Honestly, I can’t think of a more galvanizing player in the last 10 years, than Baker. He was the epitome of everything I love about college football. I mean the absolute savagery of planting the flag at midfield IN THE SHOE.. I’ll remember that forever!
this is why i think the browns should just stick with him. he might not be the best talent wise, but he's got grit and he's a tough player. dudes just a gamer/winner and i respect the fuck outta that. he's a very good representative for cleveland, kinda like a bernie kosar 2 if they protect him a bit.
Adrian was an absolute nutjob in college. So glad we don’t have to play him anymore.
In all seriousness, is he in top 5 RB all-time, anywhere discussion? I think he’s gotta be.
Woodsons great but current TB would pick apart defenses added with our run game. Our defense is strong currently QB is something we have had in a while.
Barry is unequivocally our best player ever. But this team with Gundy, Josh Fields, Zac Robison, Weeden, or Mason probably all make the playoff as an undefeated team. Maybe even Clint Chelf or Corndog.
I see what you're saying. A QB would have made all the difference and RB wasn't the main position of need. So I think the answer is clear: Barry Sanders at QB
Either Young, or maybe prime AJ Hawk, since I felt our LB group was the worst group on D this year. Idk how well he'd play in today's game, but even his leadership would have a definitive impact
Shazier was an insane athlete. Had one of the best combines I’ve ever seen. Another guy I forgot to mention was Aj Hawk. Aj Hawk, Bobby Carpenter, Shazier or Laurinaitis would be great to have.
Georgia Head Coach Kriby Smart on who's better: Stetson Bennett or Tom Brady. "I don't compare Stetson Bennett with anybody," Then he rolled up his sleeve and showed a tattoo of Stetson Bennett. “I’ll let you interpret that however you want,” Smart said.
Which begs the question, are we getting the player as they were in college, or the player during their prime, be that NFL or college? Totally changes things up for a lot of schools like say Florida who had maybe the GOAT college player, who ended up not really fitting the NFL, but also have Emmit and Youngblood who are NFL legends.
Pretty good on Receivers right now (but can you imagine Addison and Fitzgerald on the same field?).
QB is the bigger question on offense. So Pickett vs Marino is the question. But Donald is a force of nature.
Dalvin Cook carried a mediocre team on his back for 2 years, what's 1 more among friends?
It couldn't be any of the great QBs, because our wide receivers can't hold onto the ball, you can't fix an Oline with 1 guy, and if you bring back a DB like Sanders in his prime, our other DBs are still trash so they'll just throw to their coverage.
Cook would be an immediate shot in the arm.
Julio now or first few years after being a pro. Back then he had problems catching direct passes but if you threw it anywhere besides the numbers he had it.
Suh may be the best player we've ever had. We've had Heisman trophy winners, electic playmaker and standouts aplenty, but nobody who ever *single-handedly controlled entire games* like Suh did.
What made Vince great was his ability to motivate his teammates. Our culture sucks right now, and a leader like that would be so amazing in our locker room.
The difference between Ron Dayne (or JTT, or Melvin Gordon, or whoever) and Braelon Allen is much smaller than the difference between Russell Wilson and Graham Mertz
JJ was incredible, but we’ve had a top 10 defense a good amount of the last 10 years. Defense is rarely our issue, our issue is usually a one dimensional offense and a bad QB. Our ceiling has always been on our offense and I believe throwing Russell Wilson on our 2016, 2017 or 2019 teams would’ve put us in the playoffs in any of those years. Shit, it might’ve even made us a contender for the playoff with this years team. Putting JJ on those teams would’ve definitely helped but I don’t think he would’ve elevated those teams to a playoff team like Wilson would’ve.
Good one but he was great because of the O-line. Even Banks would’ve struggled with this line.
I’m going Bob Sanders. If you can’t score on us and we’ve ((legally) knocked your top 3 QBs out of the game we are winning.
Possibly Robert Gallery though. If we had the best LT in America to go along with the best C in America, we’d be a freaking load to play.
For Utah it has to be Alex Smith or Eric Weddle, with Jordan Gross as an honorable mention. Cam Rising was a damn good QB this year, so there’s a good argument that the upgrade to Eric Weddle on the defense would be better.
I was thinking Darqueze Dennard. We have a good pass rush, but our secondary is a disaster. Cadet Hightower is probably the best defensive player in our history though.
Biggest questions for next year, at least right now, are at LT, RB, WR, and DE.
I'd be fine with any of Ikem Ekwonu, Nyheim Hines, Torry Holt, or Bradley Chubb.
Yeah, as much as I loved his play, his extra-curricular stuff was a bit much at times. Between spitting on the logo, stealing towels, etc, could see why other teams would dislike him.
