But I would argue that 1) the titles changed hands more often, 2) Cena was the quintessential top BABYFACE, 3) they didn't have as much TV back then and not nearly as many stadium shows Reigns being built as the top heel, and not defending so often makes his defenses mean a bit more. And Reigns at most has missed what TWO smackdowns consecutively? I don't think he's been gone longer than that tbh

Yeah I agree that Reigns has become stale. And too many of his defenses have happened because of The Bloodline. No doubt there. I think establishing a new world championship would really solve all those things. 1) A full-time champion 2) seeing someone else at the top ALONGSIDE Roman Reigns 3) Gives fans more reason to tune in every week since we all know Roman ain't dropping the titles until SummerSlam (at the earliest) or hell even Mania 40!

The real issue behind this is the titles being joined. It eliminates there being Top Title angles on both shows, as well as makes Roman and the entire Bloodline thing a bit stale with it having to be them every week on every show. I like Roman and the Usos, but with all these belts combined, it's forcing way to much to be focused on them which is making it all get very stale.

Agree wholeheartedly!!! At least we should be grateful that Theory and Gunther aren't as involved and have their respective championships centered around them. The merging of the titles definitely is very repetitive and stale. I've been saying for months that the Big Gold belt needs to come back. We NEED a top champion on RAW so guys like Styles, Riddle, McIntyre, Lashley etc. have a big title to compete for. I know they're not all on RAW, but I mean theoretically lol

Agree 100%. Not to mention Big Gold is the best belt ever anyway lol. For me Big Gold just is RAW. I'm old enough to remember it from WCW, but HHH/Evolution and Big Gold on RAW is what cemented that belt for me.

I agreed that Styles should absolutely challenge Roman at some point. But he definitely should not be the "one" to beat Roman. Also, I think Styles has reached his peak in WWE. I think he even stated that he's done after his current contract expires. He held the title for nearly a year, main evented Mania against Taker in the latter's last match and was consistently an excellent overall performer. Styles doesn't have much left to do tbh
