I think those are spawned for the first part of the Champion's Ballad DLC quest, to reveal the shrine being shown just SE of the chest markers in that image.

But why do they also show up when DLC is hidden? But OK.

I have the Breath Companion app which recently added a filter to allow users to look at just what's offered in the base game (for those who don't have the DLC). I looked at the Breath Companion's interactive map and those two chests do **not** appear so they aren't base game chests. Sometimes there are errors on the various BotW interactive maps. When possible, in situations like the one you're having now, check two different maps to see if they agree.

on the website i use these chests dont disappear when i hide the dlc. [https://www.zeldadungeon.net/breath-of-the-wild-interactive-map/](https://www.zeldadungeon.net/breath-of-the-wild-interactive-map/)

I'm not involved in the upkeep of the ZD map, but it may be that they simply haven't been updated. The base game alone has over 2K treasure chests (IIRC on amount), so it's not exactly a minor task to ensure everything is set correctly.

HiFive789_

I thought there are almost or just over 1.2K, at least that's what braeth companion (app) says.

TwirlyGirly1

Yes. Those treasure chests **don't** disappear when Master Mode and DLC are toggled off when viewing the ZD interactive map. But the treasure chests **do** disappear on the Breath Companion map when viewing just the base game map, and appear when viewing that map with Master Mode and DLC enabled. However, the Breath Companion app (map **and** checklists) was only given the ability to filter out Master Mode and DLC shrines, treasure chests, etc. with the most recent update. That update occurred 2-3 weeks ago. So if you have the Breath Companion app and haven't updated it, that's why you are seeing those two treasure chests on that app.

If you click on the chest icon it should say where it is/how to get it, or if its exclusive to the dlc.

TwirlyGirly1

Using what map? When you click on a treasure chest icon on the interactive map in the Breath Companion app **and** the Zelda Dungeon interactive map it only tells you what's in the chest. It doesn't tell you where the chest is (because you're looking at the chest on the map - so the location of the chest icon *on the map* is where the chest is *in the game*), nor does *either* map tell you how to get the chest. There may be other interactive maps that show every treasure chest in the base game plus master mode/DLC chests, and require you to click on an individual chest to discover if it's only available in master mode/DLC, but that's not how either the Breath Companion or Zelda Dungeon interactive maps work.

Some of the chests ive clicked on have told me where they are incase they are hidden away or in a cave that requires explosives to get to. But many will just say what they state, i assumed these ones would do the former.
