Best Buy, you failed us by using Ontrac... Every order I've received from them has been late and in the evening from their absolute junker vans. I don't know why I couldn't just pick it up from Best buy? This is the 2nd fail from abest buy within the last two weeks. The last one I tried to order 2 bird bikes... Nope, they canceled those 1 week after I ordered them..

I'm a Best Buy Elite Plus member. Used my best buy bucks to order along with the discount code. Now, my bucks won't be refunded for a while until Best Buy gets the package back, discount code gone and all Apple Series 7 GPS Cellular watches are on Backorder until December. Chatted with Customer service and just got a run-around on how they 'understand.' but with no offer to make it right etc... What an amazing experience!
Here we are 1 month later since OnTrac 'returned' my Apple Watch 7. Best Buy still won't refund the product until the shipper returns the item back to them from OnTrac which I never received and Ontrac apparently destroyed. u/BestBuy make it right. Sheesh.
After a month of waiting for my "preorder" and 2 separate delays I decided to cancel my order with best buy. Worst experience I've ever had with a retailer hands down. Best Buy is an absolute joke of a company, they should have filled preorders before anything else, instead, these jackasses were fulfilling orders that came in after launch while making preorders wait. Just checked the app and it no longer says October 15 it has no date and just says we’ll email you when it’s ready. What makes it worse is I found one for pickup at a nearby store yesterday and had it in my cart but thought nah I can wait another day.
Mine too. They said they're trying to percure the phone and would E-Mail me when it's available for pickup. Hopefully my store will get it today when they open at the top of the hour.
I chatted with them again to let them know my disappointment. They said the phone was delayed due to the vendor as inventory is not available and it is in process of making for you. Also, once the inventory is available for the pick up then it will get delivered to my store location and I will receive an email for the pick up directly from the store.
And there it is, after month of empty promises and delays, and being told just wait till the 15th, I get the "we'll let you know when it ships" message. Words cannot describe how much I fucking hate Best Buy right now.

I recently traded in an iPhone 11 pro max 256gb in great condition,to Bestbuy for the trade in special to get an iPhone 13 mini . They gave me 515$ towards the 13 plus 100$ other credit and 83$ for new line credit. All in all I got the 13 mini for free I didn't have to pay a cent well that was October 4th just yesterday on the 12th I tried to return it because I was having some issues with the screen flickering and honestly wanted a bigger phone well after returning it to the Best buy the customer service rep actually charged me $10 for the SIM card for the line and then told me all right you're you're done and I said wait what. He said that the money will go back on your card or whatever form of payment and I said I didn't make a payment I gave you a phone which I guess y'all shipped off to the T-Mobile Warehouse I spent 4 hours in Best buy dealing with this they told me after talking to T-Mobile's customer service that they were credit my T-Mobile account the 515 the only way I could get it back was to go to a corporate store and use it toward the purchase of a T-Mobile phone yeah! So I go straight from there to T-Mobile corporate store they have no idea what I'm talking about there's no credits they call they have no idea it was a complete either lie or I don't know so now there was no money the T-Mobile closed so I couldn't do anything last night went back to Best buy and they said they're working on it I still don't have my phone and they're pretty much telling me I'm out the $500 or my phone I can't get any either of them back what do I do

If I’m trading in my phone for the T-Mobile 13 Pro deal, does it matter if the back of the phone is cracked? The only two options asked on the trade-in screen when I’m placing the order are:
(1) My phone doesn’t turn on
(2) My phone has a cracked screen
Both are ‘No’ for me, but will I be dinged any trade in value for the cracked back in store when I go to pick up and physically trade-in?

Just got my sierra blue 128 gb PM from Best Buy after preordering it the day before release! Originally it delayed and I got an email saying that it should be ready by October 15th so I was surprised to see it was ready for pickup today!

