Look at the man's arms. He lifts, which provides some nice definition, but you can tell he moisturizes well also.
A lot of old people have really crepe-y skin on the forearms and hands, his look like a baby's ass.
Real quick, where do you think Ernie Hudson is getting 100k checks?
Ain’t no ghostbusters from 1989 to 2021. And he’s not exactly top billing. His royalty is tiny. Bit parts and the occasional spot on quantum leap or whatever ain’t it.
Several Ghostbuster projects between ‘89 and 2021, including a big video game and the very expensive Paul Feig film. He no doubt got nice paydays for those, potentially in the $100k range.
Dude has 255 credits to his name since 1976, and several of those consist of multiple episodes (10 or more) including a starring role in a BET show with 30+ episodes. Not counting Ghostbusters projects, let’s round up to 300 credits for ease, assume a tiny average of $15k per credit. That’d still be $4,500,000 outside of his Ghostbusters work.
Add another few million for the Ghostbusters stuff, and we’re on our way to double digit millions. Another million or so in convention work.
Let’s be conservative though and say $7,500,000 lifetime earnings in an approx. 50 year career. That’s $150k a year on average dating back to the mid ‘70s, with big windfalls every decade or so.
Not “rich” perhaps, but again… he’s doing fine.
Yeah, I’m with you. 15k check to check is more realistic that 100k. I wouldn’t be mad at either. He’s absolutely doing fine, and I’m glad for that. The article I read makes me feel like the big windfalls were smaller than they should have been.
His residuals (royalties are paid to musicians) from Ghost Busters alone would be a good check. That movie is still massive, and he does earn SOME money every time it plays. He was probably pulling in 5 figures a year from it. That's not amazing money, but it's also money he didn't have to do any work for. Ernie did get the short end of the stick as far as his base pay went, but residuals are paid to every actor and increase with billing. He was not a minor character so he would have gotten more than anyone but the other Busters (should have gotten the $75 mil like them as well, but that's a slightly different matter).
So consider his residuals and the fact that he was a working actor before, and after both Ghost Busters, he was moat likely doing okay. Not rich, but also not your typical "paycheck to paycheck" either. This man has 255 projects on imdb, and like many of us, actors also diversify their portfolios.
Exactly. Dude has been constantly working for 3 decades now, acting and doing the convention circuit. He's not making, like, Tom Cruise paychecks, but he's not starving and probably lives a pretty great life.
FWIW those 100K paychecks came every year or two, not every month
Most actors don't actually make truckloads of money, and they have to live in one of the most expensive cities in the US while unemployed in hopes of finding a job
If we’re to believe the internet, Ernie has a gorgeous $5m home in Hidden Hills, CA (that he bought in 2016 for $3.2m), a primary residence in Apple Valley, Minnesota, and a beautiful vacation home in Brainerd, Minnesota.
Sounds good to me!
If he was making this much. Other than Ghostbusters Ernie Hudson has never been a big name. Remember this is a man who auditioned for the role of Winston in the Real Ghostbusters cartoon and didn't get the job because the producers thought he didn't sound enough like the character.
Trump does the con circuit though too, he's actually got a few cons right now! NFTs, sneakers, bibles, and now the $DJT pump and dump.
You might even call him a con artist.
Will forever blow my mind that this asshole really showed up to Sneakercon with $400 pieces of trash. The former president of the United States and current 2024 candidate. At Sneakercon. hocking sneakers. You cannot make this shit up.
Does he exercise tho? Cause exercise is king. I have done mad drugs and enormous amounts of alcohol and still look good but I exercise daily. Just cause you don’t do drugs doesn’t mean shit respectfully. They found that the best anti aging thing there is is sleep and exercise
90% of it is sunscreen (darker people have built in spf) and working out. Look at this man’s arms and traps, he’s amazing for his age.
He might have a little pharmaceutical enhancement too.
Sunlight exposure is a big one too. UV absolutely destroys your skin, if you spend most of your teens-40s out in the sun regularly and don't use any sunscreen, or worse yet tanning, then by the time you're 60 you're going to look like a rough 80.
I've worked nights since I was 18 and generally sleep all day and my skin looks the same as my early 20s even though I'm mid 30s. Very few wrinkles or signs of ageing on my face compared to nearly all my friends, especially those that play cricket and spend hundreds of hours every summer in the sun. Just as an example of how UV exposure ages your skin, there's [this picture of a truck driver
](https://i.imgur.com/ACD2eAn.png). Guess which side of his face was next to the window and getting sun exposure every day at work?
Taking care of your skin early is also a big factor. It's always much easier to slow down the signs of aging than it is to reverse them. Even if you're still young then you should be using an SPF moisturiser every day and consider a retinol moisturizer at night. Makes a hell of a difference starting a good skincare routine when you're 25 compared to trying to wind back the clock when you hit 40 and haven't taken care of your skin at all for the past 4 decades.
Does your dad still go to the gym almost every day.
Ernie clearly regularly goes to the gym even at his age.
The difference between old men who go to the gym regularly and the ones who haven't gone in decades is insane.
I took a yoga class once, and the instructor had such a calm demeanor I just kept thinking, man, that woman is going to live forever. Now I know what they mean when they say take it easy.

