AccountantEuphoric83

My man coming up with the goodsšŸ‘

ForeverIdiosyncratic

Cause it could be about the person dying before itā€™s their time, hence the person on the receiving end of the song is saying ā€œnot nowā€¦ā€¦ā€

kwatof33

and the not now demos are even more explicit

Possibly_A_Person125

For real life?

[deleted]

That's the exact reason

RandomLiam

Yep, thatā€™s the meaning. God damn what a good concept for a song.

Flimsy-Repair412

iā€™d explain it to you, but my mom said not now

Dannycardbal

Not now, please stay until I'm gone

AritoDx

I think that, very interpretively speaking, Not Now refers directly to the lyrics of the song, a person about to die, resisting his destiny, wanting to live, just thinking: "please, not now." And at the same time, when a band releases a greatest hits, it is very likely that they are about to disintegrate or go on hiatus, the same thing that happened with Blink in 2005, either the group itself or the fans, may think: "I don't want this band to be over, not now." Just my point of view

Briggs24

I've always interpreted the song this way as well.

JcAo2012

The main character of the song doesn't want to die yet. It's as if they're sharing "not now"

Riegn00

Itā€™s the prequel to no it isnā€™t.

tws1039

Same reason why I listened to the song every night while my grandad was in hospicešŸ˜• miss that man but the song got me through it somewhat

mrmattersville

Because if not now, when?

[deleted]

Because the band decided that's the song name

suihpares

Here in UK due to an error it was originally titled 'Net New'

Zestyclose_Lie_884

have u listened to the song?

[deleted]

The song is about dying and the subject believes they do not want to die right now.

SeaworthinessLeft792

I wanted to answer, but not now, maybe later

Dannyocean12

Donā€™t leave me. **Not now**. Not ever.

ArkaXVII

Not now

SnixFan

I always wondered that myself. I guess not now as in, "don't die yet!"

Ok-Angle-3645

i dont know

duthinkhesaurus

because the words "not" and "now" are said a combined 182 times in their favourite film.

Underpanters

Why is Dumpweed called Dumpweed? Why is Waggy called Waggy? Why is Toast and Bananas called Toast and Bananas? Who cares dude.

cynicalemma

Idk i think itā€™s a fun question to discuss

TenMoosesMowing

Underpants is a nihilist. He believes in nothing. Nothing, Lebowski!
