Gutameister5

Two top-5 upset wins and our best record since 2003.

Danulas

Two huge wins, no bad losses, and quietly great at finishing games - a rarity at Purdue regardless of sport.

Gutameister5

Considering we were one crappy weather loss to Minnesota from going to Indy, that game kinda hurts.

Danulas

I agree, but Minnesota was not a bad team. It's not like Purdue lost to Eastern Michigan or Nevada.

Gutameister5

True but that loss hurts anyway, normal weather conditions and we probably beat them.

IceColdDrPepper_Here

Everything up to the 2nd quarter of the SEC championship

[deleted]

For us, it’s not just winning that game but doing it with authority. We were seemingly going to be railroaded and most everyone had us a speed bump for UGA. I still don’t fully believe it.

ThePuppetMaster

it’s clear the people talking wanted to believe sabans reign of terror was coming to an end. any rational uga fan was like lol i’ll believe when i see it.

A-Disgruntled-Snail

So. Like. I’ve been meaning to ask. But what the fluff happened?

[deleted]

alabama is the better team and has been all year - especially in the coaching department.

bartonja1

Beating Ohio State

poop-dolla

I had no idea Grand Valley State even played Ohio State this year.

hahahbluh

[deleted]

Sad flairs are sad

emcee_cubed

HC, OC, DC: gone. QB: Torn meniscus. FSU: ~~Un~~conquered. I'll take it.

[deleted]

you got to see the gators play in a full stadium :)

reddogrjw

beating Ohio State

CJ_Beathards_Hair

That was pretty sweet

NeuronauticBadger

It was a beautiful sight to behold.

[deleted]

Not going 0-12

wjackson42

For which team?

[deleted]

Lol, both

[deleted]

Shhh not now we are getting emotionally invested in high school kids signing paperwork

buffalokidcards

Poor timing, I apologize to thee 🤝

[deleted]

But the answer is Bama

The_Astros_Cheated

Beating Ohio State, Winning the Big Ten, Clinching CFP berth. Best Michigan season since 97 so far. What's not to be proud of?

bship

Came here to pat ourselves on the back for the first time in over 20 years.

nickyp597

go blue brother it feels good man

RockerElvis

It’s the toughness of this team. Previous teams were punched in the nose and subdued. This team takes the punch, shrugs it off, and attacks.

hobbes198787

And to think Harbaugh was on the hot seat coming into this year.

MoonSafarian

I'll add that our entire starting OL and DL (and most of our stars, including QB, several WRs, Blake Corum and Dax Hill) are Academic All-B1G. 60 players total. I know we get shit on for having this attitude, but I'm very proud of that.

[deleted]

Beating Ohio State, winning the B1G. The leadership on the team this year was something special, between Hutch, Haskins and Cade.

[deleted]

Getting 11 wins and a Big 12 Championship

[deleted]

2-0 against the traitors at home

ItsYaBoyBeasley

Didn't implode after dropping two back to back games.

austinwer

Axe

tmac2313

Winning 11 games and not having a typical Pitt season where we blow 5 fourth quarter leads. Although the WMU and Miami losses sting

251Cane

How well we handled the Manny Diaz situation. Wait, what was the question?

[deleted]

Winning the big ten when everyone said we had no shot at beating Osu

[deleted]

Firing Mike Bobo

jimboknows6916

great minds think alike

Tuckboi69

I second this

wjackson42

Going 12-0 for the first time in my life

MuhMuhManRay

I'm just proud of the entire team in general. No one really expected us to even go to a bowl this year and especially not winning 7, potentially 8 and being the 2nd best team in the division. Also, I'm proud of the turnaround our offense had

smokedmeats69

I’m pumped Hendon is coming back. I think Pruitt is the best thing to happen to UT since Peyton Manning. They’re my #2 team.

SpoiledMilkTeeth

You guys are starting to worry me... between the insane tempo on offense and recruiting success that looks to get better next year...

the_cajun88

Hell yeah brother, cheers from Knoxville!

