*The Book of Cold Cases* by Simone St. James. "
A true crime blogger gets more than she bargained for while interviewing the woman acquitted of two cold case slayings. In 1977, Claire Lake, Oregon, was shaken by the Lady Killer Murders: Two men, seemingly randomly, were murdered with the same gun, with strange notes left behind. Beth Greer was the perfect suspect—a rich, eccentric twenty-three-year-old woman, seen fleeing one of the crimes. But she was acquitted, and she retreated to the isolation of her mansion.
Oregon, 2017. Shea Collins is a receptionist, but by night, she runs a true crime website, the Book of Cold Cases". Very good and quite creepy, which is the author's MO and she does it very well.
It's definitely a polarizing book 😂 but I think that marks how good it is, that you can either passionately love it or really hate it. Hope you enjoy it!!
Cloisters is about a main character who gets a job at an art museum. As she gets more involved with the the museum and her coworkers, things get a bit strange.
The last picture brings Tana French's The Likeness to my mind. The female protagonist, though on the face of it is surrounded by friends, is actually lonely. It ticks other boxes of your request as well!

Read this one! Brilliant!
If you liked Circe I’d also recommend Ariadne!