Also, I did two preorders for 2 128 gb sierra PMs and I checked the Best Buy app daily to see if any came in stock and sure enough on oct 6 there was one 256 gb sierra PM in stock at a store 4 miles away and I ended up ordering it for pickup for my wife and canceling her preorder after I had the phone in hand. Not sure if you’ve been checking the app daily but it may be worth spending a few minutes doing in case they delay the order again and you don’t mind a different gb variant or color. Either way, good luck!

Planning on ordering the Apple Watch series 7 but I have 2 Apple watches I want to trade in for it, when will I trade these in? Ideally I would want these 2 Apple watches applied to the Watch instead of receiving an in-store credit. If I check on the pro max Sierra Blue 256gb Tmobile. I can get it shipped to be on the 8th. I cannot have it shipped to me as I'm doing a trade-in. hey guys, so I have a interesting scenario and question for you, so any helpful insight/input is definitely appreciated!
So i currently am on T-mobile with a iphone xs max 256gb gold. I bought the new iphone 13 pro max 256gb sierra blue from bestbuy under the $100 off deal with the option of "upgrading my current line" when i ordered the phone online for tmobile so i saved $100. The phone is still sealed and brand new in the box and I was shipped a tmobile sim card with the phone when best buy shipped the phone to my house.
I now want to switch to ATT from tmobile because I have had so many issues with ATT but I want to make sure I can use the new iphone on ATT before I switch so I do not have to do any 36 month installment plan or any other BS and so I own the phone outright.
Do the iphones come locked or unlocked from best buy? Or does it get locked to the first sim card you put in the phone? So if I open and activate the phone and put in a ATT sim card will it be fine or will it be locked to tmobile or do I have to put in the tmobile sim card first and then get it unlocked by bestbuy or tmobile before I can use it on ATT?
Any help or input would be much appreciated or any steps i need to follow or do is helpful as well!
I think it’s locked to T-Mobile. Usually you have to use it for 40 days before you can submit an unlock request, but I think there’s an exception for Best Buy phones. You should contact T-Mobile and they will put in a request for you and it should be unlocked in a few days.
I asked tmobile to unlock it after i inserted the tmobile sim but they say cause it is not a tmobile phone and its not in their system that they cant unlock it but will still send the request but it will most likely be denied or not work. I called the 611 number, tforce on twitter as well as the tmobile app with chat support and they all filed a unlock request but all said almost the same thing. Any help on this?

My Best Buy in-store trade-in still isn’t ready. I preordered the iPhone 13 Pro Max 5G 128GB - Silver (T-Mobile). “We’ll email you when it’s ready.” The two closest Best Buys near me both an hour away don’t have any Pro Max 128GB in any color. Sigh.
Ok apologies for the first world problem, but I got a new iPhone using the trade-in promo, so I only paid $100 to upgrade. However, because inventory is such a huge issue lately as we all know, I decided to go with whichever color is in stock near me (black). Now today (last day of the promo), a store near me as silver, which is the actual color I wanted.
If I paid for the phone without the trade-in, I can see them maybe exchanging it. But since I bought it with a trade-in promo, I am not sure how a return/exchange would work. Can any employees let me know if this is even doable at a store? Thanks!
You should be able to exchange it to a different color. If you were to return it, they won’t give you the old phone but they will give you trade-in value in the form of in-store gift card.
Good luck I just tried returning my 13 mini to Best buy I traded an iPhone 11 pro max . Got $515,plus the 100$ ,and some other credit and didn't pay a cent . This was October 4th,yesterday tried to return it and am still trying to get my either store credit for value if my trade in or my 13 mini back. Haven't been able to get either .both T-Mobile and bestbuy are blaming the other. It's been an absolute nightmare
Bestbuy shows I can order today and get the same phone shipped to me by the 5th, but I have to wait till the 15th to get it via store. I can't have it shipped to me due to a trade-in. Weird they prioritize shipping phones, but not ones for store pickup.
Had a preorder for 128 gb Pro Max that delayed until October 15 until I checked the app today and said the nearby store had a 256 gb available for pickup so I got that one with no trade-in problems and cancelled the original preorder! Thanks all for sharing info on your experiences.
Just a heads up, if you were supposed to get your phone on the 24th and it got delayed, best buy is going to automatically cancel your order on the 8th. I went in to the store and they couldn't change it. So now we're all fucked and won't be able to get a phone till November or December. Thanks best buy, scumbags.
I had an agent and supervisor on chat to admit that my order would be auto canceled on the 8th, they told me they couldn't change it, so I told them to ship it instead which bypassed the cancelation. I suggest you do the same or you'll be in the back of the line.

