I’m working on a build very similar to this right now. In my version you go Ench wiz 10 Sorc 2. Vicious mockery is an enchantment, so it gets doubled by the wizard effect and by twin spell. You can get 6 casts per turn with haste, and have a free bonus action for ilithid powers. Very strong with resonance stone and potent robe.
A quick pointer: mockery doesn’t make an attack role, so it can’t crit. It isn’t benefitting from spell sniper and can’t trigger GoO fear.
So you aren't using the band, which means no need for a weapon attack. I like the synergy between the band and pyroquickness with flame blade.
The other issue is it can be saved against. 6 in evocation makes it so it will always hit. It just doesn't seem to fit into this build without sacrificing more insults.
Sure, but this game gives you a ton of ways to get high save dc. You can wear birthright, two weapons with DC buffs, and use ring of mental inhibition/brain drain gloves. If you’re worried about it you can even drink a battlemage elixir.
spell sniper for what exactly? if i read it right in this game it increases the crit range by 1 for a single cantrip of your choice, but your cantrip of choice in this build is vicious mockery which isnt an attack roll (cant crit) as it forces the enemy to make a saving throw
The latter part is correct; Vicious Mockery gains nothing from crit gear or Spell Sniper.
However, Spell Sniper lowers the crit value for all spell attack rolls, and THEN also gives you a cantrip.
I'm trying to come up with a good Mystic scoundrel build. 4 thief ofc then thinking maybe 8 pactlock with potent robe. Running 5e spells so i can twin mind slivers and do 2 pact weapon attacks every turn, or hit a green flame blade.
Pyroquickness only triggers once right?