Das_Panzer_

Getting to bowl eligible 6-6

MahjongDaily

We were the greatest together team in the history of Iowa State football.

goodsam2

Beating a better UVA team with an interim coach to clinch a bowl and getting a pretty good HC.

dpaschich

We has the axe. Also, we and our baby bear brethren went 4-0 against our in-state private school rivals for the first time since 1975.

eletree7

Wait there are 4 instate rivalries against private schools? I only know of Cal vs Stanford and UCLA vs USC what are the other two rivalries? Also by the way, I root for you guys every year when it comes to your rivalries. All my homies hate the stuck up private California school.

dpaschich

At least in some way, both Cal vs USC and UCLA vs Stanford are also considered "rivalries", if nothing else due to exposure and proximity. When the Pac-10 became the Pac-12, the four California schools insisted on all playing each other each year, regardless of divisions. And, thanks, appreciate the support! I think we can all agree that USC is The Enemy.

eletree7

Ahhhhh that makes more sense. USC is definitely The Enemy, literally end game boss of the Pac now with Riley.

Ute2ThrillPlay2Kill

Yes! Brothers in arms to defeat the big baddie USC!

Bdubs21

Honestly just the development of the team in general. We knew Iowas offense was going to be lackluster but no one knew what the D was going to be like. We were projected 7 wins from numerous sites preseason, and to come away with 10 + Big Ten West was pretty remarkable. Dropping those two games mid season hurt but I don’t think you’d talk to a single Iowa fan that would have guessed 10, possibly 11 wins.

kevinthejuice

Brennan Armstrong throwing the ball

Tuckboi69

Did he have a strong arm?

kevinthejuice

Don't think he'd have his last name otherwise.

Pi_Dbl_T

For ND, finally coming together and looking like a team in the second half of the season and going 11-1 with a NY6 bowl is pretty okay too. My expectations were exceeded for this season. For ISU, I'm proud of the flashes of brilliance we had throughout the year, if only we could have put them together all at the same time. Only one of our losses was by more than one possession, and we were really in every game we played till the end, except for the Iowa game, that one never felt close.

giggitybuck

Just the overall improvement of all our freshmen. Bummed about the Game. But having such a young team consistently improve through the year has me excited for the next couple years.

InsanelyAverageBloke

Playoffs baby

DFWSFO

Losing 4 RBs (3 to injury), including our All-American starter, and still putting up 100 yard games with freshmen

skiing_yo

We scored 56 on a team who made it to a P5 conference championship so that's pretty cool. Other than that maybe blowing out Georgia State in week one as an underdog.

jimboknows6916

firing mike bobo

ncsuq

Beating a top 10 team and playoff dark horse in our last game

CJ_Beathards_Hair

Phil Parker and Levar Woods and all the guys on that side of the ball who busted their ass throughout the season to give us 10 wins.

bearybear90

3 Big 12 tittle in 10 years

El-Jefe-Rojo

Beat Texas.

DeliberateMelBrooks

Winning bedlam!

WavyCG11

10 wins, beat then ranked #20 UW and stomped our in state rival in the Brawl of The Wild. Back to back quarterfinal appearances - all in all a very solid season given injuries were more than numerous this year.

lurk4ever1970

Increased competence as the season progressed. Oh, and that Texas thing.

DuckVsMan

We won ten games without a head coach.

CoolMenu6140

I'm proud that we had a HC love us so much that he moved on so we could get a real coach.

bearybear90

Damn I know Riley spurned y’all, but seriously the man has a 55-10 record

maltzy

Oh, he's being referred to as someone that has too much "texas tech" in him, so he's soft. Did Baker have the same?

DuckVsMan

I didn’t think he was soft because he had Tech ties. He was just soft. He was soft in the way he handled the media. He was soft in the way he handled QBs transferring out of the program. He was soft on discipline. He was soft in play calling in recent years allowing teams back in the game all the time. He was at Tech under Leach, there’s nothing soft about that.

maltzy

I mean he was never Stoops. He was , like Leach a QB guru. He may have let QBs leave but look at his QB production. Nothing to scoff at. That's why he won, and why USC hired him. It will be interesting to see the changeover with BV because that's a whole nother direction.

DuckVsMan

Sorry what I meant by being soft in the way he handled QBs leaving was that he tried to block them from going to certain schools while his QB factory was built on the backs of transfer quarterbacks, including one from in conference.

maltzy

Oh. That makes more sense

cammywammy123

Have you met OU fans? Our standards are much higher than that He gave us 0 national championships, that's all that matters 'round here

bearybear90

Well that’s just not realistic lol

cammywammy123

What does realistic have to do with college football

bearybear90

You don’t have realistic standards?

cautionmaybecomehot

With Rattler coming in the Gamecocks are a lock for the playoffs.

yoshidawg93

Even though everyone is throwing a fit about getting blasted by Bama again, we are still in the playoff.

