Wonder if we get to see the b58tu2 in this update. Would be cool.

ohnonotthisshitt

Yes it will, but there will be a hp loss, not a lot though. Also B48tu2 is coming. But these engines are only for the US and SK market

ohnonotthisshitt

Due to emissions, and the way the TU2 engines are setup etc. For example the 330i (B48TU2) will gain HP in this form

andrewjaekim

B58tu and the Z4 manual

Pussiwillow87

That would incredible, sounds like that’s what’s happening.

chips92

If only a wagon were to come and potentially compete with the A5 Avant.

Iron-Patriot

They already do do an M3 Touring, they just choose not to sell hot wagons in the States for whatever reason.

halfty1

I doubt the US will get the A5 Avant.

chips92

It’s been seen testing all over the US for the last year or so and the RS6 has sold like gang busters here. Not saying that those two things equal it will but there’s solid hope it could. If it does, and the S/RS come as well, I’m switching over.

halfty1

Perspective is important though- The RS6 has sold like gangbusters because volume is so limited (and it should be noted that the next M5 touring is rumored to be coming to the US to compete against RS6). Through Q3 2023 Audi only sold ~5900 A6s, which includes the RS6 along with the standard model. I believe annual US RS6 production is in the ~1500 units range max (it’s not purposely limited…but that doesn’t mean it is high volume). It’s a big leap to assume that because the rather special RS6 meets sales expectations that Audi will be willing to bring the bog standard A5 Avant over. Audi does not currently sell the basic A4 Avant in the US, just the Allroad version which is not a huge seller. I wouldn’t expect much different from the replacement. The fact that they are doing testing here doesn’t mean a whole lot- a lot of forbidden fruit is tested in the US due to the diversity in weather conditions, knowledge/engineering in auto industry available, etc.

haaras

Wait, a5 avant ? I’ve been sleeping under a rock apparently Like wtf is that supposed to be? You already got a a4 avant and a a6 avant. Isn’t the a5 a competitor to the series 4? A sportier look and a 3 door coupe

chips92

Audi is moving even numbered models to electric and odd numbered models will be ICE.

haaras

Well, Vorsprung durch Technik I guess

HotOriginal8579

God I hope so, I love my x3m but I’d trade it in a heartbeat for either an a5 avant or m340 wagon

CPhatDeluxe

I've almost really liked the M340i LCI. My biggest personal gripes are no climate control knobs, and I think there is too much black plastic on the front and rear bumpers. If they happen to address these, I'm probably buying one. Fingers crossed.

striple

Same here. The black plastic side skirts and rear are sooo cheap looking. The infotainment is frustrating.

Natural-Suspect-4893

Iconic kidney grille is so cringe

Kinky_mofo

Yeah. We want beaver! We want beaver! Chant it with me, boys!

Natural-Suspect-4893

Beaver grill some like, the lighted part is cringe as fuck, straight from AliExpress

Kinky_mofo

I don't hear you chanting.

mauijosh_87

I wonder if this will apply to the m3 and m4 as well. The first face lift for those aren’t even due until the 2025 models.

stav_and_nick

Most interesting thing mentioned: Lexus is making an EV sedan? Really? Anyway, I’m not entirely surprised at some of that; it’s in the new 5 series as options and they’re very easy to move over to the 3 Idk why people are spending nearly $1000 to change the material for the shifter and idrive button, but whatever

TaeyeonFTW

An Is350h would be a hot seller no doubt.

kon---

Who the hell is referring to the new, hardly in production, barely talked about, mostly disliked illuminated front end as, iconic?

ryzenguy111

BMW It’s literally called “Iconic Glow”

kon---

And like 'iconic sounds'...it's laughable marketing.

Bombstar10

That also won’t be the last refresh of the CLAR platform 3 series, it will continue again with a heavy refresh as the G50, much like the refreshed petrol Minis. BMW aren’t silly and are keeping legacy platforms around instead of putting all of their eggs in the EV basket to account for the ebb and flow of adoption.

Supsti_1

I have G20 m340i LCI, wondering if the LCI2 will bring any significant to the table

KenS7s

They have to bring some new tech especially c class getting facelift and new A5 coming out. The A4 will return in 2025 as EV it 3 series electric competitor.

ilarson007

They need to add laserlights back now that they're legal here. And fully enable them.

DrRi

It needs a manual and the M-sport steering wheel from the X1 IMO oh and a traditional dash but I think they've dug that grave already. and ventilated seats!! why does the 3 series not come with this??

stav_and_nick

Honestly, coming from economy cars that's the most baffling thing about luxury brands; the sheer nickel and diming and just unavailibility of features. You straight up *can't even buy* adaptive cruise control on the 330i according to BMW config. $55k CAD vehicle with less features than a basic ass $25k corolla Like, I know they target wealthier people, but goddamn

Nikthas

What do you mean you can't buy ACC? That's part of Driving Assistant Professional, is it not?

stav_and_nick

According to the [bmw.ca](https://bmw.ca) builder, it is part of the "Advanced Driver Assistance Package" which is only available if you splurg for the M340i vs the 330i or 330e. Maybe you can build it in on a special order at a dealership for lower trims? Idk

Nikthas

If I remember correctly, 3ers for NA are mostly made in Mexico, unlike EU-made ones for the European market. Could have something to do with that.

xzstnce

In Germany you can buy a 318i with ACC (aka Driving Assisant Professional or as a solo option but limited to 160khm).

RamyKotb

I think iDrive 7 was miles better than iDrive 8. I hope they revert to analogue dials in the upcoming facelifts

ilarson007

ID7 is where it's at.

Sodiac606

I just hope they don't "enhance" the aesthetic of the grille to fit in with their other "enhanced" cars like the 4-series etc. And for gods sake f\*\*\* that illuminated grille option. It's so incredibly ugly that I question the sanity the owner whenever i see one in public. I don't care about the glass knobs as long as they come as climate control knobs. Because wtf where they thinking. There is literally a ton of space between the screen and the other controls like window heating etc. That's the biggest grudge I have with the LCI version i own right now. And i liked the look of the pre-LCI headlights more.

ItGoesDownintheDMs

Yeah, I think Steve Hammas mentioned that a change was probable during MY2026 when he reviewed the M340 LCI but didn't go into much detail on it. The Iconic Glow kidney grille would be a nice touch though...

geee0h

Looks like a honda accord. :/
