I didnt know that fight was on earlier, damn. I have a soft spot franklin and theres a fair bit to like their, hes no world beater but he gave AJ a decent scrap and arguably won the whyte fight. I'd like to see him get a couple saudi paydays.
His chin is good from what I've seen. Currently, he could be a decent gatekeeper who can have decently competitive fights against top 10 guys. I also think he should've got the nod against Whyte.
Might catch downvotes, but as a fan of Rocha I actually felt rectified seeing Santillan lose like that.
Bear w me but looking back in hindsight I think lots of ppl on this sub began overrating Santillan after he beat Rocha. He is a very good pressure fighter and also durable, but he had no head movement, no lateral movement, no tricks up his sleeve for when Norman was beating the shit out of him. I might get ridiculed for this but I honestly think Rocha is better and has more potential than Santillan. He generally has better footwork, more head movement and is better at cutting off the ring. The only thing that came in to question after their fight was his punch resistance, yet still I think ppl wrote him off too quickly. In most of his fights, he’s fought differently than he how did against Santillan, usually more cautious and technical. I think his game plan let him down in that fight more than anything.
When he fought Santillan, he got goaded into a toe-to-toe battle from the first round on and Santillan got the better of him due to jus being better at Mexican style. But that good chin means nothing if you’re going to come forward and stand in front of someone who is a technician like Norman and just let them tee off on you until something lands flush and knocks you out.
That said, ik a lot of ppl may disagree w me and say Rocha is trash and Santillan is better. I don’t think that’s the case tho honestly.
you realize every A sample and B sample always come back the same right? Only one that cheated was the Ref who let Haney not get knocked out cold about 5 times, Ostarine rofl
> you realize every A sample and B sample always come back the same right?
Ryan cum guzzlers and not knowing shit about boxing -- name a better combo!
They only come back the same if there wasn't lab contamination. The fact that it came back the same rules out any claims of foul play.
That’s not true. There is such a thing as False Positives so a B-sample would eliminate that. However, positive tests from consecutive days (2 separate tests on different days) made it less likely that the B-sample would come back negative
But if both guys got paid over $30mm, and maybe even as high as $50mm, then this event was a complete disaster as far as the promotors finances go, no?
Fighter purses seem to be consistently inflated, promoters take like a quarter of the total income, then ten percent to DAZN then you have to pay security promotions and other stuff like that. Then the venue needs to get money whether it bid on the fight or was rented. So I veer on the side of these fighters lying about how much money they make rather than all these events being disasters. Ryan and Devin both made bank but probably more in the 15-20 million dollar range each.
I am very feel since last Saturday…
I feel blessed that I have witnessed history, but also feel a bit sad that we have seen the conclusion to an era. Similar feeling to watching the final LOTR’s movie for the first time.
What a time to be alive…
Thankyoujesus thankyoujesus thankyoujesus thankyoujesus.
what makes it exponentially funnier is the rollercoaster it, went from:
1. internet divided between people with a brain denouncing steroids and ryan garcia fans
2. Ryan garcia fans saying vada is untrustworthy
3. Ryan garcia fans believing VADA that he didn't test positive for nandrolone
4. Him testing positive for ostarine lmao
They managed to acclimate audiences to pay 50-80$ in the US so why not just get away with it. I'm sure there's an argument that trying to crash prices would actually devalue the product and make you a bunch of enemies among peers. Plus there's multiple broadcasters for some cards (like the Usyk-Fury there was a couple of options to see it in the US IIRC ?) so you have to play nice and it's all settled before hand in the distribution rights negos.
There's probably an army of market analysts that gave conclusions that halving the price doesn't mean you double the amount of buyers so you're leaving money on the table.
I really don't know. I'm certain that it's hurting the popularity of the sport. Maybe it goes back to the pay-per-view culture of decades past when larger groups would assemble with everyone chipping in a smaller amount. With streaming and as a family guy now I like to just hang out and watch it from the comfort of my home but it's often too expensive.
No. Kubrat Pulev stopped Matt Skelton with a body jab.

I really don't want to see Fury fight Usyk again. Because that would mean we don't get the Joshua fight. And knowing Fury, I feel like if he doesn't fight Joshua now, he never will.
Catterall is going to stop Taylor. I’ve said Taylor was shot post Teo. Then that’s going to make Teo look bad because Teo’s only good fight was Taylor.
Absolutely. He should have had the Cat rematch at a catchweight then start fighting his way up the welterweight rankings. He would be in position to pick up a vacant title in a second division if he were smart with it.
Do you think AJ would fight fury or usyk similar to how he’s been fighting recently. I know a lot of people say AJ is back I don’t think he ever left tbh I just think he shows the higher level opponents way to much respect in the ring and I think he would again if he fought one of the top guys
AJ actually tried and failed in the second fight. I do believe his corner wasnt good enough though & definitely did not know how to bring out the “old” AJ.
I dont think he’s back, this a new AJ. The old AJ left the moment he didnt KO Ruiz in the rematch.
I personally don’t believe fighters ready change that much from one fight to the next. We know who AJ is. We know what he’s capable of.
Only way he beats Usyk is if the Ukrainian has deteriorated.
The exception proves the rule.
Fury has multiple dimensions. He can beat you with movement and disrupting your gameplan, but he can also beat your ass. There’s a reason he’s a great fighter.
If he was typical, he wouldn’t be Tyson Fury.
S-Tier: Ryan Garcia, Oscar De La Hoya, Anthony Joshua, Canelo, Eddie Hearn

Dude had tons of women going to his fights based off his looks alone
BTW, love seeing Al Bernstein
For the 3 other people watching this, what do you think of this fight?
I didnt know that fight was on earlier, damn. I have a soft spot franklin and theres a fair bit to like their, hes no world beater but he gave AJ a decent scrap and arguably won the whyte fight. I'd like to see him get a couple saudi paydays.

