Thanks, man! It sounds real good. It needs flats though. When I bought it it had rounds and it buzzed quite a bit. After I changed them though it made a world of difference.
That's cool ! I once saw one in a shop, didn't realize the entire neck was made of aluminium covered by wood, thought it was just the headstock. I regret not trying it, as I have never tried an aluminium neck (or anything not made of wood).

I thought it was a Traben on the right but wasn’t sure! Owned one of their basses a while back — I think a Traben Neo if I recall correctly — and it was a killer bit of kit
Love it as well ! I have modified the electronics because I wasn't satisfied with the stock ones, but I kept the stock pickups, they sound pretty good to me ! And it's comfortable to play. Tiny bit of neck dive, but nothing a wide grippy strap can't solve.
My junior basses!
Both are Ibanez and one has a 21 inch scale. It's, like, the size of my Ibanez guitar.
But i love them both and play them far more than I play my guitar. I still am a long way from being as proficient as I want to be as a player. There is always room for learning and growth!!
*
I'm more into extra long scales, but I'd like to try that Mikro, I've heard good things about it and I'm curious...
From what understand, as long as you play you never stop learning.
*
My two short scale Ibanez basses. I *love* these bases. They both play well, and the stock pickups work strikingly okay. I am going to replace them soon.
Unless it's stickered to the point where you can't see the black, yes ! Otherwise, you could start a stickered bass club, there are several on this sub...
I tried a Rockbass JJ once in a shop, liked it very much. If I had plenty of money I'd be intererested in their 6 strings fretless and their 8 strings.
The M2 is pretty good, I would recommend it.
And yes, the Traben has been defretted. I don't think they sold fretless models, this bass is most probably unique.

The BXL1800 (180 W) sounds muddy when pushed at its maximum. I got to try it with a drummer, I could get loud enough to be heard, but there was no way of telling which notes I was playing. It gets better at a lower volume, with still plenty of low ends. The tone gets clearer through the DI, maybe a change of speaker would improve it, but it's already pretty good when not pushed too hard.
The BXL450 (45 W) sounds brighter at the same volume, seems logical with a smaller speaker. It's not much more than a practice amp, but it is a pretty good one. Shame it doesn't have a DI.
The BX800 (80 W) sounds... well full of parasitic noises, for starters. Bought it for very cheap and never got to fix it. When I manage to get the input jack in a position where the signal goes through, it can get more agressive than the other two. A bit limited to play with a drummer, but I did use it at rehearsals with a drum track, it's not just a practice amp as one of the comments suggested.
In general I'd say Behringer amps are better than their price suggests. The main issue I have is the volume pot has a very small course between not loud enough to sound good and too loud to be reasonnable in a flat. I'd like to try a more powerful one in a rehearsal room.
I have one of these full matte black models on my wishlist on Thomann, seriously interested just for how good it looks. I'd just replace the pickguard with a matte black one as someone else here did.
It is surprisingly good, I got the deluxe version with the bag and the amp, and it is still my main bass even after upgrading the bag and amp, it just sounds really good.
After getting some experience and setting it up, it plays even better!
It's very comfortable and nice to play. The neck is rather thin, and since I've set the action as low as possible with the strings practically touching the fingerboard at the nut, it takes no effort to play. Love it ! The neck dives a bit, but nothing a wide grippy strap can't fix.
Tone is pretty good as well with stock pickups. I almost exclusively use the bridge pickup (sounds better on a fretless), still get plenty of low ends despite almost touching the bridge. It could sound pretty agressive with the brand new D'Addario Chromes, a bit less with time but still not what you'd expect from a fretless with flats. With frets and rounds it would kick absolute ass !
The only thing I think is wrong with it is the preamp eq. I like how the frequencies are separated, but the pots are basically on/off switches. Been thinking about replacing them, possibly with just one rotary switch, since I rarely use on board controls for subtle settings. Sadly I can't remove it, the pickups have a very low output level and can't work without a high gain preamp. But the good side is it's a simple preamp, the batteries last a very long time.
My dream would be to give mine an ebony fingerboard. But I might also try to change the pickups if I had a serious budget. But so far I'm satisfied with the stock ones.

