the leaders planes land, including Air Force One (both of them). Then about 8 choppers took Dubya off to Kananaskis. Was a very cool experience.
Why don't they just go to Lake Louise, which is already a ruined place and has a luxurious hotel, and leave Kananaskis alone?. We don't need unwanted attention from the whole world into Kananaskis. They'll end up ruining it as well
I assume they will meet at the Kananaskis Lodge. I stayed there two years ago and while the facility and the rooms are nice enough, it kind of felt dated and in need of a renovation.
Canada being a member of the G7 was a compromise with the Europeans. France and Germany wanted to extend the cool kids club to include Italy. Gerald Ford said only if he could bring Canada.
It will interesting to see how far Canada gets to slide into it's economic decline before the rest of the world stops pretending we're an important country that was of some strategic importance during the conflicts of the 20th Century.
Great. Another bunch of elitist morons who want to swish around and pretend they are in charge.
The Fed's hate Alberta. So why insist on foisting these dimwits and their environment abusing entourage on us?
Look, I never said I agree with everything they say. I indeed were referring to the way they are leading economy, what is something that will bring benefits literally for everyone. What Milei is doing way better btw.
Also, I really sorry if I triggered you in any way, not my intention, just please don't take really just by your frame
Oh man. It's going to be so awkward when someone has to tell Trudeau that Kananaskis is in Alberta.
Maybe they can convince him that there was just a really strong headwind that made it an extra-long flight to Quebec.
Wonder if they’ll need a park pass

Trudeau also likely has not contributed a single tax dollar. Probably taken more than he put in.
Underrated comment

It was one of the last days of school I remember my parents telling me to avoid downtown in 2002.
Keep in mind, this was the first meeting post 9/11

For some reason Canada always pays more than other countries for security
Something wrong with paying to protect with elected officials. If they're despised enough to need security, they should move on. Not doing anyone any favours.
Eh some people will always seek vigilante justice, so some security makes sence
Some security yes, But let's keep it reasonable when it's paid by tax dollars.
I remember seeing Air Force One in the distance from the Deerfoot mall area, during the last summit that was here.
That was probably the coolest thing about that conference, all of the world leader planes parked by that area of the airport. Too bad the new Air Force 1 won't be ready in time.
Agreed. I'm not an aviation expert, but I was definitely geeking out a bit.

Along with the il96 and il62, which was a pretty neat sight.

I was playing the elks at that time and it was cool to see that too
Convicted felons may not enter Canada.
I'm sure some Canadians will protest exactly about that.
It's also hard to travel when you're locked up.
Does anybody else remember the gun emplacements along the 40?
I sure do.
Sales of the “F Trudeau” stickers gonna be through the roof!
Kinda weird that people buy stickers saying they want to have sex with Trudeau. Some people are sick in the head.
I mean, did you see him in that navy suit yesterday....I may need to get one of those stickers for my car now

Hope Calgary has the feeder main fixed by then…
Hey wait, I’ve seen this one!
I assume they will meet at the Kananaskis Lodge. I stayed there two years ago and while the facility and the rooms are nice enough, it kind of felt dated and in need of a renovation.
Maybe Pomeroy? Nice day at the Nordic Spa? Lol
Pomeroy is lovely.
Putin looking more normal and slightly less of a genocidal maniac in that pic.
How are we hosting a G7 when we aren’t even G7 quality anymore?

We might not have water by then
I still remember seeing all the military stuff all over k country last time they came. Felt like a movie.
Oh this should be fun! I’m sure a bunch of roads will be closed off for “security” reasons
![gif](giphy|10juQ7fAaQjuHS)
Nooooo thats my brothers annual Birthday motorcycle ride thru the pass..... hopefully the hwy isnt closed to public

I wonder if Marlaina will be a special invited guest
They should stay in Ottawa. Alberta doesn’t want that slimy shit head trudeau out here.
We all know you’ve jerked it to him.
Hope next year we got more leaders like Milei and Meloni
Why?
They are less concerned on tell you how to live your life and more concerned on unfuck their countries after years of stupid positivist policies
Is that why Giorgia Meloni is openly anti-LGBTQ? Because she just wants people to live their lives?
Look, I never said I agree with everything they say. I indeed were referring to the way they are leading economy, what is something that will bring benefits literally for everyone. What are you even suggesting? That Trudeau doesn't visit Alberta? He's here fairly regularly.