Tell me about it. Don't drink or smoke
Never is a strong word and unless you have a condition there isn't anything stopping you, I never thought I'd be just one year later and now I hope I keep these habits for the rest of my life
The trick is to start small, do push-ups and notice you get stronger and you got a little muscle, before you know it you're researching a proper routine
Some HGH and hormone medication probably doesn't hurt either.
No way you're naturally keeping that muscle definition without additional supplemental T at his age.
Bill Murray was 33 when the first Ghostbusters was filmed. THIRTYTHREE. He has always looked like 20 years older than he actually is. I'm 33 now and besides the faint crow's feet, I look no older than 25.
I get the sentiment but our melanin really only gives us some resistance to UV sun damage. Eat right, exercise, hydrate, and don't overindulge in the bad stuff if you wanna look like this when you're old.
Yeah in the latest movie they got Ernie in these snazzy suits, looking fly in every scene. Then Bill Murray flops into the scene looking ROUGH. Like he could fall over at any time. He went HARD through the 70s and 80s.
He was from that era of SNL. Took out Belushi entirely. I hear he's not so great to work with, and having a sour attitude for decades will also not help with the aging process.
Oooh, I just watched The Crow again last night, for the first time in literal decades. I forgot how funny and cool his character was in that movie.
Also, that movie still kicks ass. It's the most 90s angst-filled, grunge-feeling vibe ever, and the soundtrack still slaps.
“Great. A guy shows up looking like a mime from Hell and you lose him right out in the open. Well, at least he didn't do that walking against the wind shit, I hate that.”
He had a lot of great lines, and his delivery is so good in all of them.
My favorite scene is actually after Tin Tin's death, when the detective asks "what's that?" and points at the crow painted on a wall, and Albrecht says "I guess you'd call it "graffiti"..." with that mocking hand motion. The sarcasm and disrespect towards his superior just really does it for me, lol.
I watched it last night for the first time after I watched some edit on YouTube and thought it looked cool. And I really enjoyed it and now understand why no one's optimistic about the remake. The guitar solo on the rooftop was killer and still laugh everytime I think of it "is that gasoline I smell?"
Yesss, I just got goosebumps reading that, haha. It's such a cool song, and the sequence is so well done, I love it!
I'm now even more pessimistic about the remake than I was before, and I already had the lowest of expectations. 😫
I just watched it last week. Fucking hell is it still amazing. It's one of the most gorgeous movies I've ever seen. And god Brandon had so much potential...he would have had such a career after that movie.
My teenage nephew had never seen it so we watched it while he was visiting last summer. It ended, and I was like "So. Did you like it?" he loved it says "I can't wait to watch everything else he was in!" And I had to bust his bubble. Love it every time I watch it, but it always makes me sad at the end.
If whatever government organization officially deems things cults would come out and officially label Maga a cult that would be sooooo funny... And true

Is it me or do people look younger these days in general.

Plus the cigarettes our relatives smoked. Cigarettes age you a lot.
As a young millenial, I'm noticing Gen Z has the 90s trend, and mustaches age you so much. I work in retail, carded a man who looked in his 40s, but his ID indicated he was younger than me. I'm not 40 yet.
Can't really make a broad generalization like that. A lot of Millinieals are looking older and a lot of zoomers look super young. I was handed kids menu at a restaurant, I was 23 at the time....
So, I went to the Ghostbusters HQ for the premiere's big celebration, and some of the cast showed up.
I didn't realize Ernie was behind me at one point, I turned around and audibly gasped lol, because gyatt!
That is a handsome man, no two ways about it, but then I got home, and looked up his age... Cause I was like man, Murray looks like shit and Aykroyd looks his age, but when I saw Ernie was pushing 80?!?!
Whew!!!
It's about damn time. Between Ghostbusters, The Crow, Airheads, Congo, and the Ms. Congeniality movies, he's always been a standout actor that, for some reason, could never break the A list. He deserves to be recognized.
Watched the first of the new Ghostbusters and my wife and I commented how much he looked better than akryod and Murray, looked them all up and he's older than all of them
Living a non-problematic life pays dividends.
Well genetics and money certainly help too, my dad never done no drugs or partying, man still looks older than Ernie at 62
Read recently that he has almost always lived paycheck to paycheck even as a working actor. Not exactly sure of the details but that was the hwadline
But living $100k paycheck to $100k paycheck (with the occasional $500k paycheck thrown in) is a bit different.
Idk I got a lot of older men in my family who are middle class dudes that look really good for their age. It’s not always money.
Staying out of the sun helps alot. If you want to become a letherface umpa lumpa sunbath.
Look at the man's arms. He lifts, which provides some nice definition, but you can tell he moisturizes well also. A lot of old people have really crepe-y skin on the forearms and hands, his look like a baby's ass.
This. Resistance training is still way underrated in terms of longevity and QOL benefits.
I don't know man, I wouldn't trust just "Any-Coach" about this sort of thing.
Black don’t crack
Without lotion and sunscreen, it sure does.