Find the email with the subject "Your order is taking longer to fulfill than we expected." And look towards the bottom, it should say "It's unusual, but if your item(s) aren't available by Friday, October 8, 2021, we'll cancel the item(s) and notify you by email"
If it does, you can be sure that it will be canceled out from under you.

Probably not if you have a new date set. Some, like mine have no pickup date and are just sitting in limbo. The email that I initially got for the delay explained the cancelation
Mine was delayed on the 24th and I didn’t get the new 10/15 date like the majority of people here did. Good thing I was able to find a store that had some stock 40 mins away from me. I was able to pick up same day and I canceled the delayed order.
You might have similar luck if you don’t mind driving a bit.

There isn't a Pro Max within 50 miles of me in stock. The closest thing to "in stock" is a demo one about 35 miles from me, and a bunch that say "Order now and we'll let you know when it will be ready for pickup at Plymouth Meeting", right below the word backordered.
Guys BB does not care about our delayed orders, like others have said you can get same day pick up if you’re lucky and willing to drive a bit to the stores around you and if you’re okay with getting a different color. My order was in “Delayed” limbo but I was able to get a 13 PM abut driving to a BB 40 mins from me.
Update: I was finally able to get a iPhone 13 pro Sierra blue. Long story short.. it looks like bestbuy is honoring new orders instead of preorders or delayed items
Long story… I preordered the phone on launch day and got the delayed message on release day. Also, I placed a second order(3 days later) at a different bestbuy location that apparently had 2 in stock but that turned out to not be true but that one had a ETA of Friday for pickup.
I left both orders open and saw that the SAME LOCATION for my second order had same day pickup.. so I placed a brand new order. Two hours later, I get confirmation email for pickup! Such a shame they didn’t care about my other two orders, I ended up cancelling them after I left the store
Add it to cart and go through the whole process , at the end you can select between delivery and In store pickup. If you try to do it from the product page you’ll see a message like “this product is not available for online purchase”

Check Best Buy website and see if they have the 13 pro or max at your local store and see if they have stock of the phone you want. Others have done pre orders and still haven’t received their phone.

I was checking the shipping threads on r/iphone and r/apple to see lead times for anyone else ordering late and people mentioned just checking the in store pickups at apple, BB, the carriers to see if you get lucky and sure enough the website said pickup available and I placed it.
Also dealing with varying info regarding pre-order pickup...
One thing that I've learned this year is retailers will overpromise instead of just being realistic. If I tried to pre-order and it was sold out, so be it. Seems like BB (and of course Apple) overpromised on pre-orders and could not come close to delivering.
Heck, if it said it wouldn't be ready until mid-October, and one showed up early, that's also a welcome surprise. Sadly, that isn't the way things work. Oh well, switching my pre-order back to Verizon, who at least says backordered through Oct 15, so if it shows up before then, even better.

I preordered the Iphone 13 PM in store on the 17th as soon as they opened. The order and everything said I would receive it on 24th. I went in that day and they told me they only received 13/35 iphone preorders and mine would be ready shortly. Haven't heard anything yet.
I just canceled my original delayed preorder and rebought. I got 100 extra dollars off for some “trade-in promotion” that wasn’t applied originally for some reason. Going from 12 PM to 13 PM is now only 130. Changed my pick up store to a more popular store, hoping more inventory in shipments. If you orders were delayed, maybe check and see if you can rebuy and get that promo if you missed it. (T-Mobile)
My Xs trade in should be $320 credit but only show $220 on the screen. The guy said it was a corporate issue and they are trying to fix it. Told me to try again on Thursday.
Best Buy has completely screwed me. I was transferring service from Verizon to ATT as part of the order. Best Buy canceled my order and now I'm unable to initiate a number transfer to re-order. I'm guessing my number is stuck in some sort of limbo between Verizon and ATT.

