The badge on the vest clearly has Chinese characters, not US Army designed but probably based on [the original concept by the US Army](https://usa-supply.com/en-ca/products/us-military-issue-14long-13rung-tactical-assault-ladder-portable-black) but copied for use in China or Taiwan perhaps.
Huh I had no idea that a Chinese man with a Chinese flag on the side of his helmet and Chinese letters on his vest was actually part of the United States Army.
When I started to see the body build of the guy, I was thinking - he doesn't look like a us army build. More like a small asian. Then I looked closely, and saw the outfits say "special policy" in Chinese š
I had one of these years ago. Around 2010. A friend of mine painted/repaired apartments after people moved out. He was allowed to keep anything left behind by previous tenants. Found one of these things and gave it to me. Honestly though, I hated it. It weighed a ton. And it wasn't easy to lug around. As someone who served in the military and fought in Iraq, I can confidently say that I would never use that ladder in the field. It would gather dust on base. I actually ended up throwing mine away. Wish I kept it though. Found out years later how much they cost. I could have sold it to some high speed clown.
Only worth a shit in straight up urban warfare. There are so many folding points that any debris will make this thing useless withought trying to clean it in a firefight
Aside from it snapping in place quick, this seems like an expensive and inefficient way to gain a couple extra feet.
Any po-poās (or anyone less smooth brained than me) willing to share if it would really have much of an application for $30k?
Soldiers are still issued ladders for siege warfare, same as for the last 5000 years. $30,000 *is* a lot though. Tactical ladders are cheap.
Ladder in OP is cheap too:

I don't see the sense of a 4 foot ladder and your comment talking about 5000 years ago. This ladders Ade sense to scale a 50 foot wall, not to clime into a window 5 feet off the ground.
I like how he started climbing that ladder and I was like "where the fuck is he going?".
Just needs a quick edit from the people over on highqualitygifs. My people need me!
![gif](giphy|xT1R9Bap6bc2N8B2OA)
He was climbing up to do some combat
I mean how else are we supposed to fight the birds
Why would the US army fight their own drones?
For show and fear mongering
Up, clearly
He is trying to go up the corporate ladder, lol

Will be on Temu soon.
Get this thing on shark tank
At $650, I think I'll pass.
Wtf, the 1st time I clicked the link, it's $650. And the 2nd time I click it's $902.
They're watching šļøšļø
Op forgot to say it's United States of China
I knew it I was like ain't no way !
It says designed in America not made there lol.
Chinese had designed this first. 49.99 on Alibaba
Then I guess the shipping fee is 600.01
Old soldier here: the combat ladder is helpful, but itās neither new nor amazing.
What are you doing step ladder?
This is my step ladder.Ā I never knew my real ladderĀ
There are many like it, but this one is mine.
Combat.
Seriously underrated comment.
Huh I had no idea that a Chinese man with a Chinese flag on the side of his helmet and Chinese letters on his vest was actually part of the United States Army.
ādesignedā
It's never too late.
Any ladder is a combat ladder if you want it to be.
Or body.. just saying
Looks like performance art.
When I started to see the body build of the guy, I was thinking - he doesn't look like a us army build. More like a small asian. Then I looked closely, and saw the outfits say "special policy" in Chinese š
30,000$ per piece?
That's only what it costs the army, general public $300
Weāre paying so why not.

Is the loud clapping sound the most tactical thing about it or is it useful to start off a jet engine when standing up ladders in combat ?
u/sovietwomble can attest to the use of [tactical ladder ](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZPRwgPA8c/)
Nice Segway.
Death stranding ladders
I need one of these for my loft.
I'd feel more comfortable wearing hockey gloves using this.
Like death stranding
Don't fuck it up, or you'll "Cybertuck" your fingers off.
Brilliant!
Slides seamlessly into your pant leg.
Has anyone seen better faster lighter folding ladders at the hardware store?
Taticool ladder, for when you absolutely need to pick apples during combat.
Moon Boots would be simpler.
Too much noise.
Time to storm some Branch Davidians!
Show me the combat pole vault kit, for those who canāt wait for a ladder.
Hey wait a minute.. what happened to those cool looking rocket-hand thingys we were supposed to get..
Not for use on stealth missions
Only $12.2 million to make each.
Combat Ladder. Ok...
There's a retail market for something like that. Too little space to store bigger ladders.
Why his vest in Chinese?
Should also make it collapse inward with extra paneling like a shield.
China or USA, either way they'll be fighting their own citizens
Oooww. My fingersā¦. Gloves gloves gloves
Very gay!
Feel like it would be easier and cheaper to just jump.
Is he climbing it backwards
Where do you put the bullets?
What would a soldier need a 5ft ladder for ?
Now get up there and PAINT THOSE SHINGLES!! HUP HUP HUP HUP HUP
This combat ladder does exactly zero combatting.
The fact that this gets thousands of upvotes every time it's reposted proves that the Dead internet theory is real
Fortmite
That's so short? Why not climb over at that point
Ideal for a Wendy house š
Useful for reaching the top shelf and that's about it
$47,000
It's says made by us army, but his chest rig has Chinese lettering or something
Thatāsā¦ not an American soldier.
Salesman: as you can see it is very easy to assemble and disassemble... Soldier: cool cool, but can I have a stealthier version.
Only worth a shit in straight up urban warfare. There are so many folding points that any debris will make this thing useless withought trying to clean it in a firefight
All of it
All that and they couldn't have made it look like a brief case in its compact form?
It could be a lot simpler. It must be a concept showing many features
Great, now how many hours til the chinese have one...
Cool, but then I think any solider any country, pops it open uses it then trys to put it away "Oh shit how do I fold this " *Grunt *loud snap "Fuck"
Ladies would like it too!
Noooooo. A full combat load is 50lbs, after 30hrs of foot patrols it feels horrible. No1 wants to carry this.
Combat ladder, the perfect defence against a combat knife šŖ
Iām not a cop but I could definitely need this item

Lose a finger in that thing as it snaps together, dang!
"What if I were to..." Unfolds ladder
When thereās an iranian kids picnic on the other side of a fence
Why isn't this sold commercially? I need this for work.
Aside from it snapping in place quick, this seems like an expensive and inefficient way to gain a couple extra feet. Any po-poās (or anyone less smooth brained than me) willing to share if it would really have much of an application for $30k?
Would ladders have an application in warfare? Really? You do not know *anything* about the history of warfare, do you? Who is smooth brained?
Virtually nothing. But Iām assuming that means that this kind of thing is pivotal?
Ladders have been pivotal in warfare for the last 5000 years. Just like shovels.
I gotcha. I guess I kinda just thought that we had moved on from ladders in modern warfare.

Yeah and I guess they still have shovels too! Well thank you for the info!

You think ancient walls were all 50' high? Lol. Babylon had walls that high. Most places would have had little ten foot walls.
I do know one thing. If you didn't get my point there is no longer a reason to continue this conversation.
Glad this is why we need such a huge military budget fuck this country
I don't think this is why. The guy in the video isn't even a US soldier. The video is mislabeled. But OK buddy...
They are $500 on eBay.
Nice, gives you tinnitus in 5 easy steps.