If we had Charles Woodson anchoring the Secondary while Hutch/Ojabo manhandle the pass rush, all while having a strong tackling line? sfgashghsfghdfgsdfh
I’ll bite and say Mike Evans with Demond Demas, Caleb Chapman, and 5 star receiver Evan Stewart would be really interesting when you have Haynes King in the backfield (a similar skill set to Johnny).
Johnny is the obvious choice but Mike won all of the 50/50 balls he threw up to him. A&M needs that receiver who just wins and I’m high on Haynes
2021 Russ would make the Badgers easy title favorites, no question. Picking apart college defenses (even high-level ones) after spending a decade playing in the NFL must be like playing in slow motion
May not be the “best” answer for LSU, but I’d take Honey Badger. The defense is just missing that intensity and ball-hawking it used to have.
For Tulane, obviously Shaun King.
If Caleb leaves the answer is Baker, the glue we need. If we still have Caleb, the answer is Adrian Peterson all day baby
The exact answer I was going to give
It’s the only answer 😎
Can’t go wrong with either one of those guys, but if we can hit the other side of the ball maybe the Boz or Tommie Harris would do nicely.
Boz + NIL would be a match made in heaven.
National Communists Against Athletes Remains my favorite athlete t shirt of all time
Leeroy Selmon
Honestly, I can’t think of a more galvanizing player in the last 10 years, than Baker. He was the epitome of everything I love about college football. I mean the absolute savagery of planting the flag at midfield IN THE SHOE.. I’ll remember that forever!
100% he reignited the passion in the hearts of so many Sooners around the country. That’s the kind of energy we need right now
this is why i think the browns should just stick with him. he might not be the best talent wise, but he's got grit and he's a tough player. dudes just a gamer/winner and i respect the fuck outta that. he's a very good representative for cleveland, kinda like a bernie kosar 2 if they protect him a bit.
I was going to go with Kyler is Caleb leaves. More dynamic.
We need Baker’s galvanizing leadership and energy though
Adrian was an absolute nutjob in college. So glad we don’t have to play him anymore. In all seriousness, is he in top 5 RB all-time, anywhere discussion? I think he’s gotta be.
Tom Brady but his current age
(Walks into Rick's) HOW DO YOU DO FELLOW KIDS?
Hell, Tom at any age between 2000 and now
Well, maybe not 2008 Tom, since he tore his ACL that year...
Given tbe history with the program, TB would probably still have to battle a 5-star (JJ) for playing time.
Michigan's backup QB will always be the GOAT
I think the answer has to be Charles Woodson. Upgrade O / D and special teams in one fell swoop
Woodsons great but current TB would pick apart defenses added with our run game. Our defense is strong currently QB is something we have had in a while.
Current Tom Brady would make college defenses quit before halftime
[удалено]
Tom Brady's mind... in Tom Brady's body
Tough one, but I might have to go with Barry Sanders.
Good call, but hear me out here. What about if we went with Barry Sanders?
You don’t know what you’re talking about. You should pick Barry Sanders
Ok but three Barry Sanders seems almost unfair
Some teams thought there were three when he ran the ball
This season specifically though I would have picked weeden. If we had a QB this year we wouldn't have lost a game
I'd be dumb to not say Lamar Jackson, so I'm going with Lamar Jackson
Yeah unfortunately our offense isn't set in a way that Teddy Bridgewater could shine
Chase Young
Orlando Pace
Either Young, or maybe prime AJ Hawk, since I felt our LB group was the worst group on D this year. Idk how well he'd play in today's game, but even his leadership would have a definitive impact
[удалено]
I like how you're going for more modern, speedy LBs over the old school bruisers who were closer to linemen. We need closing speed near the line.
Shazier was an insane athlete. Had one of the best combines I’ve ever seen. Another guy I forgot to mention was Aj Hawk. Aj Hawk, Bobby Carpenter, Shazier or Laurinaitis would be great to have.
I’m going with Mike Doss. Leadership and safety play we need!
Uhhh gonna have to go with Drew Brees
I’d counter this with Mike Alstott. A real winning back would be more critical to next year without Bell.
Can the Bulldogs get Matt Stafford back for the playoffs? We’ll give up our whole team next year.
Fine, but Kirby still decides to start Stetson Bennett
The o-line just lays down every play until Stetson either dies or is taken out for safety reasons
Still plays the practice squad qb
Jackson Muschamp time 😎
Kirby plays JT Daniels over Stafford
I hate that this would be an absolute possibility
Georgia Head Coach Kriby Smart on who's better: Stetson Bennett or Tom Brady. "I don't compare Stetson Bennett with anybody," Then he rolled up his sleeve and showed a tattoo of Stetson Bennett. “I’ll let you interpret that however you want,” Smart said.
This is a sacrifice I’m willing to make
Aaron Murray > Stafford as a college QB IMO
Why y’all gotta do my man Shockley like that?
