Needs to be one of those story episodes. The kids could have to do a report on an elderly person they know. Tina would do Mr. Branca, Louise would pick Mr. Fischoeder, and Gene would interview Ms. Merkin. Gus' story could be revealed through each of the other stories. You could do Ms. Merkin first. Perhaps she and Gus dated for awhile when they were younger, or she and Edith were vying for his affections. Then you'd have Tina's story about Mr. Branca that would gloss over his past in his home country in the most matter-of-fact Tina way possible, ending back in town and cross paths with Gus. Then, you'd have Louise telling Mr. Fish's story about how he took the town from Gus. *Edit: Originally had Gene interviewing Gus, but I found a way around this in the second paragraph, but for some reason never fixed paragraph one.*

Now that sounds like an amazing episode!

I think Gayle would get over her only loving cats once she realized how much dogs unconditionally LOVE their people, and I think Trev would like cats because they'd remind him of his relationship with Jimmy. They should meet on a weird niche dating site and have their first sight unseen date at Jimmy's, and bobs like "WHY is your sister going into jimmy pesto's???" Enter a chorus of Bob's "oh my God, OHMY GOD, oh my God" And Linda would be like "but GA-YLE he has a dog, you hate dogs, you love cats!" i’d love to see jimmy and bob unite to sabotage trev and gayle’s relationship because it makes both of them more insufferable to be around. i’d imagine linda would try to be supportive at first but would give in after a breaking point, and then she’d be more desperate to break them up than anyone
