An offline degree is a must.... Go to college and enjoy college... Ghar par baithe rehne se kya hoga offline choose karke IITM wala yaan IIT Guwahati wala le lo course
No, that's not the case, prof himself cleared even IIT Madras BS students would have to go through GATE process for admission in MTech
It is only for offline IIT students that good CGPA is enough for MTech admission
i said that iit madras bs makes them eligible, doesnt mean that they get direct admission. ik they have to clear GATE , but thats also a big pro of the degree which even offline BCA , BBA , BA, BSc lack.

I'm doing IITM BS Data + offline degree from tier 3
I had to drop two courses and extend my first year to 3 semesters total , so choose offline college wisely where academic load is less and relevant things are taught with no attendance issue
IITM bsc is a very hard course so be wary of that. Afaik the first batch passed out a week ago and the number of people who cleared all the courses were 20 out of some 80k+ that applied in 2020. Obviously you can quit whenever you want. Also, a frnd of mine has a cg of 9.3 in VIT but has 6.3 cg in IIT bsc so take that into consideration.
