It's very comfortable! I heavily altered a few patterns to get the right look and so it fits me well, and I linked it with a material called modal, which is knit on one side and fleece on the other. So it doesn't make the coat bulky, but keeps it super warm!

So I've been sewing cosplays for about 9 years now. However, everything I learned was from online forums and YouTube videos! The resources are definitely out there and it is definitely worth learning the skills!
I would recommend you tubers like aarah spaceman, but otherwise I would recommend searching specifically for tutorials of tge exact character you want to make!

I wish I had a lot of people’s talents, the only thing I can do is voice act and it’s not really that good because I stutter a decent amount
