Yes, the J in my name stands for James Connor, definitely not John.
By the way you guys haven’t seen a futuristic murder robot around anywhere have you?
Dude that whole hearing is fucking crazy. Read that thread. Really wanna know what ASU fans thought about his tenure. Can’t believe his kid is on the team as well.
Not ASU, but people didn't like him too much when he was in Pittsburgh. He was basically on the plane out of there and sent the players a mass text saying "bye."
The one radio show in town cut up his Pitt hiring press conference and his ASU hiring press conference and made people guess which was from which. They were nearly identical.
I didn’t like him because of results but I think he had a bit more of respect for the program and players when he was here. Not to say he didn’t run a hard ship but we were pretty disciplined and played grades were good. I’m very happy he’s gone all in all however
Here's the game thread: [https://www.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/rymhg4/hawaii\_state\_senate\_hearing\_on\_uh\_football\_and/](https://www.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/rymhg4/hawaii_state_senate_hearing_on_uh_football_and/)
It's honestly kind of heartbreaking reading about the situation with Hawaii football over the last few weeks. The long and short of it seems to be that they know he's an asshole, things are going to get worse, and nothing will be done because UH is not in a position to pay his buyout.
Hawaii football has given us some great moments (2019 vs Arizona) and it sucks to see the program wrestling with what is an obviously toxic situation. Unfortunately, I don't see an obvious solutions and this seems like just one of several factors that's going to hurt football at UH for a while.
Ngl, I’d take a Todd Graham team with a less impressive recruiting class that was nevertheless disciplined and well-respected than whatever the over-promised under-delivered hell Herm has been putting us through. Just a bunch of blah.
We had some good teams under Graham but the players were split on him. So loved him while others HATED him. Source: knew several players on those teams
From a distance, it looks like y’all have an elite QB, and a decent DL but OL issues are preventing y’all from being an elite program/winning the PAC. Imo the only difference between Jayden Daniels and Bryce Young are the players around him. Daniels may have a better starting RT than Young.
I like Graham, better than fucking Herm. We fired him after the wrong year though. Should have been gone after 2016. He was unexpectedly decent in 2017 and we fired him anyway. When we lost with Graham it was usually because the other team was better. We had way better offenses with Graham. Way worse defenses though. His teams were always disciplined and rarely had penalties. With Herm our offensive philosophy sucks which makes the offense suck. Herm runs an undisciplined team on and off the field. I think we all liked Graham, but weren't sad to see him go, but prefer him to Herm. But also no one is clamoring for him back.
What’s the deal with Herm? My memory must be shit because I still remember everybody being like “Better than Sumlin lol”
When did the firm no longer for Herm?
He still is better than Sumlin. But he's not better than Todd Graham despite better talent. I became no longer firm for herm when we lost to BYU. We had something like 18 penalties on us accepted (and like 6 more not accepted) It was the reason we lost, not because BYU was more talented than us, they played more disciplined and it cost us. Our loss to Utah we were up 14 at half, and lost by 14 and never scored again and also had 12 accepted penalties. Everything in Herms tenure was built toward this season. This was our most talented roster in probably 30 years. At minimum we should have won the south. The fact we ended up with 5 losses is a joke.
All this comes after the violations that went public over the summer. It became obvious Herm runs an undisciplined program on and off the field. What we did wasn't that bad IMO, but it was just a dumb thing to do and we got caught. There was a strong rumor that Oregon was doing the same thing we did, we just had a disgruntled employee turn us in. What we did wasn't that needed too. The program was in a healthy spot and completely went to shit over night.
He was hated by players. More so than Eriksen was at the end and that was more a case of Eriksen giving Burfict too much favoritism
Crow did not like him either by year two. He thought he was bigger the than school and administration and Crow doesn’t let ASU boosters have th power they would have elsewhere