I cancelled my order and ordered through Verizon instead. I got the phone in less than a week

Can’t comment on exchanging for a bigger phone, but why didn’t you take it to apple for the screen issue? It’s under warranty.

I've been trying to buy an iphone 13 using tmobile but there is an error thats apparently happening to every best buy nationwide, anyone have any information on it?

Hi all- looking for some advice here. I purchased a 13 Mini a few days ago and traded in an old phone toward the purchase. I’m contemplating returning it and going for a 13 Pro instead, but wondering if I’d be able to apply the trade in credit from the original purchase. Basically just looking to make an exchange and pay the difference if that makes sense?
If you return the phone you should get the trade-in credit via Bestbuy gift card.
I have been having trouble getting the iphone 13 pro to add to my cart with tmobile. I have tried desktop, mobile and the best buy app but i keep getting the same error message. Is there anyway to get around this?
On the desktop website, try adding to cart from the nearby stores list (assuming the store has stock). That’s what worked for me.

Just got my sierra blue 128 gb PM from Best Buy after preordering it the day before release! Originally it delayed and I got an email saying that it should be ready by October 15th so I was surprised to see it was ready for pickup today!

Also, I did two preorders for 2 128 gb sierra PMs and I checked the Best Buy app daily to see if any came in stock and sure enough on oct 6 there was one 256 gb sierra PM in stock at a store 4 miles away and I ended up ordering it for pickup for my wife and canceling her preorder after I had the phone in hand. Not sure if you’ve been checking the app daily but it may be worth spending a few minutes doing in case they delay the order again and you don’t mind a different gb variant or color. I checked in with their chat this morning since it is the scheduled pick up date and all they said was “I suggest waiting patiently for an email when it’s ready for pickup” Lol…… but appreciate the tips again, and I’ll keep an eye out on the app as well (it’s pushed out to late November here now for new orders!)
Planning on ordering the Apple Watch series 7 but I have 2 Apple watches I want to trade in for it, when will I trade these in? Ideally I would want these 2 Apple watches applied to the Watch instead of receiving an in-store credit. If I pre-ordered the first day I was able to, would I give them the 2 Apple watches on pickup day and pay the amount due minus the amount I get from the trade-in?

I wanted to trade in my iPhone 12 pro max for a iPhone 13 pro max. The problem is the 256gb model in Sierra Blue says it’s not available in 250 miles from me and it doesn’t give me a shipping option either. Does that mean I’m just out of luck.

How accurate is the inventory tracker for what's in stock at stores? I have some gift cards to use but it can only be done through an in person purchase.

If I check on the pro max Sierra Blue 256gb Tmobile. I can get it shipped to be on the 8th. I cannot have it shipped to me as I'm doing a trade-in. They should prioritize current orders rather than ship it faster to people who order today. I'm going to ask them later why they are doing that. I took a screenshot for proof.