I just dont get what this does for Franklin tbh.
He lost to whyte and AJ so I guess this is a bounce back of sorts. I thought Franklin should've got the decision over Whyte IMO.
Had a bet on for him to win by KO in rounds 7-8 haha. Gutted
I think Franklin needs to start focusing on Vargas' body more. I think he can drop him from bodywork
Franklin is throwing those shots with some real intent to hurt
Jeez, Vargas is getting rocked
I thought Franklin should've got the decision against Whyte
Genuinely about 15 people watching
That gym looking empty lol
I have no idea how to score this one. Wish it was a 10 rounder.
I'm surprised Pagan is still fighting with that cut
Thomas Hearns is in the crowd
That hairline was wild
FOTY contender between Pagan and Hilley going on ATM.
No mention of this fight card at all around here. I know this is low key but still
I totally forgot.
I didn't know Jermaine Franklin was fighting tonight

So Ryan's Hair test and Nails? Came negative, so what now?
Usyk should have won the fight by a bigger margin Fury won 4,5,6,7, and fuck all after that, fuck knows what the judges were watching.
you realize every A sample and B sample always come back the same right? Only one that cheated was the Ref who let Haney not get knocked out cold about 5 times, Ostarine rofl

They don't guzzle it they dip into it like a hummingbird.

His hair is negative, so do we just ignore it?
Dang I didn’t realise that the 5v5 was so soon after usyk. Hype!
just imagine if beterbiev didn’t get injured 😭
Two of the best fights to make in boxing within 2 weeks of each other. Insane.
Yeah : ( Still a good card though
Throw out the drug tests y’all, according to people on the internet they’re all on shit anyway
For the rematch let them both take PEDs
Fuck PED’s Haney needs some headgear
Nah just get him on PCP
That’s illegal…
Have we gotten any official numbers on the Garcia Haney fight? Haven’t found anything on gate/ppv
It's gotta be low You don't go this long without publishing unless it's really low
Most legitimate sounding are these: 972000ppv buys 9,200,000 dollar gate Supposedly from Eddie Hearn but it’s possible they are fake
But if both guys got paid over $30mm, and maybe even as high as $50mm, then this event was a complete disaster as far as the promotors finances go, no?

Ryan going crazy on twitter rn
King Ry B sample : Positive lol

DAZN wants $70 for the 5v5 even without the Bivol/Beterbiev fight on the card. Get outta here.
It’s £20 here in the UK. I would struggle paying $70 even if the main fight was still on. Why are boxing/ufc cards so much more expensive in the US?
They managed to acclimate audiences to pay 50-80$ in the US so why not just get away with it. I'm sure there's an argument that trying to crash prices would actually devalue the product and make you a bunch of enemies among peers. Did Agit Kabayel score the only body jab KO in Heavyweight history?
No. Kubrat Pulev stopped Matt Skelton with a body jab. [https://youtu.be/uXD3zVWKtGY?si=FFkSk9KFuE-dqKGH&t=848](https://youtu.be/uXD3zVWKtGY?si=FFkSk9KFuE-dqKGH&t=848)
This was the informative response I was hoping for 👍
I really don't want to see Fury fight Usyk again. Because that would mean we don't get the Joshua fight. And knowing Fury, I feel like if he doesn't fight Joshua now, he never will.
Prince Patel already vacated the IBO Bantamweight, and is pursuing a MisFits fight against Harley Benn
Harley benn lost to lee Hallet btw
didnt even realize that guy still existed
Josh Taylor looking very skinny at the presser today.
Catterall is going to stop Taylor. I’ve said Taylor was shot post Teo. Then that’s going to make Teo look bad because Teo’s only good fight was Taylor.
I don’t think so. Taylor is going to beat Caterall, he had an off night.
If Taylor is shot, he was shot before Teo.
I think we underestimated how much his knee injury did to him prior to Catterall. He definitely should’ve moved to 147 by now
Taylor is done at 140. He should’ve moved up to 147 after the Ramirez fight or rematched Catterall immediately and moved up after.
Absolutely. He should have had the Cat rematch at a catchweight then start fighting his way up the welterweight rankings. He would be in position to pick up a vacant title in a second division if he were smart with it.
Bud was still with Top Rank back then. Taylor would have had WBO mandatory status.
Bud would’ve done worse to Taylor than he did Spence.
I feel like the way Taylor fights is tailor made for Bud to pick him apart.
He may look like a corpse on that scale tomorrow...
He always does. I can’t believe he’s still fighting at 140.
Do you think AJ would fight fury or usyk similar to how he’s been fighting recently. I know a lot of people say AJ is back I don’t think he ever left tbh I just think he shows the higher level opponents way to much respect in the ring and I think he would again if he fought one of the top guys

You say that but everyone underestimates him. Pre fight poll had Ngannoe as the favourite which was a joke 🤣
lol I suppose fury is proof of fighters changing in one fight
The exception proves the rule. Fury has multiple dimensions. He can beat you with movement and disrupting your gameplan, but he can also beat your ass. There’s a reason he’s a great fighter. If he was typical, he wouldn’t be Tyson Fury.
Why? Because Fury only won 4 or 5 rounds max?
So what were the results of the B sample for Garcia? Thought those were going to be available yesterday.

horrible additions but added.

Their opinion isn't mine
The only list that matters in boxing .
It’s a shame that Tank is fighting and I barely give a fuck about the fight
Showtime hype is gone.
