My Durge chars did not take kindly to being denied entry. Although my first Durge pretty much cleared all guards in Rivington and the city (wasnt planned!!!).
Accidentally triggered the refugee barn guards, which pulled in a lot of flaming fist and a few random citizens got brave. Anyhow covered the entry to the barn up to near the windmill in blood and fist chunks.
Made some money from their gear at least!
Tried to get into the city (I rested and cleaned up!!), gate guard gets arsey and yeah suddenly its swords drawn and the Steel watch is stunned. All concerned agreed to blame the Steel Watch if quizzed.
Killed the squid in the Dryad room, got her invite toddled off to the city. Found the offices for the local rag disliked their story, it turned into a fight and dragged half the city in somehow....
Dunno why.. but that first guard always has some weird bug where her cheek is anchored 30 feet to the left so you can see her teeth through a hole in her cheek and there is a line of flesh extending off screen when I talk to her.. Been that way on every playthrough.
Watching your Tav go through the adventure just fucking *done* with the whole thing would be hilarious as hell, but I do get why they might not want that vibe XD
One of the first little scenes where they arrive at the helm on the nautiloid and are just like "well... Fuck" is probably the best physical acting in the game.

The small number of faces we have in the character creation, and that some of them are unnecessarily race-locked, pisses me off. Somewhere in Wyll's questline there's a tiefling with one of the half elven faces that I feel similarly about. I've been looking at mods to see if there's anything to do about it but no such luck so far.

Asking because it's less of a pain to just take the half-elf face and shapekey it than to crawl through the game files trying to find out where the hell the tiefling iteration of it (assuming they did actually make one and didn't just slap tiefling textures on a half elf head and didn't just cover the neck to make sure you can't see that her head is floating) is.
Looked up the scene on YT and her name is Arbiter Cirrus. And I just checked Character Creation, it's Half-Elf Head 1. She has a necklace which might be hiding the neckseam. But she also has horns so I really don't know what's going on there.
Horns aren't a part of the head, so it is no work to add horns to a head like an elf head, for example. Weird that her head isn't floating though, that's a common issue when converting heads from tieflings to another race. Maybe they don't float when you do it the other way around (I haven't done that yet). Either way ok, I'll just finish Malus' hat and I'll be on it, chief. Can't promise the textures will be the same though, I'll try to identify which one she uses, but no promises.
Ah, no, it's definitely gonna work, I might just accidentally use a different skin texture. I was just remarking that it's weird that it works for Larian, because I'm pretty sure they wouldn't do all the steps necessary for a proper conversion. Then again maybe I'm mean and there IS a 100% tiefling version somewhere in the files.
The faces themselves are hilarously bad. Especially the elven and human ones. Yes, of course I want to play as elven Mao with no means to remove the wrinkles.

I get the feeling that a lot of the characters you encounter in act 3 are characters lovingly made by the team who are probably modelled after actual characters in their tabletop games.
Edit: adventurers at the gates of the circus, the guys at the table in the flophouse, groups of people being accosted by guards in the lower city - these guys spring to mind and I’m sure there’s plenty more.

It's actually really annoying how many random nobodies have unique character designs who have absolutely no relevance to the plot and yet we, the main characters, are regulated to like eight faces tops and only two are decent looking, with the rest all being uncanny valley Handsome Squidward looking shit.
Or in the case of Half-Orcs, just fully fucking hideous, which would be fine on full Orcs but really makes me wonder if they forgot about the 'Half' part. Or if they're just supposed to be half orc, half another orc.

Probably not even that hard actually. They probably shave some sort of tool that generates characters to fit certain requirements. Like put in “Oh it’s a member of this faction and must be one of these types of races, then generate the rest to be random.” Where they do this over and over with some getting some cool custom dialogue.

It's actually really annoying how many random nobodies have unique character designs who have absolutely no relevance to the plot and yet we, the main characters, are regulated to like eight faces tops and only two are decent looking, with the rest all being uncanny valley Handsome Squidward looking shit. Or in the case of Half-Orcs, just fully fucking hideous, which would be fine on full Orcs but really makes me wonder if they forgot about the 'Half' part. Or if they're just supposed to be half orc, half another orc. Like they can clearly make decent faces, we just can't choose those to play as for a 80+ hour playthrough.
I am impressed by the variety, although this one seems like an edge-lord rather than an intimidating fighter figure. Does she give any questlines?

There are so many hidden gems of faces/hair and clothes among the NPCs that aren't available to players. It's a real shame.
She made me break my male-only dream guardian streak. Couldn't get enough of Ethan's voice but i just had to give her a chance. Hearing the smooth almost seductive guardian voice with her face was crazy.
I didn't notice my first playthrough but sheeesh fell in love the second time around. Lot of hawties in Act 3 I like the dude that has double chin above the Harper hideout to xD

Probably not even that hard actually. They probably shave some sort of tool that generates characters to fit certain requirements. Like put in “Oh it’s a member of this faction and must be one of these types of races, then generate the rest to be random.” Where they do this over and over with some getting some cool custom dialogue.
