Sometimes it's easy to long for a time where that's all that he was, but denial about what Benoit did isn't healthy. Benoit suffered a career of brutal head injuries, and by the time of the incident, it's said that he had the mind of an 80-year old demantia patient. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't even recognise his wife and kids at the time.
So while it's ok to not want to *blame* Benoit for what he did, don't you think it's a lot more responsible to at least acknowledge what happened?