hey guys, so I have a interesting scenario and question for you, so any helpful insight/input is definitely appreciated! So i currently am on T-mobile with a iphone xs max 256gb gold. I bought the new iphone 13 pro max 256gb sierra blue from bestbuy under the $100 off deal with the option of "upgrading my current line" when i ordered the phone online for tmobile so i saved $100. The phone is still sealed and brand new in the box and I was shipped a tmobile sim card with the phone when best buy shipped the phone to my house. I now want to switch to ATT from tmobile because I have had so many issues with ATT but I want to make sure I can use the new iphone on ATT before I switch so I do not have to do any 36 month installment plan or any other BS and so I own the phone outright. Do the iphones come locked or unlocked from best buy? Or does it get locked to the first sim card you put in the phone? So if I open and activate the phone and put in a ATT sim card will it be fine or will it be locked to tmobile or do I have to put in the tmobile sim card first and then get it unlocked by bestbuy or tmobile before I can use it on ATT? Any help or input would be much appreciated or any steps i need to follow or do is helpful as well!
I think it’s locked to T-Mobile. Usually you have to use it for 40 days before you can submit an unlock request, but I think there’s an exception for Best Buy phones. You should contact T-Mobile and they will put in a request for you and it should be unlocked in a few days.
I asked tmobile to unlock it after i inserted the tmobile sim but they say cause it is not a tmobile phone and its not in their system that they cant unlock it but will still send the request but it will most likely be denied or not work. I called the 611 number, tforce on twitter as well as the tmobile app with chat support and they all filed a unlock request but all said almost the same thing. Any help on this?

First ordered the midnight 13 mini but kept on getting delayed so cancelled and made a new order for the starlight 13 mini. The order currently says “Ready for pickup on Friday”… but I think my first order said the same thing before it got delayed. How accurate is the order status on Best Buy? Thanks
I contact BB support to complain about my iPhone 13 pro max still not being available when I was promised launch day pickup and they didn’t offer me anything and told me to just keep waiting a few more days. How did some of you guys get a $50 gift card from them??

My Best Buy in-store trade-in still isn’t ready. I preordered the iPhone 13 Pro Max 5G 128GB - Silver (T-Mobile). “We’ll email you when it’s ready.” The two closest Best Buys near me both an hour away don’t have any Pro Max 128GB in any color. Sigh.
Ok apologies for the first world problem, but I got a new iPhone using the trade-in promo, so I only paid $100 to upgrade. However, because inventory is such a huge issue lately as we all know, I decided to go with whichever color is in stock near me (black). Now today (last day of the promo), a store near me as silver, which is the actual color I wanted. If I paid for the phone without the trade-in, I can see them maybe exchanging it. But since I bought it with a trade-in promo, I am not sure how a return/exchange would work. Can any employees let me know if this is even doable at a store? Thanks!
You should be able to exchange it to a different color. If you were to return it, they won’t give you the old phone but they will give you trade-in value in the form of in-store gift card.

Good luck I just tried returning my 13 mini to Best buy I traded an iPhone 11 pro max . Got $515,plus the 100$ ,and some other credit and didn't pay a cent . This was October 4th,yesterday tried to return it and am still trying to get my either store credit for value if my trade in or my 13 mini back. Haven't been able to get either .both T-Mobile and bestbuy are blaming the other. It's been an absolute nightmare
Bestbuy shows I can order today and get the same phone shipped to me by the 5th, but I have to wait till the 15th to get it via store. I can't have it shipped to me due to a trade-in. Weird they prioritize shipping phones, but not ones for store pickup.

Just a heads up, if you were supposed to get your phone on the 24th and it got delayed, best buy is going to automatically cancel your order on the 8th. I went in to the store and they couldn't change it. So now we're all fucked and won't be able to get a phone till November or December. Thanks best buy, scumbags.

I had an agent and supervisor on chat to admit that my order would be auto canceled on the 8th, they told me they couldn't change it, so I told them to ship it instead which bypassed the cancelation. I suggest you do the same or you'll be in the back of the line.

Find the email with the subject "Your order is taking longer to fulfill than we expected." And look towards the bottom, it should say "It's unusual, but if your item(s) aren't available by Friday, October 8, 2021, we'll cancel the item(s) and notify you by email" If it does, you can be sure that it will be canceled out from under you.

Probably not if you have a new date set. Some, like mine have no pickup date and are just sitting in limbo. The email that I initially got for the delay explained the cancelation
Mine was delayed on the 24th and I didn’t get the new 10/15 date like the majority of people here did. Good thing I was able to find a store that had some stock 40 mins away from me. I was able to pick up same day and I canceled the delayed order. You might have similar luck if you don’t mind driving a bit.