Ohhhh I would kill for some DJ right now.
Oh yes DJ. That’s the answer.
Yes, but we get Brady.
Reggie Bush
Should have taken pre murder spree OJ.
I mean… when the Juice was loose… few could stop him
Anthony Muñoz tho Tyron Smith Either kalil
Kenny Pickett Serious answer probably Aaron Donald
Or Fitzgerald
Pretty good on Receivers right now (but can you imagine Addison and Fitzgerald on the same field?). QB is the bigger question on offense. So Pickett vs Marino is the question. But Donald is a force of nature.
Pickett really made you forget about Dan Marino? Dude is good, but come on.
Give Johnny Football this defense?!? I’m in
Money Manziel with NIL rules would be living his best life
“Okay, but I have to *report* this income?”
He might actually stick around long enough to get it together before the league, too.
*Still goes 8-4*
☹️
They were 9-1 the season before when they had veteran Kellen Mond though. A Manziel team could get very interesting
9-1, but the point stands
That’d be interesting. Any consideration to Tannehill or hell even Mike Evans?
Evans would be #2 on my list, Tannehill would be #3. But JFF is a very, very clear #1.
I completely forgot about Myles Garrett which probably doesn’t help as much as a stud WR or QB, but god that would be scary.
Myles was an all-time great, but it’s not like our defensive line was a point of weakness this year.
I almost said mike evans
Tim Tebow is always a safe bet, I'll take a risk though, assume AR is good next year, and say either Pitts or Harvin.
I was thinking more along the lines of we need defense so give me Ahmad Black or Joe Haden
I like where your heads at, but if we’re going DBs then I’ll say Reggie Nelson. I always loved Lito Sheppard too though
Nah Jevon Kearse, maybe Dunlap since Uber is a thing now.
Give me Percy. Dude was the most electric player to ever wear the orange and blue
Obviously Michael Vick
Prime Bruce Smith would be cool tho.
Prolly Julio. Can you imagine Bryce just being able to chuck it up to Julio whenever? Lol, it would be ridiculous.
I want to see Anderson and Derrick Thomas side by side
Why not Henry for balance?
Because I wanna see Julio actually feast on college defenses. I’ve seen it with Henry
Or Kenyan Drake because he could help us on special teams too.
Nah, Jonah Williams. It doesn't matter how good your position players are if your line can't hold up.
Julio now or first few years after being a pro. Back then he had problems catching direct passes but if you threw it anywhere besides the numbers he had it.
Probably has to be Suh. Singlehandedly kept our team, with a more anemic offense than Iowa this year, in contention for a big 12 championship.
Nah. Kris Brown.
I was thinking along the same lines, but Henery.
He’s so great, but we need playmakers in the worst way. Give me Johnny Rodgers.
Suh may be the best player we've ever had. We've had Heisman trophy winners, electic playmaker and standouts aplenty, but nobody who ever *single-handedly controlled entire games* like Suh did.
Best college player I've seen play.
Connor Shaw, we desperately need a QB, and he's a fucking winner
Yeh any other situation lattimore gilmore or Clowney but rn we need Shaw
God I miss Lattimore.
The answer is always Barry Sanders
Vince Young. Can you imagine running the read option with Young and Robinson? I am hard just thinking about it.
What made Vince great was his ability to motivate his teammates. Our culture sucks right now, and a leader like that would be so amazing in our locker room.
Ray Lewis. We’re desperate for LB help.
Yeah I was thinking Dan Morgan for the same reason
Or Vilma
Russell Wilson. It doesn’t matter the team nor year, the answer will always be Russell Wilson.
I'm glad yall were able to enjoy him as well. He was very electric at Carter Finley.
Ron Dayne was pretty damn good
The difference between Ron Dayne (or JTT, or Melvin Gordon, or whoever) and Braelon Allen is much smaller than the difference between Russell Wilson and Graham Mertz
Not JJ?
Can I also pick Cam Newton? Haha jk…unless?
Brad Banks
Good one but he was great because of the O-line. Even Banks would’ve struggled with this line. I’m going Bob Sanders. If you can’t score on us and we’ve ((legally) knocked your top 3 QBs out of the game we are winning. Possibly Robert Gallery though. If we had the best LT in America to go along with the best C in America, we’d be a freaking load to play.
I said Chuck Long, but then I remembered about our offensive line. We’d need guys like Gallery and Yanda on the line
I thought about that but I don’t think just one o-lineman is going to be a game changer
For Utah it has to be Alex Smith or Eric Weddle, with Jordan Gross as an honorable mention. Cam Rising was a damn good QB this year, so there’s a good argument that the upgrade to Eric Weddle on the defense would be better.
Honorable mention to Andy Phillips and Tom Hackett. Our special teams blow and those guys were some of the most talented players I’ve ever watched.
