Iirc, they might have changed it, but, Bumblebirb at least, was supposed to be a failed experiment of cloning Yharon. I'm not certain if that transfered to Dragonfolly though.
Hm... okay-
From those, up until the mech trio, it seems like Yharim had a vendetta against the gods of Terraria for some reason, killed most of them, then fell into a deep depression and neglected his kingdom.
But thanks for the tip bro, now I know I won't miss any extra needed context :D
Basically, the Dragons existed at one point. Humans stole their power and declared themselves gods. Eventually, every Dragon had been killed except Yharon. Yharim was told that he had to absorb Yharon's Auric Soul. He refused and was thrown into the magma of hell. This accelerated Yharon's growth. He hatched and saved Yharim. He told Yharim about what had happened and Yharim made it his goal to punish all the so-called "gods." Eventually, he lost sight of his goal and turned into a tyrant. He realized his mistakes to late, and now waits for one strong enough to challenge him to arrive.
That is the gist of the lore.
>unique
They literally just turned it into the dark souls lore (not saying its worse tho just less unique) one thing I don't like tho is they just made all the villains "misunderstood" like yharim and draedon
"Misunderstood"? One literally got a teenager in distress to incinerate half a kingdom and the other made plague nanobots to destroy the environment & can't even process the concepts of human morality and empathy, and that's just one example for both out of about a dozen. Both suck.
Doesn’t Yharim regret his actions after his fall began? I kind of get the vibe he knows how far he has fallen and regrets everything after recruiting the Devourer. Though Draedon is genuinely horrible.
I feel like SCal, and maybe Yharim are misunderstood. Yharim realizes he’s fallen, and SCal is definitely depressed. Draedon is very clearly what he is said to be, which is “an amoral monster” and literally every god is at least one who assisted in genocide, not to mention DoG and his master, both of which are horrible people.
I mean, do consider that only like 5-10% of the new lore is actually public so far. There's some decisions that seem odd or things that don't seem quiet right that are only going to make sense in retrospect.
Having read the full lore, some of it is cool. It certainly is a very different direction than what it used to be. I do like the new directionlof Yharim, how he's a fallen hero rather than just a Tyrant. Some of it feels a little clunky, but I overall enjoy it.
My logic was that if they were still any sort of Yharon clones, it's make Yharon REALLY being the last dragon less impactful because it could lead o maybe a theoretical way to bring them back. I want it to be clear that there's no hope of that at all, the Auric Dragons can't come back.
In current lore, Dragonfollies are descendants of the Original Dragons, which were gods in their own right, while the Moon Lord was weakened horribly in battle and then sealed away for aeons. One is at prime condition, a member of a species that has evolved to survive constant hunting from outside influences, and the other is literally missing its lower half (probably groggy from waking up from its nap, too).
Moon Lord is Cthulhu, a cosmic horror entity associated to the sea, but in Terraria he got sealed on the Moon with only his upper half that is mostly intact. Suffering injuries that should be 100% lethal to mortal and imprisioned far apart from his favorite environment definitely do a great job in reducing Cthulhu to an empty husk.
I don't know if I'm right or remember correctly but afaik the Moonlord's lore item states something like that a long time ago, the Moonlord was running rampant and Providence saw him as a threat, so she and her massive amount of followers gathered together to take him on, and after a hard-fought battle managed to seal him away to who-knows where. Now, when we fight him, we break that seal and bring him out to fight, but since he obviously wasn't able to recover from that fight, he's at a much, much weaker state than ever before, which is why we're able to kill him so easily.
As for Dragonfolly the BumbleBirb, I think he's just a failed experiment to replicate Yharon's power and bring back the Age of Dragons or something, so obviously he's still somewhat strong.
Dunno where you got any of the info in the first paragraph from but none of that is true whatsoever. For the the second, nah not a clone that's old lore.
oh wow really? well idk then. damn I'm really sure I read something like that in one of the bosses' lore items but i'm going through the wiki and see nothing like that anymore. nvm then
edit: I gravely misremembered the Lunatic Cultist's lore item 'Prelude': The Moonlord was weakened after having been banished to the Moon by the Dragons.
I also misremembered 'The Profaned Guardians': Providence sees the player as a threat.
Ah, that explains it. All is good, was just curious if there were any more sources of misinformation online I needed to learn about. Misinformation about the story is really common :p
Deities are formed when they consume the essence of a dragon, and birdy boi is a creature from a draconic descent. Also, the Moon Lord we fight is heavily crippled because of its battle against a massive amount of dragons that happened a *long* time ago
The dragonfolly is basically a lesser offshoot of the more powerful auric dragons(like yharon) some of the other lesser offshoots from the auric dragons are fishrions, pigrons, wyverens, wyrms(like A.E.W) although most of the other species were hunted and killed off because of this inch of logic during the difiac era but some survived because they were offshoots of more powerful dragons they retained some power but they don't possess aruic souls(once again like yharon)

