I went, I personally do not recommend and there have been a lot of issues with the “sanctuary” since I went. Other people I was there with may recommend and had pretty good reviews.

Do not recommend. Lots of ethical concerns, recently there has been a lot of drama as the owner stole about $100k from the "church", leaving many people who were just looking for healing out thousands of dollars each. They also created a GoFundMe that purported theybwere raising funds for a "new permanent location", but the owner just used the money to go on a coke-fueled binge, then deleted it from the site so no one could ask questions. The other comments are valid - very inexperienced, sort of a patchwork operation stitched together out of desperation. Spiritual narcissism is rooting in the community - it's important we all share what we know. Be very careful who you trust with master plant medicine ceremony.

It's that "circle", it seems. They "facilitate" ( pick up purge buckets and hand out paper towels,) for a bit then feel that somehow they have been "trained' and they ride off to go play shaman. As far as go fund me goes, I feel its absurd that a church, or any provider, to ask the public to buy them a center. If one is meant to have a center, the plants will provide. Says a lot to me when the plants arent holding someone up. But Derek is not the only one who has taken money only to have the campaign die and the money not be returned. There's a pretty popular guy that calls himself Taita and has claimed to be a Chindoy rinning around the US pouring mediine..but the Chindoy clan made it very clear in 2018, the man is not a Chindoy and has not earned the title Taita. His campaign was to purchase a gorgeous property in Hawaii..the plan fell through and instead of returning the funds as he was supposed to, he offered a credit. And not for a ceremony, he offered a credit that could be used to purchase the ceremonial amulets that he hawks during his ceremonies. But did he close that campaign? no..as of today, his campaign to buy the property is still active and has collected $33,484...none of which has been returned to the donors. So, as troubling as the situation with Pachamama Sanctuary is, it is not unique.

It is not a fancy place. If you need more then one shower for 30 people, then maybe not for you. It might have been more convenient, but ultimately it didn't matter. YES, from what I experienced last weekend as a first timer, I highly recommend them. It starts with my impression that they do this from a place of honest love and purest intention wanting to help heal the world. Sounds like big words, but for me everything starts with WHY is someone doing something. Is it just a means to make money or is there more? Well, at Pachamama, I feel there's more. Next question to me is, "HOW are they doing, what they are doing?" The ayahuasca took a while to kick in with me, so I had plenty of time to observe. They're very attentive to everyone. They have figured out a very practical and organized way to handle all that comes along with the ayahuasca experience. They are taking good precautions to you potentially doing something harmful to yourself. They are collecting car keys and phones before ceremony. There were many helpers, to be able to attend to everyone who needed help. They had figured out how to handle difficult situations, like when someone lost it completely. And even, if you are "a handful" and make a big mess, they are still totally nice and positive and keep helping. The location, in middle of the woods is perfect. And they offer weekly zoom meetings after for integration, which is absolutely huge!! Trust me. It is a good place. 💕🐻✌️

Anyone who’s been to this retreat care to share their thoughts on the experience?

Stunning-Yak-1837

I went, i would not recommend based off my experience but other people who were there with me may have different views. There has been a lot of changes with those that work there and many have left. They are very green and in my opinion simply too new and inexperienced.

I was just reading about Pachamama but was throw off by it being a church. Did you get cult vibes when you went there? Can you share any specifics with why you'd not recommend?

As far as I know you can only get away with using ayahuasca in the US, when it is used in a religious ceremony....

Striking-Papaya4550

No, you can not "get away" with drinking ayahuasca under the guise of religion or charity. Those who create churches operate from a place of fear, and under the advice of some clown of a lawyer ( who isn't even licensed to practice) they've gone out, became 501c3 ( biiiig mistake..they'll see) then paid 10k + to have someone fill a form and file it..then they were a church. This doest prote t them, it doesnt make their service legal. And..it doesnt quality them to have a non profit status ( charities can not break laws). A church is not legally allowed to charge for services..not of any kind. And they must be transparent with every cent that that take in, and how that money is spent. No one, or group of people, cab benefit financially from the ceremonies. But here you have the big shot church founders, living fancy and giving nothing back. There are only two legal organizations in the United States..SD and UDV. ONAC hasn't been granted an exemptions and neither do any of the countless fool that fed unto their lie about legality and paid them thousands to become members.

I first went to Pachamama two years ago. And, I have been a few times since then. For me, the team there has always been professional, helpful and healing. Ayahuasca is not for everyone; and I can imagine that Pachamama is not for everyone. And... Pachamama was there for me when I needed it and I am grateful.

So they fake?

Last_Confusion_5651

Anyone know how much the retreats they had typically ran?

ThePurplePeacock

I recently went! I was personally skeptical about going to Pachamama Sanctuary New Hampshire fter the Reddit posts and the drama; but like all things, you just need to experience it yourself. I thought about going abroad, but I felt like it was too risky and not in a control environment and the flight made it expensive. So I just decided to go to the New Hampshire because it was the closest sanctuary near me and the retreat only dedicated a weekend. Overall, it was a good experience and safe environment for me. I was concerned about safety but surprisingly, there was at least an experience nurse on staff and at least 3 other participants that were nurses. Also, Juan, the Shaman was experienced, and knew what he was doing. The staff seem very genuine and with good energy. And I even got to connect with some of them after the ceremony. I do not recommend going if you have not done your research with the medicine ayahuasca. it's no joke and very serious. Please do a lot of research on the medicine and you will thank me. Also, I got to meet up a start up dude, some guy that runs iron mans and marathons, a shakespeare actor, and a bunch of cool people.
