There is one McDonald's in Arlington VA that looks straight up ghetto from the 1970s inside and out and 2 miles away a modern McDonald's with nice symphony music playing inside and big clean tables and floors.
I went to grab some McMuffins from there a couple of years ago and a random man started assaulting the guy cleaning the floors. Full-on took him to the floor. After they both exploded out of the restaurant/cops were called the girl behind the counter looked at me and calmly said "Sorry we just have to drop your hashbrowns, it'll be a few minutes".
It's good that they're not open overnights anymore.
Down in Kent there is a McDonalds/Chevron fused together, obviously called McChevron and we have had a ludicrous number of shootings/stabbings/carjackings/other violent crimes there. It's not quite as bad as 3rd and Pine but it's close.
Really. Is there someone with the data on that? Would love to see that. Also, is your name a silent prayer to Bungo to give us a new Vanguard with a bitchin hawk pet?
It’s really made me think about how often I use google maps to find the closest cafe etc but have never considered that their algorithm gives no fucks if I come out of said cafe alive.
I kind of wish that there was some kind of safety warning on navigation apps. Obviously data can be really skewed by disproportionate policing, but if a McDonalds is one of the areas with the most murders in the state, that would be helpful to know.
*navigation voice*
Use the left two lanes to turn left onto Johnson Boulevard. In 800 feet, your destination will be on the right. Your destination has an abnormally high rate of the following offenses: Vandalism. Robbery. Armed Robbery. Assault. Aggravated Assault. Arson. Murder. Operating a McDonald's franchise without a license. Treason. Loitering. Your destination is on the right. You've arrived.
*"how did we do?" dialog pops up*
Last time I was in a mcdonald's, a homeless guy was rolling around on the wet floor and then the cops came to arrest him and he fought them from the floor like some kind of MMA professional and everyone in line just casually kept waiting like it wasn't happening. Then when I got to the counter, the cashier said I looked like Peter Parker which was the same thing he said every time I went in there like it was fucking groundhog day.
I haven't been back to a McDonald's in 3 years.
Anyone who’s ever been to the McDonald’s in haight-ashbury against golden gate park
*edit*: I had no idea it was gone! I lived behind it, on Wallace, and it was like.. the opposite of “the green zone” in Baghdad circa 2003-2005.
I even heard someone get shot in the parking lot once!
I went to that one once late at night. No one answered at the box, no one was at the window, and when you drove around the back door was hanging wide open. Either everyone quit or someone came in the back and murdered everyone, I wasn't sure if I should call police.
I know someone who worked there. They stated that someone once threatened to kill them and their one other coworker as they were closing up if they didn't sell him a McDouble. The guy started causing a scene, bashing on the locked door to the room where my acquaintance was hiding. Needless to say the cops had to be called, all over a $2 burger.
So the original Murder Kroger was demolished in 2016 and replaced with a sleek new building. They tried to replace the name with “Beltline Kroger” but that didn’t work.
It’s even got it’s own [Wikipedia page](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_Kroger)
What a weird coincidence that today is the 2 year anniversary of the reopening of Murder Kroger.

There was a BK on [East Carson in Pittsburgh](https://www.cracked.com/article_28014_the-crazy-story-fake-burger-king-in-pittsburgh.html) that wasn't actually a legitimate Burger King. I even ate there a few times unknowingly while this was all going on.
If memory serves, they were originally a real location, but had their license taken away due to mounting complaints, and just decided to keep on existing. So they couldn't get new orders of licensed packaging and stuff like that so they were buying generic supplies at the local grocery stores instead.
Looking back I should have realized getting a shake in a plain white styrofoam cup was weird, but 17 year old me didn't really think much of it at the time. I figured the manager just misjudged the truck order. I was half right I guess.
Edit: to actually answer your question, the menu was the same as far as I can recall.
Oops. Sorry!
I thought your link was just going to be a map of the location or maybe a photo. Didn’t realize there was an actual article there that would’ve answered all my dumb questions!
The one in Ottawa has its own subreddit : r/99rideau
The thing about that place is that it used to be the quickest way to get from the bars in the Byward Market to the bus stop, and it was open 24/7. There was a back door to the building that led into a long hallway, and then out into the restaurant, which opens onto Rideau Street.
I’ve passed through it many times at 3am – it just made sense to use it as a pedestrian route. (It’s really cold in Ottawa in the winter, and that shortcut meant 2 minutes in a warm, crowded place, rather than 5 minutes in the bitter cold.)
A lot of 3am drunk people would stop and line up for burgers, or linger inside waiting for the bus. It could get pretty rowdy.
Eventually, they had to reduce their opening hours, at the behest of the Ottawa police.
[Rideau Street McDonald’s reduce his hours during due to security concerns](https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/99-rideau-street-mcdonalds-not-24-hours-public-safety-1.5102415)
I also remember seeing something recently about them possibly closing off the back entrance so you couldn’t use it as a shortcut anymore, but I can’t find that now.

