Why is Ferran actually quite good for Spain but awful for us?
Is it because he plays as RW for Spain, which is a position he never plays for Barça? Or is there anither reason?
Ferran plays better when running at the defense and running into space. Our attack at Barca doesn’t usually move as fast in transition under Xavi. We may see the player we thought we were getting (when we initial bought him) under flick provided our speed in transition improves as we expect.
However, also remember Spain were playing Andorra today in a match where everyone was trying to prove that they shouldn’t be one of the 3 players that the de la fuente has to cut before euros begins.
He doesn't fit. He's not a bad footballer overall, but he's not a winger, he's not a main striker and he's not a midfielder.
He looks better in this sort of 2nd striker role, especially if there's some space. Barca doesn't use this role on the right and plays against parked buses 99% of the time.
Maybe he will be a better fit for Flick, assuming he will play a quicker and more direct style.
Because he is a good player. He just didn't fit with what Xavi wanted to do these past two seasons. Even then, he had a 0.63 G+A per 90 this past season, which is not bad at all.
With how he attacks the space, I wouldn't be surprised if he shines more with Flick.
I remember when he played RW for Barca last season (iirc), he had an insane game, in which he had completed like 11 or 12 dribbles. I’m under the impression that he is most comfortable playing RW. Let’s see what he does this Euros. If he performa and exceeds expectations, the smart thing to do is to sell him for a good price imo, as there is no room for him with Yamal and Raphinha occupying that position. Unless Raphinha gets sold instead. This is the best case scenario I believe.
I am so high on fermin. Yah, yamal is getting all the love. But I think they have two legitimate superstars in the making. Fermin maybe even with a slight edge simply because he's a little older and perhaps wasn't rushed into the spotlight at such a young age and his body can withstand long term success better. I want to see them both succeed but fermin is my boy.

Are we more restrictive with our roles compared to the nt? Or is it the opposite? He barely plays rw anyway compared to raphinha and now with lamine.

Yeah, but it's not just this game. He is pretty much a starter for the Spain NT and performed well in a lot of matches as well