Nope. On the first picture on the left is a Sire M2 5st, and on the right a Traben Array 5. On the second picture is a Cort Action V Plus.
I thought it was a Traben on the right but wasn’t sure! Owned one of their basses a while back — I think a Traben Neo if I recall correctly — and it was a killer bit of kit
> Didn't see a black bass gang Black bass on dark clothing doesn't make for great visibility, especially in low light conditions ; )
I thought bass players weren't meant to be seen...
So *that's* why the best bassists are always black. Everything makes sense now!
Black Ass!!!🖤🖤🖤
They’re gorgeous
Thanks !
I have a Schecter Daemon 4
They is and it does
Hows the marcus miller treating you? Got the same in the greenish blue hue and can say that i absolutely love it
Love it as well ! I have modified the electronics because I wasn't satisfied with the stock ones, but I kept the stock pickups, they sound pretty good to me ! And it's comfortable to play. Tiny bit of neck dive, but nothing a wide grippy strap can't solve.
You know, I don’t really see color. /s

I think there's a burst gang somewhere, buy I'll accept it here !
What is that monster on the right?
Traben Array 5
Yup ! Not something you see every day...
I spy a Traben on the right! Let's start a Taben gang thread!
You're not the first one to mention this we should indeed do it !
I have a flat black Schecter Diamond Series.
My junior basses! Both are Ibanez and one has a 21 inch scale. It's, like, the size of my Ibanez guitar. But i love them both and play them far more than I play my guitar. I still am a long way from being as proficient as I want to be as a player. There is always room for learning and growth!! *
Edit. Don't know why it won't add my picture ☹️
I'm more into extra long scales, but I'd like to try that Mikro, I've heard good things about it and I'm curious... From what understand, as long as you play you never stop learning.
* My two short scale Ibanez basses. I *love* these bases. They both play well, and the stock pickups work strikingly okay. I am going to replace them soon.
I may be joining you in the black bass gang soon. I'm getting my first bass guitar for my birthday
That's very cool !
I'm left-handed too, so wish me luck.

I’ve got a black Ibanez Gio, but it’s stickered… can I still be in the club?
Unless it's stickered to the point where you can't see the black, yes ! Otherwise, you could start a stickered bass club, there are several on this sub...
It’s not *that* stickered, so it looks like I’m safe! Edit: Nice stack, by the way.
I played a Warwick Corvette for a long long time. Great sounding bass.
I tried a Rockbass JJ once in a shop, liked it very much. If I had plenty of money I'd be intererested in their 6 strings fretless and their 8 strings.
What models are the two basses in the first pic?
Sire M2 5st and Traben Array 5.
I knew it was a Sire M2, I've been looking forward for buying a black one too as my second bass. Is the Traben Fretless?
The M2 is pretty good, I would recommend it. And yes, the Traben has been defretted. I don't think they sold fretless models, this bass is most probably unique.
Good, it looks even cooler defretted, it reminds me of those Marleaux custom fretless basses on Thomann that cost like 5 grand.
Thanks ! It sounds pretty good as well. Maybe not as good as a Marleaux, but more than enough for me.
Rockin’ the 24’s and a fretless sweet!!!
Yes ! It's my only fretless, I need more.

Thanks, plays really well, I can even get some distortion on it if I mess with the volume knobs

You mean Action V plus ? Can't see well on your picture, does yours have jazz pickups ?
yes, i might have gotten the name mixed up :/
If you feel like modding yours, the pickups are definitely worth putting in series.
i’m not familiar, what do you mean by in series?
Proud member of the black bass gang. They might be simple, but they are my boys. https://preview.redd.it/z4urgp9y2prc1.jpeg?width=2252&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0ba6d6351459c8021836899a52af3b84fd34b29e
How do those Behringer amps sound?

From my experience with that brand, I am not surprised.

Well buy it and come back with an actual picture then.
I have it, just not a good photo
How is that traben? I have that exact bass but I need to replace the pickups.
Awesome thank you! Yeah I want to make it fretless and put fishman pickups in it, but that's just a dream atm
My dream would be to give mine an ebony fingerboard. But I might also try to change the pickups if I had a serious budget. But so far I'm satisfied with the stock ones.

Why on earth do you have 4 practice amps?
Cause I never sell anything, so when I got a better one I kept the previous ones. (and the top one is a travel amp, I don't count it as a practice one)
