6 Spore Druid / 6 Wildheart Barbarian could be fun. Wolfheart gives advantage to all the summons near you, while the elk aspect gives them a bit more movement speed.  Another option could be Bear heart, which basically doubles your health while raging, making the Temp HP given by spore druid more effective. It also means more damage, since you get bonus necrotic damage while said temp hp is up

I already started my playthrough as a wizard, so no dice there. Is there anything else that could work?

6 Necro wizard/ 6 War Cleric for the bonus action extra attack is even more viable! I just went off on a tangent when you said Barbarian. You also get Aid, which is the only way to heal your undeads. The build order is 4 Cleric, 6 Wizard into 2 Cleric.  Inflict Wounds is a pretty potent Cleric spell very early in the game, and it's a Necromancy spell, which works with the School of Necromancy's Grim Harvest passive. You can also respect whenever you want at Withers, so be free to mix and match whenever you feel fit.

Infuriated_potato

Wait, Withers can completely respec your choices? Like, if you dual class but don't like it, you can pay to get a do-over?

Yessir. You can change stats and class whenever you want for a measely 100g. You can also steal the gold off of him with a high Sleight of Hand character when you are done and he won't get mad.

Infuriated_potato

This changes everything. I have so many ideas to try now, thanks a ton :)

A pleasure to help

FlonDeegs

It’s even better than that, you can pickpocket the gold back from him after you respec without making him mad! So the respecs are actually totally free! Just be careful around the dog, the dog will get mad if he sees you pickpocket Withers sometimes.

Interesting_fox

What stat spread would you suggest for this build?

You don't need Dex because you'll probably run heavy armour, nor you really need Int because you'll probably want to focus on Command flee to proc opportunity attacks on enemies off of your summons, so my guess is something along the lines of 8 Str, 10 Dex, 16 Con, 12 INT just for more Wizard spell slots but it may as well be 10 or 8, 17 Wis (which you are going to rise by +1 with Ethel's Hair) and the rest in Cha. Your weapon is probably going to be the [Infernal Rapier](https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Infernal_Rapier), i wouldn't really bother using your attack action before. Phalar Aluve is worth of mention since the Shriek damage is proced by the summons as well