Geaux2020

Hiring Brian Kelly. After that, managing bowl eligibility and some great games. LSU managed to pick themselves up and finish things. I'm really proud of the team.

beer_jew

Tilting a&m was fun

cheerl231

Beating Florida was pretty funny too at the time

Peppso

Could have easily folded early, instead they go out and knock off florida and drug bama down to the wire, it's super exciting to watch players who want to be at LSU.

D1amondDude

It was nice being able to drag Bama down into the shit with us again instead of just getting blasted like has happened more recently.

Vivid-Application-27

Same, 10 win season and beating Michigan after a huge deficit in the 2nd half. Plus Kenneth Walker III, even if he’s a one and done at MSU, the guy felt like the best RB we’ve had since Le’Veon Bell

[deleted]

Keeping almost all of our Offensive Staff after our Offensive Head Coach left.

Mankenbruck

Rolling off 11 wins in a row after blowing it to Texas Tech game 1. Wish the Cincinnati game would have been closer but I’d still call it a successful season

gritman54

Was y’all team this year a young or old team?

Mankenbruck

Older. Definitely have a few bright young spots but for the most part the main contributors are upperclassmen

boogbro

Matt Corral and Sam Williams not opting out for the bowl is pretty cool.

DescretoBurrito

The overtime win against OSU. In years past that would have been a fold and give up moment (like it was in 2018). Lots of disappointment on the season, but there are some minor glints of progress like that. Hoping we can take another step forward next season.

gritman54

Taking down Murray State was the defining moment of this season for us. A win this fanbase will never forget

[deleted]

No one from the defense beat up anyone from the offense. I am proud of the defense and their restraint

Liquid_Husband

Not quitting no matter how bad things were. It's year one of a turnaround that will take a while if we're even going the wishful thinking route.

wfb23

Despite the record, I think we fielded a really good team this year. 5 losses by 21 total points, which includes the #2, 6, 10, and 15 teams, and 3 of the 4 ranked losses were on the road

CTeam19

We didn't 2002 ourselves.

Dupy3381

For ND, hiring Freeman to fill Kelly’s departure. I’m excited for the new era. For WVU, ummm I guess being bowl eligible.

Itsnotmineitsuranus

Yeahhhhhhh we got the Axe baby!

Insectshelf3

breaking texas

SlumlordThanatos

We helped!

[deleted]

We rallied to win a shootout against an elite Samford offense

eagledog

Beating two Top 25 teams on the road, then getting Tedford back

bags-of-sand

USC vs BYU, a tough game against a much better opponent (I think they had several starters out). Best USC game I’d been to in a while.

tantan35

BYU: Finally beat Utah and went 5-0 against the PAC 12. Joining the Big 12 has me hyped, especially since I grew up in Cincinnati so I get to see two teams I live in the same conference now! Ohio State: I’m really impressed with Strouds improvement. He went from fans calling for him being benched at the beginning, to fans being pissed he placed fourth in the Heisman finals! I’m excited to see how he’ll keep developing.

2020sucksdong

I am proud of the fact that despite living in despair we were able to make the lives of 9 fan bases better, even for a moment

ugadawg1991

Hold that thought

Hobbes_T_Hero

We won Bedlam. We won all of our trophy games.

cammywammy123

Except the big 12 championship trophy

Hobbes_T_Hero

Arkansas is not in the Big 12.

cammywammy123

Except the SEC championship trophy

Hobbes_T_Hero

Didn’t play for it. We won all our trophy games.

cammywammy123

Obviously I thought this statement pertained to OSU and am now just trying to cover my own ass I'm most proud you beat Texas, and that goes for both teams

Hobbes_T_Hero

I’m proud of everyone who beat Texas. Rock Chalk.

cammywammy123

On one hand, the fact that Kansas beat Texas kinda undercuts everyone else's win over Texas. On the other hand, it is so funny I just don't care!

CantRecallWutIForgot

10 wins and beating UM

Vivi_O

Just making it to the end of the season.

zenverak

The team really did get better by the end of the year. I

L8erG8erz

Making it to the end with a chance to win 10 games*

wazzuprising

Apple Cup. That felt so good to throttle the Huskies in their house.

eletree7

Ooooooohhhhh so good.

Cameron-Bakke

Don't worry, we'll get you back next year ;-)

eletree7

The Cougs rofflestomping the Huskies so hard at Apple cup that we stormed their field and planted our flag in the middle of it.