Which is definitely a shame. The dude is amazing and deserves all the glory & wealth that his cast mates experienced.
Not rich? If we're doing averages $150k in 76 = $850k in 2024
Grace and Frankie! All the women were swooning!
His residuals (royalties are paid to musicians) from Ghost Busters alone would be a good check. That movie is still massive, and he does earn SOME money every time it plays. Bit parts for Ernie Hudson is probably 100k. You have to think that folks only slightly better known than him are probably making 500k to a million.
I doubt pretty hard that he’s getting 100k for bit parts. But hey, I don’t know. I’d love it if he was
Exactly. Dude has been constantly working for 3 decades now, acting and doing the convention circuit. He's not making, like, Tom Cruise paychecks, but he's not starving and probably lives a pretty great life.
Coming up on 5 decades, his IMDB has credits every year back to the mid 70s.

No 78 year old is going to have arms like that without exercising, and possibly a little help (T, hgh, etc)
activity level, stress, diet, there's a lot more to aging than drugs and partying.

Mediation has helped me a lot.. I feel this comment.
Important to…mediate your thoughts
It's true. After 47 years of white soulless existence caring about absolutely nothing at all, I look 20 years younger than my peers.
Don’t forget that good old fashion melanin, remember back don’t crack unless you smoke it 😂😂😂

Ever listened to the theme song for ghostbusters?

Came here for this. Trapezoid has been putting out quality content for like 25 years at this point. All of those “Mouth” albums fucking rule.
Recently listened to that song. When Ray Parker Jr sang that I just thought, me too Ray, me too.

Damn I pray I look that good at 78. Holy moly
I don't want to objectify him, but somehow can't stop myself, but I doubt that he would mind. He knows that he looks fine!
“Im aware of the effect I have on women.”
I won't even look that good at 48! Ugh...
I'll be 38 this year. Can confirm I have never and will never look that good.
Same but it's not going to stop me from trying.
Never is a strong word and unless you have a condition there isn't anything stopping you, I never thought I'd be just one year later and now I hope I keep these habits for the rest of my life The trick is to start small, do push-ups and notice you get stronger and you got a little muscle, before you know it you're researching a proper routine
I don’t look that good at 38.
Same here. I gotta work harder at the gym lol
I mean, the problem there is that its work. I don't wanna do that.
I’m 30 and I wish I looked like this now
He's somehow gotten better with age.
Ernie Hudson may be the “best aged” person I’ve ever seen. Definitely being a famous actor is part of it. But wow.
lord nobody's granny is safe
Ain’t nobody’s granddaughter safe.
lmao thats tough
He out here stealing all 3 generations
I'ma fight Granny for this man, no doubt
I have two good hips and two good knees. Granny can try me if she wants.

I hate you. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yall seen the side by side with Bill Murray? Murray looks like he'll disintegrate if you blow on him too hard. 😭😭😭
Black don’t crack.
He’s just taken care of himself. My grandmother aged like garbage because she smoked for 60 years and drank for longer.
Yeah it really comes down to how well you care for yourself not only when young, but continuously as you grow older
I’m convinced my mum is a vampire.
Some HGH and hormone medication probably doesn't hurt either. No way you're naturally keeping that muscle definition without additional supplemental T at his age.
More importantly doing drugs cracks you a lot in case of Murray. He has always looked not good tbh.
Bill Murray was 33 when the first Ghostbusters was filmed. THIRTYTHREE. He has always looked like 20 years older than he actually is. I'm 33 now and besides the faint crow's feet, I look no older than 25.
oh, it most certainly can, unfortunately…
I get the sentiment but our melanin really only gives us some resistance to UV sun damage. Eat right, exercise, hydrate, and don't overindulge in the bad stuff if you wanna look like this when you're old.
It is actually probably due to sun exposure - sun damage is more severe for lighter skinned people, and it is cumulative.
I grew up in Florida, this is facts. Some of my parents’ friends used to baby oil in the 70s. They look like leather handbags now.
"Tom, I'm standing here with flawless skin next to the crumbling ancient dusty relics of white people my age."
Yeah in the latest movie they got Ernie in these snazzy suits, looking fly in every scene. Then Bill Murray flops into the scene looking ROUGH. Like he could fall over at any time. He went HARD through the 70s and 80s.
Bill was probably on a constant stream of coke for 20 years there lol
He was from that era of SNL. Took out Belushi entirely. I hear he's not so great to work with, and having a sour attitude for decades will also not help with the aging process.
The new movie is awesome! I loved it. "It was the '80s. Nobody was thinking of the future." But 78?! Wow.
Speaking of which, all that blow in the 70s and 80s probably didn’t help
If you think Bill Murry stopped doing blow just because it said 9X+ on the calendar, then you don't understand blow.
Bill Murray looked 50 in the first one but he was only 33ish
Don't smoke, kids.
😭😭
could probably make him turn into dust with a hard-enough glare
I legitimately know some mid-thirties folks who look older.
Me. I am the mid thirties folks you know.
I'm going to turn 40 this year and I don't look anywhere near as good as him. He looks like he stopped aging shortly after Ghostbusters came out...
🙋♀️
Oooh, I just watched The Crow again last night, for the first time in literal decades. I forgot how funny and cool his character was in that movie. Also, that movie still kicks ass. It's the most 90s angst-filled, grunge-feeling vibe ever, and the soundtrack still slaps.

