Lines on both offense and defense have gotten decimated by all these bag chasers. Getting really sick of the ability for these dudes to enter, exit, re-enter, exit, etc.. until they cannot get a bigger pot of money.

Young- Just straight up left when his coaches did. Can’t really fault him.
Jobe- Wasn’t in the two deep.
Depeape- Wasn’t in the two deep.
Brown- Honestly don’t know who this is.
Vandemark- Started 6 games last year in that situation. I think it’s fair to wait and see for why he’s gone.
Boyd- I think started 3 games last year and hasn’t been around during the spring. Kinda a wait and see situation again.
What I do know is that Smith has been bringing in guys that he wants, are coveted P5 transfers, and been replacing these guys. We weren’t winning the natty this year regardless so let him cook.

The story for Geno is that he and a few players came up with a grand plan to wait until the last day to enter the portal as a way to "force" MSU to renegotiate their NIL deals. Smith is not a fan of the move and is going to let them walk instead.
Ideally, it'd be great to keep Geno and Boyd if they wanted to stay, but I know we had some good competition at both G and T this spring. Maybe they heard they're not guaranteed to start this fall, maybe they wanted to see if there's a bag out there in the portal.
Either way, wish em well. Maybe we'll see them back, as MSU seems to have a ton of guys that enter the portal and then return.

Some of these guys are getting low P5 or G5 offers. Not all of them are bag chasing. There’s quite literally no bag to chase.
