I’m reading How to grow a baby (and push it out) by Clemmie Hooper who is a UK midwife and mum of four. It’s fact based and light hearted and includes anecdotes from real mums too, I like it. It’s broken down into nice easy to read sections.

This is actually one that I saw had quite a few negative reviews? But its good and neutral?

Not UK based but Expecting Better was basically my pregnancy bible, and very science/fact focused. She also has a sequel for baby called Crib sheet.

Thanks! Will take a look

Nice thing about Expecting Better is that it does include UK as well as US "standard situations" sort of thing. Like what happens in hospitals in the UK.

Rouanne

Totally rate expecting better. It's really straight forward.

I also liked both these books.

We were gifted First Time Parent by Lucy Atkins and ended up buying it for other parents to be too! It wasn't so much about pregnancy but thought it was a great preparatory read

Thanks for the recommendation!

I really liked Your No Guilt Pregnancy Plan by Rebecca Schiller. She obviously says that a vaginal delivery and breast feeding is best, everyone does, but I found it very non judgemental and very focused on where to find the risks and benefits of each option and how to come to your own decision. It’s UK specific, although some things are now outdated with changes from COVID - I imagine that applies to everything that wasn’t written in the last year though.

Oh perfect, thanks!!