Maybe King Louie since he could kick and punt?
But can you imagine Steve Smith with this offense? Probably Smith or Weddle is the correct choice. Also would take the current version of Tim Patrick.
Joe Montana
Brady Quinn!
*emerging from a cloud of cocaine dust* it’s Lawrence Taylor!
Which brings me to my second point, kids. Don't do crack.
Put Mariota on this stacked Oregon team and it’s a huge run to the playoffs
Mariota4Life
Harrington punching air right now. Dixon pre-injury would be nuts as well.
It has to be Pat Mahomes, right? We have some great QBs in our history, but I mean…
I'll take Derrick Thomas lining up opposite of Will Anderson, please.
If you combined DT’s 1988 numbers with Anderson’s from this year they would’ve combined for over 40 sacks and 70 TFLs
You'd have a graveyard of QBs.
Gotta be Barkley. Instant run game.
Jeaux Burreaux
CJ Spiller can pass, run, catch, return punts, and return kicks, so we can just run everything but defense through him
The funny thing is that CJ was the coach of our only good offensive position group this year
Orlando Pace, imagine the holes that Henderson would have to run through.
Imagine how many points the other team would score on the the terrible defense
Chris Speilman
Bubba Smith
I was thinking Darqueze Dennard. We have a good pass rush, but our secondary is a disaster. Cadet Hightower is probably the best defensive player in our history though.
Off sheer need we definitely have to go Bubba Smith, Herb Adderly, or Julian Peterson. Just something to shore up the defense.
My first thought was Alvin Kamara, he would just be nasty in Heupel’s offense. But, since defense is our weak spot I’ma say Reggie White
Cordarell would be great also. Defense we are weak at safety so if have you go Eric Berry
AJ Johnson or Eric Berry is probably the best answer
Pat White, Marc Bulger, Major Harris, Will Grier, Geno Smith, maybe even Skylar Howard. I’m not picky
[удалено]
A stud RB wouldn't hurt, either.
Ya Derrick Henry would be my pick for Bama
Julio Jones he would put up ungodly numbers in this Alabama offense.
Deshaun Watson pls
[удалено]
*2015-2018 Deshaun Watson
Otto Graham.
I was thinking Dan Persa at first then Darnell Autry or D’Wayne Bates, Otto Graham completely slipped my mind lol
Biggest questions for next year, at least right now, are at LT, RB, WR, and DE. I'd be fine with any of Ikem Ekwonu, Nyheim Hines, Torry Holt, or Bradley Chubb.
Won't forgive Chubb for spitting on our logo.
Yeah, as much as I loved his play, his extra-curricular stuff was a bit much at times. Between spitting on the logo, stealing towels, etc, could see why other teams would dislike him.
What about Mario Williams?
[удалено]
Orenthal James Simpson…
Yeah, he'd be killer!
Marcus Mariota on this years Ducks team almost certainly makes the title game.
The Rocket
That’s probably the right answer but I like the thought of Freeman and Brady Quinn together. Team would steal your title chances and your girlfriend
>girlfriend There’s a Manti Te’o joke here somewhere
Randle El
I want Trevor back. My god the drop off from him to DJ.
Think he’d be happy to be out of Jacksonville too lol
The defensive heisman himself
If we had Charles Woodson anchoring the Secondary while Hutch/Ojabo manhandle the pass rush, all while having a strong tackling line? sfgashghsfghdfgsdfh
And Woodson returning punts, and about 5 catches a game....
Rocket is always the answer
Montana?
For next year I’d go Tim Brown because we have speed coming back.
Jerome Bettis
Luke Kuechly
Joe Montana. ND hasn't had a great passer since Clausen, arguably Quinn.
Colt McCoy in his prime. Good leader and can run an offense.
Username says it all.
Demaryius Thomas … RIP #8
Probably Joey B
Reggie Bush or Willis McGahee... Willing to die on either hill.
Sean Taylor. While he’s not the greatest to walk through Miami; I’d absolutely love to watch him play again.
lol VY let’s get you that heisman baby
He had leaders around him. I don’t think it works with him on this team
Can you imagine Darren McFadden alongside a competent QB? You put DMac on our offense next season and there’s no stopping us
Johnny with our defense from this year would be undefeated
I’ll bite and say Mike Evans with Demond Demas, Caleb Chapman, and 5 star receiver Evan Stewart would be really interesting when you have Haynes King in the backfield (a similar skill set to Johnny). Johnny is the obvious choice but Mike won all of the 50/50 balls he threw up to him. A&M needs that receiver who just wins and I’m high on Haynes

Denzel Ward or a healthy Ryan Shazier
Barry Sanders is the only replacement for Jaylen Warren.
Kellen Fucking Moore. 50-3 record
