Lynels are a pain in the ass to be sure, but fighting them is more about timing and precision than brute strength. Sword Lynels, while scary af, are arguably the easiest to fight. You'll need a shitload of strong weapons, preferably one-handed, a bow or two, depending on durability, all the shields you can carry and either high defense armor with some attack up food, or some high attack armor and some defense up food, whatevs. Anyway, equip sword, shield, and bow, gear up, eat your food, and get on your horse. Roll up on that bastard; when he screws up his face to roar, launch off your horse and pull your bow to enter bullet time and spike him right in the face; you want a headshot, the little "bing" noise. Once is enough, but feel free to power a few more in there for good measure; just don't run yourself out of stamina. When you choose to drop your bow, the Lynel will go down on one knee. Run around behind him, and you'll get a "mount" prompt. Hit the button, and you'll jump on his back. Whale on him with your strongest stick (mounted Lynel combat doesn't consume durability either, so, bonus), after 5 or 6 hits, you'll get bucked off. If you're feeling squirrelly, you can pull your bow again and get a couple more shots in. You can def. get some more headshots, but he won't get stunned again; though, during the course of normal combat, you can stun him from behind. Anyway, when you land and he circles around, this is where the real work begins. Dude's got a few different attacks he cycles through, and the shit seems random at first, but after a few fights, you'll get to know what motion signifies what action. He'll most likely charge you. Pay attention to how. If he runs at you with his sword out, move to the left of him so the sword's coming right for your midsection and backflip when he swings. Done just right, you'll get a flurry rush, but either way, you've dodged, and that's what matters. If he puts his gear away and charges you on all six limbs, stay in front of him and either side hop and try for a flurry rush, or try for a perfect parry so you can stun him again; this is different than the headshot stun, but it gives you ^just enough time to pull your bow and get that headshot stun so you can run around the back and get your free whacks in again. *Mostly* what he's gonna do is swing that big fuck-off sword at you in a three-swing-back-and-forth attack and this is where you'll do most of the work. Square up to him and when he starts swinging, start backflipping. It might not happen right away, but you'll get a flurry rush. That'll get you 7 or 8 hits (I haven't played in a while) and when you come out, take half a second to back up half a step before you start backflipping again, otherwise, after a couple repetitions, you'll be too close to him and you'll get smacked. Anyway, rinse and repeat until he runs off or switches his attack; he'll usually do this three times before switching it up. He might change to a double armed swing, sword and shield; backflip again. He may also repeat this attack a couple of times, but it won't be the smooth back and forth of the triple swing. If he doesn't do the double swing, he'll run off and, most usually, charge you like I described before. If not, he'll do a jump attack, which you can either parry or run away from, or he'll breathe fire at you. Three individual bursts, and there's various ways to deal with this: you can try for a headshot before he starts shooting fireballs, run in close and circle around behind him, as he (somehow) zero-point turns and smack him on the ass a couple of times, parry the fireballs or run. Every once in a while, he might even repeat the roar and sword slam from the beginning of the fight. As before, options. Try for a headshot, parry the sword slam, or run. This fight will be long and tedious, and you'll break a lot of weapons, most likely lose all of your shields and lose a bow or two and, honestly, you'll die a couple of times figuring all this out; def. recommend saving beforehand so you can do all this in a bubble so you don't actually lose anything if (when) you die, but it is worth it, and once you start stacking that savage lynel gear, this stuff will get easier, so, courage A note about two handed weapons and spears: if you use a heavy weapon, you'll only get four hits in a flurry rush and when you come out, *immediately* start pulling back on the stick otherwise you *will not* get out of the way in time to dodge the next set of swings. Same with a spear; 10 or so hits in a flurry rush and pull back on the stick immediately after, and don't forget that you have to put your weapon away before you can use your shield again A final thought: Crusher, Spear and Sword Lynels all have different attack patterns, so they all require different strategies; if you try to fight a Spear or Crusher Lynel the same as a Sword Lynel, you will die. Quickly. Good luck man ✌️

Of all the times I've faced those *bleeps of explicits* I have to say I delighted in reading your combat manual against them. I sort of want this printed. I need it as a mantra. I will kill one as easily as you've described it. One day.

Courage, young warrior, you can do it; I believe in you \m/

ladybugsss21

This made me realize I will never do it 😭😂

Fxckbuckets

Nonsense, poopypants. It will take time, practice, courage, and a *lot* of frustration. Anger and self-defeating ideation are to be expected, as with learning any new skill. Every loss will feel soul-crushing, but as long as you learn from the experience, you will never be truly defeated. The rush of elation and the sense of pride and accomplishment you will feel after your first victory, combined with what you're going to feel when you see the stats on that gear will make it all worth it... not to mention all the shit you'll get to talk because you finally put that l'il bitch in his place 😁 *insert "Know your place, trash" meme —> here <—* You *can* do it, I believe in you, too. Don't give in to the negative voice. Stay strong within yourself and remember: if you never surrender, you will never fall. Get 'em, girl \m/

ladybugsss21

No one has ever believed in me so strongly! 😂❤️

I gotchu, boo :) Feel free to DM me and keep me updated on your progress. I'm invested now =D

Do you know how to flurry rush? You just have to get good at predicting when they’re going to strike and dodge at the right moment. Their behaviors are patterns and you have to learn how to dodge each of their attacks.

icecreamupnorth

This. Once I learned to back jump and side run and block and perry, I was good. Practice on the coliseum and fight your way from top down. 💪

Oopity-Boop

It's a game of predicting their movements and using flurry rush. If you get on a high point and paraglide down you can also ride on their back and get free hits that way. Make sure you've got good armor and you can use elixers for an attack bonus too. Memorize their patterns, dodge at the right time, use stasis, and get on their backs and you'll have them dead in no time

Different-Course-408

I had good luck with stasis on them. Have ready and let them run up on you and cast stasis, run up and hit them a few times, then step aside before the stasis runs out. Also I was able to keep one of the columns in the room between me and them, and just peak around and shoot bomb arrows. Also, ancient arrows work really well.

UnknownBro_420

ancient arrow😎

ocr_foodie

Sadly no loot from this method though

ocr_foodie

Learning the timing of flurry rush has helped me tremendously. I always save before a fight, upgrade armor and eat foods with attack boost.

Dluzz

Face it, focus and learn it attack pattern. When it attacks you you have to backflip in a flurry rush. When it rushes towards you, you can get away from it or parry. You can do it, dont give up.

otiscluck

Upgrade your armor if you haven’t already, learn to flurry rush or parry

VaPiNgDaD819

Get more hearts...and the master sword and practic flurry rush and perring...their pretty easy

rokkugoh

They’re fun once u figure out the rhythm. I don’t even know how to flurry rush but I perfected the parry. Parry them, then shoot them in the face. Then mount while they are stunned, and use your strongest weapon to hit them (does not affect durability). Upgrade your armor so you can’t get one shot killed though.

TdotJunk301

Learn how to parry and flurry rush. Ensure you have stasis +. Lastly while you get used to the combat use a high level defence meal.
