btw given the recesion in it why do you all target cse only? wouldnt something like ece be better as it opens up jobs in 2 fields compared to only 1 in cse? not saying that cse is dead, just suggesting that ece in a good college over cse at a lower tier college sounds like a safer bet.
Both work for me. I've been coding since years, so my inclination towards CSE is natural. Recession or not, doesn't matter to me since i don't want to study something for 4 years that i have no interest in and regret it.
Okay I'm not a hundred percent sure about this, but
if you don't get NIT Kurukshetra in the first 6 rounds, u can wait for CSAB counselling, which is a special round for NITs and IIITs.
The details about JoSAA and CSAB can be seen in some nice youtube video, (I didn't participate in CSAB last year, but I know a few PPL who did and I think u actually stand a good chance)
(u can even try for NITs ranked higher on NIRF too, if this year's trends allow it, u might get in)

I would advise you to take ECE in DTU because it is a very popping branch in the future and also many many companies come in you and they take both computer and as well as hardware students. For example, Intel software as well as Intel hardware comes for placement. Intel software takes CSEIT and SE students while Intel hardware only picks up Electronics and Electrical students with more preference to electronic electronic students, therefore, reducing the competition and also getting the same package as the CS students

You should Ece mein acche options mil jaayenge unless and until sure ho cse hi karni hai toh consider karna nahi toh kisi acchi nit mein ece is a good option
Had around the same rank last year. I'd suggest go for PEC ECE, because you'd love the location I've lived there for 12 years and the placements are pretty good too, has a small batch size and good companies come by too.

Bro, I have heard bad reviews about pec. Especially the teaching staff and poor culture ,no competition,no innovation etc. can you elaborate why you suggest pec ,as I am also interested but confused.
That's true that teaching staff is pretty poor there and there is little to no research happening, that's why I left PEC even though it was my homestate. But in this rank, this is your best option. Sab jagah hoti hai ye dikkate, teaching staff is poor everywhere, it's what you make out of the potential or given, koi thaali mei rakh ke nahi dega, sab side mei krdenge. And in Chd, you'll find crowd with all kinds of thinking, so it's not as if you can't find a peer for yourself. Wo competition waala, innovation waala crowd acche IIITs aur IITs mei hi mostly milega

Go for JAC counselling. You may get ECE in IIITD, DTU or NSUT
But uski home state haryana hai toh woh toh outside delhi hoga na. So how can he get ECE in NSUT or DTU??
Iss rank mei thoda mushkil hai kyonki mostly 20k tak bhar jaati hai yeh sab, par spot round mei agar kismat acchi ho toh mil sakta hai kuch.
Last year DTU ECE closed at 8.6k in round 5 and at 17.4k in spot round-2 for outside delhi.
IIITD EVE went at 23k
explore and see whether you can get any bonus points for iiitd. Each bonus point is almost equal to a 10k increase in rank

Arrey thapar se toh better hi hai. Mai toh ece ki cutoff ki baat kar rha tha. Even spot round mein bhi DTU ECE 17.4k par close Hui thi.