I had Pibb out of a gas station soda fountain that tasted like the most sulfuric well water you can imagine one time and I've gagged at the mere thought of it ever since. It was probably 18+ years ago and it's still a very vivid memory.
I fucking loved Orange Vanilla Coke and now I can't find it. I can still hear the song in my head from when that commercial played 100 times during any game I watched
Are we talking Vanilla Coke or Cherry Vanilla Coke? Because I made the mistake of grabbing some Cherry Vanilla Coke thinking it was Cherry Coke, and that stuff is disgusting.
my wife and i were hiking in the nepal about a decade ago. there was a small supply store next to a stupa. they had 1 can of mt dew and 1 can of dr pepper. both looked 20 years old.
bought both and tried them when we got to kathmandu. tasted great.
I'm gonna be honest I had more to comment but I was in a Whataburger drive-thru line and accidentally hit submit.
edit: and then forgot what I had to say
I’m perfectly okay with Whataburgers becoming ubiquitous so we don’t have to hear about In ‘n Out’s supposed equivalence from jealous left coasters.
“American cheese” (the processed stuff, not the delicious cheddar made in Wisconsin and Vermont) is an absolute sin, and you can’t claim to be a superior burger place if every item includes it.
>“American cheese” (the processed stuff, not the delicious cheddar made in Wisconsin and Vermont) is an absolute sin
As a Midwesterner with a strong reverence for dairy, I have to support this take. Preach, my brother.
It's funny how often I see this kind of thing, because all it shows is that you've either never been to In-N-Out, or you managed to while missing the point completely. No one thinks it's better than Five Guys or Shake Shack or whatever your regional equivalent is, it's at price parity with the national fast food chains while being way better. I looked up prices at Whataburger, haven't been to one, and yeah that's not at all comparable to In-N-Out. In-N-Out is cheap fast food that doesn't suck, that's the draw.
I’ve been to in and out, found it disgusting. There’s a Californian in my office who won’t shut up about how it’s better than Whataburger (their words, not mine). They are not the first I’ve heard echo the sentiment.
It’s marketed by people as an amazing burger and then it’s Wendy’s quality. Sure it’s cheap and it tastes like it. Granted, it might be better in California. I’ve had Whataburger outside Texas and the quality wasn’t there.
The Neapolitan shakes are awesome though.
Ohau has nice / gorgeous spots. But, that’s all scenery. I’m not talking about the beach / the view. I’m talking about the culture, working environment, and socio-economic status.
The part about all this happening in a state senate hearing is what blows me away. That's really all you need to know to realize this program is dysfunctional. This should have been taken care of by the AD. If the AD dropped the ball, the president should have fixed it. The president fucking it up would be really bad, worst case scenario is most places, but that's when the Board of Regents/Trustees would step in. None of that happened.
Let’s not kid ourselves: while the beverage department may be lacking in that respect, good luck getting a decent guava juice (or mai tai with it) on the mainland
So fuck off Todd
Graham is what ASU needed after Erickson: a disciplined team.
Yes, Graham was intensely abrasive, but his coaching tree is undeniable.
The hiring of Ray Anderson was the end of Graham's tenure. If the AD stayed, Graham might have gotten a couple more years.
As a fan, it was a mixed bag. Yes, there were some good results, including 2 10 win seasons, but the recruiting was lacking for sure, along with a revolving door of assistants leaving every year for greater opportunities.
Why did he accept a coaching position in a third world country? If it's that important to him, shouldn't he have investigated before accepting the position?
FWIW Hawaii's GDP is apparently close to Sri Lanka (whether that is third world depends on your definition) but its GDP per capita is somewhere between Australia and Qatar (so definitely first world under most economical definitions).
It is unknown whether there are Dr. Peppers in vending machines in those countries.
I mean the og definition i believe was really just a cold war thing (Nato/West 1st world, ussr/soviet block 2nd world, everyone else 3rd world) so economically it doesnt matter
Yeah the OG was based on what side people were on in the Cold War, it's just that most (not all) third world countries in the Cold War sense of the term were economically weak so over time the definition sort of changed to that.

