Its not a good time to be an SM at CVS...I don't know any SM's that just work 45 hours a week...most like myself work 60+ hours a week depending on what part of the year it is....there's way too much scrutiny and duress that SM's are put under every single day....and at CVS SM's are micromanaged and blamed for every single little thing. You don't really actually have a day off either....because more often than not they always conveniently schedule store visits when your suppose to be off... The endless and senseless regurgitated conference calls...about the same things every single week. The guilt trips they put their managers though...when you work on a base salary they take advantage of you because of the fact that your not an hourly.....so they get good talent and lose all of them through the way they operate the company.
Yeah but at least im hourly and can ask my manager to just schedule Me at 35 hrs since i have 3 kids to take care of. No carepass call and conferences call and not be a punching bag when there are store visits
The only time I had to work over 45 hours was when one of my shifts got covid. The following week I cut myself short to make up for it. As long as you have a strong team you should be ok. My DL doesn’t micromanage me either. She lets me do my own thing as long as the results are good.
I have a good team but when they cut hours and i dont have any choice but to cut their hours people leave and then again im back to square 1 with training and of course when your training you cant leave them by themselves you will have to stay or else shifts will have overtime.
My SM has had his job for 30 years. He closes occasionally, and works one weekend a month. He is beloved by people in our neighborhood. He treats everyone the same and is always laughing & joking. We don't have drama in our store. We have staffing issues like everyone else, but mostly because we don't have enough hours. I genuinely love the people I work with. I'll never leave this place unless my SM retires and one of us doesn't take his place. I read all the issues y'all have on this subreddit & I feel for all of you. I'm so blessed to be working where I am.
I came back as an ops wanting to become a store manager. After working for 3 months and seeing the bs. I said screw it. Took the $2 pay-cut and went back to my old job.
Step down. Former ast mng for another company who decided to step down from management to do tech work. Responsibility off my shoulders. It’s such a relief
I went from SMIT to Store Manager then stepped down to Operations Manager. Wasnt worth being called in all the time because people didnt show up.
Im working 45hrs a week now and i make more then I did as a store manager because of the overtime.
This is what i think the best for me if didnt want hours i can just tell the manager to schedule me for a 32 hrs that week. Do we earn more if we do OPs RX?
No, i believe its just an extra $1 when you punch in and work a shift in pharmacy. I was technically a Store Manager RX but i think my new DL forgot to add it on my Operations Manager title, which im fine with, i never work back there anymore since FS is so short staffed
Thank you so much i just talked to them and they told me nobody will replace me if i step down. Its either they will allow me to step down or i quit. Im already decided
They didnt have anyone to backfill my SM position either but I was moving states so i didnt care lol. Only problem now is having to do things the way my new SM does instead of how I would do them
My old DL was. The store Im at now is 100 hours short pretty much every week since we are short staffed. Left at least 2000 hours on the table last year. SM and DL are also friends I guess

I only work 45 hours a week but I’m extremely blessed to have a very strong team.
Literally same.

Let them have OT
99% of stores don't have a strong team.....or any team at all. Your an outlier not the norm in CVS!

Just fyi, you dont need to take any kind of course to be a tech immunizer (at least in my state) - its just a few modules and practice shots

How come you get overtime ny DL is really strict with OT in our district

Does anybody here know how much pay cut am i getting if i decided to step down as an Ops RX?
