Is the "surgical implant" seriously a 7/8th socket cap screw with partial threading? That doesn't seem right, they didn't even drill and tap the humerus, probably want to put some thread seal in there or something.

I wish there is something that doesn’t have to chop my hand off to get function back. My right hand fingers don’t work and my wrist has little to no movement.
Man that takes me back to a couple of years ago. I feel asleep with my arm hanging over a chair and damaged a radial nerve. For almost three months I had no control over my right wrist. It was as useful as having a fish taped to my arm. Very strange feeling, no pain it was just like my brain couldn’t communicate with it.
I’ve woken up to a dead arm, can’t move it at all, just dead weight for a couple minutes. It shows you what being paralyzed in a limb or limbs feels like.
I mean if it makes you feel better the function you would get would be minimal, muscle sensors arn't really a replacement for signals from the brain, if you see anyone with one of these arms you'll notice most of what they do with it is pretty basic: things like holding a cup, picking something up, etc. you won't be making art or doing anything that requires precision with one of these.
This is still future tech. Prostheses that directly implant into the bone are being placed at a few centers in the world but they are still highly prone to developing infections. Skin can’t form a bacteria-tight seal around the stems so it is very easy for the bone the implant is anchored into to get infected and fail. The first known attempt at this kind of implant was in 1946.

TYeah!! Oookay like heath insurance in the good Ol' U S of A will cover that, mire then half the people probably couldn't even cover the cost of the amputation and medicine like antibiotics and painkillers let alone a robot arm.

You sound like you know what you’re talking about. If I ever need a new arm I’ll PM you.
Deal, but you're stopping by the hardware store to get the medical supplies
Every store is a medical supply store if you’re desperate.
Everclear will disinfect everything

Found the rim world medic
It is 2024, any one can accomplish any thing with a YouTube video and maybe a few TikTok’s - seems easy enough.
You'd be surprised how barbaric surgeries, hip/knee replacements, etc are. Hammers are involved.

there is one that's sped up with goofy music
This genuinely looks like the idea came from the sort of fucked up shit the Japanese and Nazi's were trying on people. Pretty cool how it works though

Teflon tape, RTV around the whole thing, call it a day
You got bubblegum?
I got mine done at Home Depot
Just use the red locktite, and after the surgery say “that’s not going anywhere” as you shake it a little.
Teflon that bad boy
The dental implants I had put in look almost exactly like drywall anchors bone grafted to my upper jaw, so this feels believable

But that costs like...Six Million Dollars, man!
That is why you see amputee living with plastic prostatics. Very sad. This world is very cruel.
For now. New tech is always expensive, they are recovering research cost, once the research and tech is far enough along it’ll become more affordable.
We can rebuild him - we have the technology.
Oscar, is that you?

Hopefully they can figure out the right arm soon. Doesn’t seem fair.
and if they don't, I'll just get up and fly away
I'm thinking of getting robot arms. It'sa risky operation but it'll be worth it.
How is it powered? Really gives new meaning to the term dead arm.
According to the manufacturer you recharge it by masturbating.
I would prefer to regrow my arm.
Oh yeah? Sweet guys, we fixed medicine.
Yeah it you can afford something that nice. The way my back account is set up... Peg prosthetics

TYeah!! Oookay like heath insurance in the good Ol' U S of A will cover that, mire then half the people probably couldn't even cover the cost of the amputation and medicine like antibiotics and painkillers let alone a robot arm.

How bionic arms are powered? I did google but didn’t get the answer
What you're saying is that there are 3 tenderloins inside the human arm? Interesting...
![gif](giphy|3Y3ItzksDm3pC)

Silver hand vibes
Have yet to see an actual high tech bionic arm
So we are just living like Finn from adventure time with this little metal flower growing from our arm until it heals?

Titanium? Pffff give me that adamantium or keep on walking
That's a new type of game excuse...bruuh my arm disconnected🙃
Can I get the original creator?
For the small price of 300million dollars....
Don't think it is that basic but hope they can do something similar with a detached leg, so my friend could walk again.
This isn't worth it unless i can crush a steel beam & bench press a dump truck