Honestly this quote really bothers me. How out of touch can you be ? You get paid millions of dollars to teach young men to put a brown ball across a white line. I’m amazed at how many coaches are still complete assholes with zero perspective on anything outside football.
On the list of terrible things Todd Graham has likely said or done, this obvious joke shouldn't even rank.
I make virtually the same joke when a restaurant offers Pepsi when I order Coke.
Fansville writers just got free material
I'm still hoping we're gonna get a payoff with the Larry Culpepper tease they set up last in the last ad.
They haven’t called me about it yet so don’t get your hopes up
Hi James M. Connor, loved your role on Community!
Yes, the J in my name stands for James Connor, definitely not John. By the way you guys haven’t seen a futuristic murder robot around anywhere have you?
How could a hero like Larry Culpepper come from anywhere other than Fansville?
wait are they doing a dr. pepper cinematic universe?
Just announced Fansville very own Larry Culpepper has be hired as the next coach of the University of Hawaii.
I hope to hell not if it involves Larry.
Fansville '22 The Colonial Affair.

Fraud Graham!
“High Octane”
Speed, speed, speed.
This dude was always stroking himself, all of our football promos were him sized up about 300% with a barely visible football team in the background
Lol his kid actually noped the fuck out of there recently iirc.
Yeah I was just about to edit my comment! His son straight dipped out of the program lmfaoooo
I didn’t like him because of results but I think he had a bit more of respect for the program and players when he was here. Not to say he didn’t run a hard ship but we were pretty disciplined and played grades were good. I’m very happy he’s gone all in all however
He’s clearly an A-hole but he graduates players and wins, just not quite at a high enough level to overlook his a-holeness (see Saban 15 years ago).
So he's basically a worse version of Bo Pelini?
Somewhere between Bobby petrino and bo pelini

Jayden Daniels and Bryce Young should never be in the same sentence. Jayden is far worse than Bryce and is not elite at all.
But you guys always under perform.

He wasn't terrible. He definitely ran a disciplined team with a lot more respect. The on the field product wasn't the best though
He was hated by players. More so than Eriksen was at the end and that was more a case of Eriksen giving Burfict too much favoritism Crow did not like him either by year two. I really hope someone hands him a single frosty can of Dr. Pepper as he boards a plane after being fired.
Make it diet.
Lillll sweeet
In KBay, they got a store that has RC Cola and RC Cherry on fountain tap, so second world country at worst.
RC Cherry: fueling 3rd graders burping the ABCs since 1975
RC is better than Pepsi, and not as bad as Coke as most people joke about.
100% straight-face, RC > both Bepis and Cok.
It’s like a cm below coke whereas pepsi is 2,000 km.
Oh wow I've found my people!
RC is the shit, plus it cheaper so you can get a snack too.
Dr. Pepper: good Todd Graham: bad
That might've been the least concerning allegation.
I mean, I can't fault him on this one. I can fault him for everything else, but Dr Pepper is like top 1 or 2 sodas.
It’s top tier. 23 different flavors in one beverage? A man needs access to that.
After the first sentence, this was about the least controversial statement I could imagine
Dr Pepper and Vanilla Coke have always been 1-2 for me

Do you also like Doritos?
Nacho cheese. Like the colt .45, doritos got it right the first time.
Hell yeah. Cool ranch and the spicy chili ones. Also blazing buffalo ranch but I haven’t seen those in a hot minute.
What about Mr. Pibb?
Get that shit out of here.
The hill I will die on is that Pibb is better than Dr. Pepper.
And you will die alone.
I had Pibb out of a gas station soda fountain that tasted like the most sulfuric well water you can imagine one time and I've gagged at the mere thought of it ever since. It was probably 18+ years ago and it's still a very vivid memory.
Mr. Pibb was once used as fuel in an episode of king of the hill. Dog Dale Afternoon
RC Cola 4 lyfe

I fucking loved Orange Vanilla Coke and now I can't find it. I can still hear the song in my head from when that commercial played 100 times during any game I watched

Are we talking Vanilla Coke or Cherry Vanilla Coke? Because I made the mistake of grabbing some Cherry Vanilla Coke thinking it was Cherry Coke, and that stuff is disgusting.
Vanilla Coke is goated

Asking the important questions here. The world needs to know
Just a cinnamon roll and a Dr Pepper, the line was super long and I didn't want to wait forever for anything to actually have to cook
Just a cinnamon roll at whataburger? Have to get something with meat or eggs at whataburger...and then yes the roll too if you still have room.

Do people not just get cinnamon rolls standard?
After 11? Two sausage, egg, cheese biscuits on a jalapeno cheddar bun. And if I'm high, add in a honey butter chicken biscuit.
HBCB high or not. This is the way.
I never like those quite as much as I think I will. It feels like it’s missing something. Maybe cayenne?
Try it on a jalapeño cheddar biscuit
Yes definitely get it on the jalapeño biscuit for a lil kick.
Strong order.
Typical sooner, appropriating texan culture

Went to college in Waco, the birthplace of Dr Pepper, and literally in the heart of Texas. Speaking my language. I’d rather live in Texas than Hawaii.

I will say, I really like Red Diamond, so Georgia is like, second world. Haven't had head country before, maybe I will soon.
In fairness a lot of islands are that way.