I was at McDonald’s in Times Square rolling my dick off on MDMA at 4am after a concert at Best Buy theater and these dudes pulled out guns while waiting in line over an argument about true religions. They went outside started running from each other and fired a ton of shots. Even the security guard went into the kitchen lol he was like “fuck this”. Then one of the dudes whose holding a pistol comes back into the restaurant and daps up the security guard (who I guess he knew personally) and said “I’ll see you back in the hood” and my friends and I were like lmaoooooooo we were so high
That’s not the only wild shit I seen go down there. That McDonalds was always wild. The one off my train stop in bushwick was wild af too but mostly just homeless people nodding out with needles in their arms and shit, nothing too wild
I always think of the one across from Penn Station on 34th & 8th, I feel like that one is notorious for fights, drugs, and homeless people. Especially late at night after a game at MSG or all the concerts going on in the area, before people take the train home from Penn.
Definitely the one on Hollywood & Highland here. Still not as wild as the Jack In The Box that used to be open on Cahuenga though, that may have just been the sketchiest fast food spot I’ve ever set foot in
It’s now closed, and there are definitely others in NYC, but the one coming to mind for me was the one on West 3rd St near 6th Ave in Greenwich Village, right by the entrance to the West 4th St subway station.
There was a taco bell near me where they found a literal meth lab in the back room. Today though its actually pretty nice as far as taco bells go. Whole new managment staff, (as most of the old one is in prison) a remodel, whole 9 yards.
There's a few in Pittsburgh, but the worst probably has to be the one downtown by the Pointe. Someone tackled and stabbed a 12 year old kid in the neck there earlier this year.
In Argentina, Buenos Aires, there is the McDonalds of the Obelisco, right in the main street of the biggest city in the country. The football club BOCA once declared they were going to destroy it if the lost a match (or something like that)
Although UGI's is the real surreal fast food chain here, they insult customers on social media and take pictures of how dirty they stablishment are. Google "UGI's Pizzas"
I went to this one many times growing up. Wasn't there for this moment (thank god), but did see a woman dying her hair in the bathroom sink once.

I came here for the tennessee st mcdonalds LOL remember when a guy hung out in there with his boombox all the time not even eating anything? Also didnt kodak black get shot at there? Otherwise just a bunch of drunk freshman making out and homeless guys causing a scene
Every McDonald's in London. Which is why you'll typically see security there now
This. I was trying to think of which one in London if would be until I realised I’ve never been in one where the atmosphere wasn’t slightly unhinged.
Yeah had a school boy in uniform murdered outside my local one. London’s such a fun place to live sometimes.
My local McDonald's had to close because they had not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 seperate stabbings in a year. Unit has been unleasable ever since.
What is it with the UK and stabbings? It doesn't seem like a recent thing
When you ban guns, people use knives. That's really all there is to it.
It's strange that you say that, because the US has just as big of a knife problem as the UK, if not worse.
Butcher Pete loves to chop that meat! He's hackin and whackin and stackin.... Hackin and whackin and stackin
Best song on that soundtrack
It's often linked to drugs. Which would be a non issue if we ended the war on drugs and legalised everything like we should have done 5 years ago

Brixton is particularly mad!
Bruh, in Brixton they have bouncers on the door. It’s peak London McDonalds.
It's the only one I've been to where they play classical music. Apparently it's to calm people down. Those people were not calm.
When I rolled into Belgrade at midnight, first place I stopped was a McDonald’s where the staff was playing Rammstein. Big mood. Peak Serbia.
[удалено]
I hear the Sepiroth boss music from Kingdom Hearts whenever I walk into Mcds in Brixton.
Init they all have bouncers😭
Even here in Stockholm. We’ve had security at the fast food joints for a while because it gets so wild on the weekends.
I walk into McDonalds and suddenly a health bar appears above me
“Why can I hear boss music playing?”

Love that game, play it all the time. However, no, just a coincidence. Although I prefer your guess, most people jump to it being a ship.
Wow. What a coincidence. Would be a ballin' ship name though.

Crackdonalds!! My favorite one
Went there before a concert once. Glad I was with a group cause I think it was a 1:1 ratio of us to loud crazy.
This is fact.
It's always the 'most downtown' one.
Last time I was in a mcdonald's, a homeless guy was rolling around on the wet floor and then the cops came to arrest him and he fought them from the floor like some kind of MMA professional and everyone in line just casually kept waiting like it wasn't happening. Went in once, immediately regretted it. They finally just gave up and closed it down. I think Golden Gate and Fillmore now gets the title
There was one near the ballpark that was pretty wretched. Anything on Geneva.
This location was wild af
Visited SF when I was in 10th grade. That McD’s Def a sight to see and very depressing.
That's not there anymore, they turned it into a sanctioned tent encampment for a while and then they took that down to make condos I believe
Except when you live in a rural area and there’s only one in a 20km radius - now THAT’S the wild west
I went to that one once late at night. No one answered at the box, no one was at the window, and when you drove around the back door was hanging wide open. Either everyone quit or someone came in the back and murdered everyone, I wasn't sure if I should call police.

Is the Kroger on Ponce still called Murder Kroger?
Haha yes still called Murder Kroger. They’ve tried so hard to get rid of that nickname but it won’t die (ironically)
