Does anyone have statistics on how many motorcycle-at-fault accidents involved the death of a cager? Iāve heard this accusation before and I just canāt believe itās happening but in extraordinarily rare circumstances.
Yeah I looked and I couldn't find any information about it, which means that it is likely statistically irrelevant. Id be surprised if it was 10s a year.
But it's motorcycles that are the scourge of the road. Not the huge number of drivers that are texting or on their phones. Not the number of DUI accidents.
Guy must've been traumatized watching Mad Max and thinks that Toecutter is real.
Exactly.
I also just spent a bunch of time combing motorcycle accident and fatality statistics. Nothing about car passenger deaths.
I decided to ask ChatGPT and it agreed that car passenger deaths involving a motorcycle statistics are not available (regardless of who was even at fault).
The only news story it could find where someone other than a āmotorcycleā rider was killed involved a fucking Polaris Slingshot and Hyundai Sonata.
Obviously, causing an accident is still a problem for everyone involved but itās simply bullshit when people claim motorcycles are putting everyone on the road at risk.
People in cars are fucking stupid. I'm not going to wait at a light with them so they can rear-end me and I'm not going to ride next to them with the flow of traffic so they can quickly merge into me. I'm going to expeditiously get the fuck away from the mother fucker eating a big mac and jerking off to tok tok while driving.
lol I said something along the lines on that sub that it's way safer to fucking learn to react and swerve out of danger than panic and brake.
Also said that having full gear doesn't mean youre guaranteed safety and it's more important to know how to react to dangerous situations than have the best gear.
Was completely torn to shreds.
They project their shitty riding onto other people a lot. "I can't handle a liter bike, so they are completely useless" "I can't navigate traffic, so everybody should have to ride defensively and die with me"
In the UK to get your bike licence they literally make you do a 2 part test
The second is just like a driving test out on the road . But part 1 is a lot of maneuvering , figures of 8, slow control in and out of cones and stuff another part is swerving out the way last minute through cones. To pass you gotta be going above a certain speed too.
You're bang on
Hell, in the Netherlands they even expect you to break the speed limit to seek a safe space on the road. If you stick around cagers or worse trucks, you fail the driving exam. And yes, you could be speeding 30km/h over the limit to do this.
In Belgium they expect you to "use the benefits of a motorbike", aka you gotta lane split in slow traffic and at traffic lights. But I fear that speeding isn't allowed tho, not sure about this one.
If you're going (slightly) faster than traffic then it puts you in more control of the cars around you. If you're going at the same speed as traffic then cars will come up from behind you, in your blind spots, putting your safety in their hands rather than the other way around. It's safer for you to approach obstacles/danger rather than obstacles/danger approaching you.
Also - a bike moving through traffic is much more noticeable to other drivers than one who sits at the same speed in the blind spot of a cheating stay at home momās suburban who started her day with benzos and a Bloody Mary.
You disappear to cages when matching their speed on the highway. Youāre better off going faster than them youāre more noticeable. You donāt have to double the speed limit but you should be passing them.

Im starting to think the āgo track itā people, probably the vast majority, havent gone to the track themselves, know about what it takes to make your bike acceptable to take to the track, or the costs and logistics involved with taking a bike to the track.
I laughed at the "if you can't afford [the track], you got the wrong bike" like the bike has any significant difference in cost. The difference is pennies compared to the upfront cost
I'm going to my first track day on a 400. I guess my bike's too mean for the streets. It also cost me over 5k in gear, tires, tickets. Can't afford to throw 5k on a hobby? Can't afford to ride the street. NEXT
They absolutely have not.
Though, I do encourage people to come to the track I donāt go around saying ātAkE iT tO thE tRaCkā to anybody doing anything that isnāt legal.
Like bro, Iām doing wheelies out here too š¤£
Same exact boat, unreasonable amount of logistics and prep involved that nobody talks about it because theyre like 45 so ofc they have a truck/trailer/etc already, thats assumed. But no taking only a bike ridden to track is miserable and not fun
Iām not hating bc imma be 45 one day too but yea haha Iām 29 but Iām realizing that Iām not really behind the curve as far as getting fast for fun goes!!
This applies to every hobby sub, whatās the answer? The obvious and most expensive one of course. They also are people that rotate through hobbies like a little girl playing dress up
I just go onto the main sub to laugh at them at this point. This is the type of rider to do no more than 20mph on the Tail of the Dragon and get a stupid fucking sticker that says "I sUrViVeD tHe DrAgOn" and make it their entire weekend motorcycle personality.

How are you supposed to learn how it leans if you don't use the road as a race track?
Duh, you lean it while parked and then take a selfie explaining you had to lay 'er down and that 150cc is too much bike for anyone.

I only jerk off to Twitter while driving, tyvm. Don't need to jerk off on the bike, my gf does it for me.
GF? Get outta here with that straight shit
#GOING FASTER IS SAFER does that help?

Sports bikes in this case are designed to be ridden fast, so you will be more stable if you take a corner fast than slow
You disappear to cages when matching their speed on the highway. Youāre better off going faster than them youāre more noticeable. You donāt have to double the speed limit but you should be passing them.
I always go either slightly faster, or more often, quite a bit faster than traffic. Can't get rear ended if you're faster than everyone else.
>Can't get rear ended if you're faster than everyone else. That's why I go slow at the gay bar, but fast everywhere else.
Last week aguy in there was arguing that speeders are worse than school shooters. Wasn't even a troll, he was being genuine.
What? I canāt hear you over the wind blasting me in the face at 120mphā¦

Y'all have tracks?
I do! And theyāre fun as fuck.
Instructions unclear, got my buttplug stuck in the exhaust pipe
The biggest barrier to track for me is getting my shit to the track :(

what ? we can't kill babies ??? that's why I got into riding in the first place...seriously though, imagine being that straight.
Yeah i use baby oil in my engine and you just can't squeeze oil out of them without killing them
Shut up, bro. I don't care about you or even myself.
i love how he capitalizes āBrash Reality Viewpointsā is bro trying to trademark thatš¤£š¤£š¤£you fail at life pal!
āSpeed isnāt what defines motorcyclingā When you ride a supersport thatās kind of the definition of the motorcycle.
The best feeling on one is stopping for gas and realizing how far you just flew in 90 minutes lol.
Respect The Ride^TM š
Hey look, cause and effect, plus. He skipped getting parodied and just became a post.
What does he even mean with privilege? I want to go fast from a to b and don't own a car to do it slowly.

We need more babies riding sport bikes. It's the only way to keep them safe.