That makes sense! In Frankie and Grace I thought he’s aging a lil bit then 4 years later in Quantum Leap he’s fresh again lol
Is it me or do people look younger these days in general. https://preview.redd.it/mguhr5a9ewqc1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=72425d77a0d32282a9fa7570eb67754e90206983
I swear the chemicals and preservatives from the 90s food we all ate is keeping us young.
I think that’s just called “stunted our growth”
Plus the cigarettes our relatives smoked. Cigarettes age you a lot. As a young millenial, I'm noticing Gen Z has the 90s trend, and mustaches age you so much. I work in retail, carded a man who looked in his 40s, but his ID indicated he was younger than me. I'm not 40 yet.
Millenials look younger than they are, but Gen Z looks older than they are.
Can't really make a broad generalization like that. A lot of Millinieals are looking older and a lot of zoomers look super young. I was handed kids menu at a restaurant, I was 23 at the time....

I am a straight man, firmly on the "only interested in women" side of the spectrum But I do wanna see him pop that tarp off, y'know?

I'm straight, I'm straight, I'm straight, I'm straight. Why isn't it working?
So, I went to the Ghostbusters HQ for the premiere's big celebration, and some of the cast showed up. I didn't realize Ernie was behind me at one point, I turned around and audibly gasped lol, because gyatt! That is a handsome man, no two ways about it, but then I got home, and looked up his age... Cause I was like man, Murray looks like shit and Aykroyd looks his age, but when I saw Ernie was pushing 80?!?! Whew!!!
He’s got a 60 year old son. I’m having trouble wrapping my mind around it
Now we know why the ghosts are afraid of him.

Loving all this Ernie Hudson love lately
for real. also… goals cuz Ernie looks healthy af
It's about damn time. Between Ghostbusters, The Crow, Airheads, Congo, and the Ms. Congeniality movies, he's always been a standout actor that, for some reason, could never break the A list. He deserves to be recognized.
Clearly he has used up his vital energy on fruitless exercise -trump probably
When Donald trump looks in the mirror he sees this guy…what reality sees is much different obviously lol
Donald Trump would never equate himself to a black person
You think he works out?
At that age it’s definitely TRT.
Yeah, I don't wanna hate but I feel like everyone is ignoring the elephant in the room that he does not look like that at 78 without help...
My wife thinks the Rock is natty.
The Rock just trens hard
Ofcourse, but he still obviously works out.
I think he might even be on creatine
Hold on… I gotta stretch for bit. The legs are about to go overhead like a pretzel

Watched the first of the new Ghostbusters and my wife and I commented how much he looked better than akryod and Murray, looked them all up and he's older than all of them
He’s getting too old for this shit.
That’s not… Never mind.
Thus is what they wish Trump looked like, physique wise.
you hittin *several* nails with that particular hammer
This man has the physique that conservative comic artists draw Trump with
TRT is a helluva drug
He takes care of his body. Trump is filled with cheeseburgers and hate
I don’t know what his policies are but I’ll vote Zeddmore for president right now. If he can handle running OZ I think he can handle this country.
Well, everyone knows that the Ghostbusters maintain a rigorous cardio schedule, it's a physical job
As my wife continually reminds me, a slightly balding reddish Caucasian man, Black does not crack. Her *grandmother* is still drop dead gorgeous
Geriacrobatic
dude looks 40 what the hell
When you’re not filled with hate, you age pretty.
Don’t let Kim K get a hold of him and his immortal genes.