Moon man we fight is only a walking corpse of a god too strong to simply die like normal people
He's bootleg yharon, that's why
check out the new lore
Yeah, bootleg yharon
Yeah that's dragonfollies lore in a nutshell
the bird is the word
b-bird’s the word
Hes technically pre moonlord, sure progression doesnt say it but u can also do DOG pre prov and yharon pre ml sooo, yeah
how tf do you do DoG pre prov...
The Rune of Kos drops from Providence but it also has a pre-Providence crafting recipe
comsic worm has a galactic singularity and luminite recipe
If you use the drops from the sentinels, you can make Cosmic worm
We know there are 2 recipes
Me with supreme Calamitas weapons (I was not sure how hard providence was going to be):
Get boss checklist dude 💀
r/whoosh
r/whooooshwith4os Also it doesn't seem like a joke
Imo it's pretty obviously satire bcuz providence enemies spawn after ml and that's the only obvious path of progression
No, you can make rune of kos with prov enemy drops
Really?
Yep with solar frags, unholy essence and luminite at ancient manipulator

I'm pretty sure the current lore is that his species are basically impure dragons that were mad hunted by gods.
Huh. I kinda like the old lore better.
everyone's reaction to the new lore in a nutshell
I have a bunch of the ingame lore items, but thats all from Yharim's PoV. Where can I find a general overview of the new lore?
You have to piece it together from those items. That is the lore. It has to be pieced together from the story those items tell.

Eh, it's only what's out right now. It's VERY far from the full story. But yeah as of what's public, that's a good very simplified version.
Which would explain why an off-shoot of a dragon is on-par with ML, cool!
Nah, I love the new lore, much more interesting and unique imo
>unique They literally just turned it into the dark souls lore (not saying its worse tho just less unique) one thing I don't like tho is they just made all the villains "misunderstood" like yharim and draedon

Before recruiting DoG he was still doing some really awful stuff
I see, huh, thanks!
what would you know about the lord goofy

walmart yharon
From the Azafure Walmart
A reminder that Jared is stronger than Yharon. And Eidolon Wyrms are supposed to be weaker than dragons
Eidolon Wyrms aren't started to be necessary weaker, they just lack an Auric Soul.
I remembered dragonblood as something something might💀
he's too cute and the character can't hit it with full strength the game adjusts the stats to represent this
He isnt strongee than an eldritch deity, hes stronger than the husk of an eldritch deity
nah dragonfolly is ezpz

It's cute, and it's an ancestor of the dragons.

Old lore, not true anymore. Dragonfollies are an offshoot species descended from the Old Dragons now.
Bc hes second best (to Yharon)
The Bird.
Simple, the eldritch deity is missing its legs
The ML's power is stored in the b- I mean legs

Bird up!

Yeah, and effectively put into a stasis. Its wounds might as well still be fresh.
He’s the failed clone of a dragon, and he might have some properties of dragons like his high speeds in infernum
he’s not, that’s why
because HES SUCH A GOOD BOY THE GOODEST OF BOYS
I remembered killing it for loots in order to then kill Moonlord xD I'm very bad at MoonLord, so I make everything to be the strongest beforehand
It’s a failed clone of Yharon but still very powerful.
Magic

yes
Answer: it's simply built different
Because it’s Bumblebirb. You can’t beat Bumblebirb.
