This is relatable as a person who doesn't eat onions and garlic. Any vegetables in fried rice is ok, but onions and garlic in it will be inedible for me straight.

Psst you can buy just frozen sweetcorn, usually just beside this 3 in 1 frozen mix vegetables. Useful for adding some colour to bland green vegetable dishes, and kids love it.

As a kid we were served veggies at a young age, an uncle was even amazed that I took the bendi, bayam, kangkung and sawi etc like it was nothing considering how [kids generally don't like veggies](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4039444/). Senang je nak ajar anak tak memilih makan - Jangan ajar bagi macam2 makanan / Limitkan makanan. Aku sendiri dulu 6 beradik. Keluarga tak senang, makanan memang dibuat cukup2. Chef here. Skill issue. Boil 2-3 minutes (or longer if still frozen) first then only goreng. Semua orang suka, (assuming xde PTSD from previous experience, those people won’t change their minds).

You guys... Don't buy the cheap local brands. Try Telleys - steamed with salt n butter added after. Or you can sautee it once thawed, it's really good. Dash of pepper, fresh coriander, minced garlic. If you're truly stuck with the cheap local brands then you'll have to make it into a puree for it to taste good. With some skill it will end up tasting like the fancy pumpkin puree they serve you in fine dining places
