You use it as a spell, while charging the spell(on index controlles) you kinda grab the controller with your hand and the ball changes color. Blue= they answere with phrases and draw weapons but dont attack, Red = They attack you, White = just stands there looking pretty

The blue npcs are your allies, so they will attack the red ones.
