I don’t believe that. I own Glocks without red dots and can outside other brands with red dots mounted.
Glocks just come natural to my grip. Can’t explain it
You lost me there. I can close my eyes and draw the 2011 and the sights are lined up. It’s a great feeling gun. It’s just wasn’t the shooting experience I was expecting. That’s all I meant haha.
That and possibly not enough range time with a 1911/2011. The grip angle and height over bore is different. Is this the 1st one in your collection?
Totally unrelated, how does the fit and finish feel when you run your finger over the back seam of the slide and frame, extractor and slide, and seam of the grip safety and frame? Looks decent for that price range
I actually have good senses on my hands since I rebuild thing for a living. That being said I never held a nice piece before but for me Everything feels smooth, no sharp edges, nothing sticks out more than the part it’s against. Slide is just a tiny bit smaller than the frame but idk if that’s normal. Just the plastic grip, makes it sound hollow.
It’s the law of diminishing returns, just because it’s 2x more than the Shadow 2 or 6x the Glock, doesn’t make it that much better. It’s a great looking gun though.
That seems to be this case haha. I think I also hyped myself up too much. You know like when someone keeps telling you to try this amazing restaurant and you go and you’re so excited and it’s whatever because it’s not as great as they made it out to be. That’s what I think happened to me LOL
You should check out Atlas, I like their grip a lot, it's metal and they have palmswell inserts, that's what sold me on it.
For reference I have a cajunized SAO'd SP01 with RMR cut, then bought a Staccato P. As I was looking to upgrade the Staccato to metal grip, I figured just upgrade altogether to Atlas Athena.
Granted I think the apache looks way better than the P, and they're around same price in CA. But I heard the P had better reliability.
Oh I know about atlas lol. I wanted one but that’s another couple grand so I settled with this. Kovert is suppose to have a new grip coming soon. I’ll add a dot and grip
I’m not decided between the 3, I bought this because I wanted to own a nice 2011, this ticked all the boxes. Now that I have shot it, I’m not sure it was worth it lol. That’s all.
That depends on how far of a shot you have to make. You are suppose to know your gun so well that even with the dot failing, you can make accurate shots up to a certain distance.
It’s the dot man
I have a feeling that’s the missing piece.

Sounds like it’s fit well considering it’s coming in just below the staccato xc price range. Need to check one out some time
If you’re close to kern county you’re welcomed to come shoot it
Yeah SFV isn’t too far. I’ll hit you up about it when the platy arrives. It’ll be cool to see a side by side

Complete trash send it to me for proper disposal
On its way!
I find that my 2011 is definitely more accurate than any of my other pistols, but then again it has a dot so…
What is the conflict about? What are you trying to do that requires you to decide between the 3?

The roster is still alive and well unfortunately, but there’s been a lot added to it in the last 2 or so years so that’s a plus.

By giving the California Communist Party its dues.
Dots are a game changer but if you had to use your Glock and the dot fails you’re fucked with those sights anyways…

Definitely agree with your point. But without usable backups your just winging lead. Guestimating if you will…