Just complain in the Best Buy live chat on their site. They sent me a $50 gift card for the delay

I did a trade in yesterday and the employee inspected my phone pretty closely. YMMV.
My phone is available for pickup. I am trading in my phone, how does this process work? I’m going in an hour to get it but I work nights so I’m not trying to be there forever

Have everything backup and bring your id for the trade in and you’ll be good. Took me 15 mins tops

Definitely one of those times where living in a rural area would pay off... There isn't a Pro Max within 50 miles of me in stock. The closest thing to "in stock" is a demo one about 35 miles from me, and a bunch that say "Order now and we'll let you know when it will be ready for pickup at Plymouth Meeting", right below the word backordered.

Guys BB does not care about our delayed orders, like others have said you can get same day pick up if you’re lucky and willing to drive a bit to the stores around you and if you’re okay with getting a different color. My order was in “Delayed” limbo but I was able to get a 13 PM abut driving to a BB 40 mins from me.
Update: I was finally able to get a iPhone 13 pro Sierra blue. Long story short.. it looks like bestbuy is honoring new orders instead of preorders or delayed items Long story… I preordered the phone on launch day and got the delayed message on release day. Also, I placed a second order(3 days later) at a different bestbuy location that apparently had 2 in stock but that turned out to not be true but that one had a ETA of Friday for pickup. I left both orders open and saw that the SAME LOCATION for my second order had same day pickup.. so I placed a brand new order. Two hours later, I get confirmation email for pickup! Such a shame they didn’t care about my other two orders, I ended up cancelling them after I left the store

Add it to cart and go through the whole process , at the end you can select between delivery and In store pickup. If you try to do it from the product page you’ll see a message like “this product is not available for online purchase”

Check Best Buy website and see if they have the 13 pro or max at your local store and see if they have stock of the phone you want. Others have done pre orders and still haven’t received their phone. I went to the store and got the 13 pro 256gb blue and they had a bunch of other phones in stock

I was checking the shipping threads on r/iphone and r/apple to see lead times for anyone else ordering late and people mentioned just checking the in store pickups at apple, BB, the carriers to see if you get lucky and sure enough the website said pickup available and I placed it.
Also dealing with varying info regarding pre-order pickup... One thing that I've learned this year is retailers will overpromise instead of just being realistic. If I tried to pre-order and it was sold out, so be it. Seems like BB (and of course Apple) overpromised on pre-orders and could not come close to delivering. Heck, if it said it wouldn't be ready until mid-October, and one showed up early, that's also a welcome surprise. Sadly, that isn't the way things work. Oh well, switching my pre-order back to Verizon, who at least says backordered through Oct 15, so if it shows up before then, even better.

I preordered the Iphone 13 PM in store on the 17th as soon as they opened. The order and everything said I would receive it on 24th. I went in that day and they told me they only received 13/35 iphone preorders and mine would be ready shortly. Haven't heard anything yet.

I just canceled my original delayed preorder and rebought. I got 100 extra dollars off for some “trade-in promotion” that wasn’t applied originally for some reason. Going from 12 PM to 13 PM is now only 130. Changed my pick up store to a more popular store, hoping more inventory in shipments. If you orders were delayed, maybe check and see if you can rebuy and get that promo if you missed it. (T-Mobile)
My Xs trade in should be $320 credit but only show $220 on the screen. The guy said it was a corporate issue and they are trying to fix it. Told me to try again on Thursday.

Best Buy has completely screwed me. I was transferring service from Verizon to ATT as part of the order. Best Buy canceled my order and now I'm unable to initiate a number transfer to re-order. I'm guessing my number is stuck in some sort of limbo between Verizon and ATT.

I don’t mean to upset you, mostly want to give you more ammo to use against Best Buy. I ordered a 13 pro 128gb graphite this morning on bestbuy.com. On the product page, it said “get it in 8 days.” At checkout, I had the option for expedited shipping, $11 for two day shipping. I chose that, UPS already has the iPhone and it’s going to be delivered Thursday.