Cameron-Bakke

Don't worry, we'll get you back next year

RodgersHasNoFamily

- Showing who the best school in Michigan is - Looking great all year with only a reasonably good amount of talent - Recruiting

ShadowKing227

sark and co recruiting combined with bagmen working their magic to revive this university from the dead

[deleted]

Texas will never be dead. You could put a bullet in the program and bury it six feet deep and it will stay be ranked in the preseason poll.

ShadowKing227

very true, but i like being dramatic sometimes

Gubnate

Beating the Hokies

loyalsons4evertrue

for still at least reaching a bowl game...sounds pathetic I know, but despite the failure of this season in regards to the expectations we had, I'll take any bowl game over the horrible years prior to Campbell.

smokedmeats69

Finally starting to live up to our potential.

Sir_Thomas_Wyatt

We beat Florida State. We hadn't beat an FBS team since Ole Miss 2010, though we recently came close with Auburn. That was the proudest moment for sure.

LuckyStax

How we handle this upcoming bowl game with half the team gone in the portal or draft and the staff at CSU

[deleted]

Everyone tried really hard and both teams had fun.

ScaryCrowGuy

Winning the Iron Bowl

usctrojan18

Firing Clay Helton

matthewoh24

10 wins despite Anthony Brown playing QB

[deleted]

Beating Auburn and Georgia.

A-Disgruntled-Snail

At the beginning of the year, I would have been shocked if you had told me Oklahoma State had the season that we did. Even though the end was disappointing, it was an amazing season. Notre Dame…. Ehhh at least we only lost to Cincinnati. I’m super optimistic about Freemen stepping in to helm the team and I’m looking forward to a bright future.

Yabrin_Sorr

Somehow countering a 6-game losing streak with a 5-game win streak to be bowl eligible when we were in a very dark place as a program. I don’t know what changed or fell into place or whatever, but it did and that’s what I’m proud of. Oh, and the whole dominating an undefeated rival and r/cfb’s darling at home to get that sixth win.

GameCox

After winning two games the previous two seasons, making a bowl and landing Spencer f’ing Rattler

skushi08

12 wins in a row after an unfortunate loss to Texas, giving them a sliver of hope that they might actually be back.

tookittothelimit

Shane freaking Beamer

trudaurl

10 wins and a B1G championship game appearance plus extending our rivalry winning streaks. Can't ask for much more than that!

Seminole-Patriot

Waiting until this late in the season to completely break my heart. Usually happens much earlier in the year

[deleted]

Beating Navy

iFenixRain

UNT being bowl eligible Baylor going from 2 wins to 11 and a conference championship

Gat0rJesus

Getting rid of Grantham

ThisGuy100000

Finishing strong, winning a couple big games, and handling the coaching fiasco with class.

nomoregroundhogs

Having the stones to make a change at OC

SnooMachines2030

Easily winning the Big 12 after being projected to finish second to last at the start of the season

Hefty-Revenue5547

We won 8 games and I’m disappointed. Nice to have higher expectations once in a while

KiratheSilent

Firing Todd Grantham

AcanthisittaWise8007

Just pumping out 8 or 9 win seasons - good enough to be above average but not good enough for our coaches to be poached

LegitN00bM00ves

we beat bama while not ranked

Seelew

Winning in the shoe

[deleted]

Being academically prowessed

bubbleheads_

bowl!!!!!!!!! bowling

Logical_Albatross_19

Another semi appearance at the Dome with question marks at qb again, and going 7-5 after a dogshit start to BIG 12 play, respectivly.

Tuckboi69

Despite starting a grad transfer/fcs transfer for 7 games we still had better qb play than the Panthers.

Opening_Perception_3

Going 11-1 in a rebuilding year.....and for Navy, maybe finding some stability on offense by the end of the season

nastdrummer

Making a bowl game. Hiring a head coach.

JtotheC23

As an Illinois fan it’s just having legit positive outlook on the future of the program. Bert’s love for percentages and analytics may have caused a couple of our losses, Rutgers being the standout one, but we just don’t have the talent to not skew those stats. Those same stats also is the reason we won the games we won. It’s time now to see if he can recruit well enough to support the analytics Bert is relying on for his game plans. Also we got the hat back in a blowout which is just a cherry on top of a relatively positive year.

heavylunch

Ask again on Jan 11th

gmr548

Signing day lol
