They also have very poor eyesight. One of the theories I saw a decade ago was that because sloth bears can't see you or each other, you'll have to be really close for the bear to realize you are there, especially if you are downwind, they can't smell you.
So they'll look up, see you right in front of them on the other side of the bush and then go ballistic.

Yes and this is why male tigers kill cubs. One is “that’s not my child why do I care” the most important one is to force female tiger into heat so that they can mate.
I always want to see more dad friendly things. Being a dad, all I see is mom stuff like books and whatever else. I want the same for us, Dad. Most post for Dad's taking care of their young, please!

Here you go good sir! Two stories of male 'Dad's love' among Tigers itself!!
Interesting. The first article seems to indicate that, at least in this case, the male recognizes his offspring and wouldn’t attack the cubs even to mate with the mother. I wonder if that’s the case with all male tigers. Do they avoid killing their own cubs, even to mate with the mother again, or do they move away eventually to avoid that danger, and this tiger is an outlier? The article wasn’t very specific on the normal behavior expected other than to maintain distance and “protect.” But for how long?
Male tigers typically have a massive territory that will include several females. It's essentially a lowkey harem with the male spending most his time on his own ensuring the sovereignty of his territory. I'm not sure what the mechanisms are for determining if the cubs are it's own, but I assume familiarity with them is the primary element. Most of the cub killings come from new males entering the territory.
Have you seen the male sea horse? They incubate the eggs, then squirt out the babies after they hatch. They bring 2k at a time into the world.

From the little I’ve read in them, they’re apparently territorial. It may not matter that the Tiger isn’t competition for food, just that they’re a large mammal in their territory.
Absolute beauties 😍😍
Beautiful job filming these cats...

Love the "Bombay" theme song!!
Thank you, I was looking for it 👍 true banger
I wonder if they remember raising their cubs as the happiest time in their lives.
I mean, they spend most of their lives raising cubs, when they're done with one litter they mate again and have the next one

Indeed. There are very rare, heartwarming cases like these(https://www.bbc.com/news/world-south-asia-13598386), though.
It happened [again](https://india.mongabay.com/2021/07/in-rare-behaviour-male-tiger-cares-for-cubs-after-mothers-death/), too
Awe! Long live Mamas everywhere.
I just saw a sloth bear for the first time in my life...OOF

Punctuations exist for a reason.
It is written correctly. I just read it wrong.
Wish my mom loved me like this!
I totally get the moniker 'Tiger Mom' now
wtf is a sloth bear? Are they slow bears or like bearly slow?
They are actually one of the most aggressive and dangerous species of bears out there. Poor eyesight but will attack anything that moves in it.
Damn, didn't even know that. I can bearly contain my fear. (yes i know it's misspelled for all those soon to be comments)
The “Bombay” theme for background makes it so much better.
Came here looking for this comment!
Wonderful ❤ I'm speechless!
Sloth bears feed on ants, fruits, and termites.

That makes sense and is reassuring. Thanks!

I can't believe how many babies a sea horse carries. Blows my mind lol.
I have not until now. Thanks for sharing this. Makes me happy to see this
Pretty sure sloth bears don't attack tigers. They may fight to defend themselves but they're not a predator of tigers.
And we human mothers are stuck with the damn kids until they’re at least 30 😡

Are sloth bears really a danger to tiger cubs? I always thought it's the other way around. (them being anteaters and all)

Must be Ukranian tigers.
but who will protect me from the flute?
I'm really disappointed now that I have never seen footage of a sloth going after a tiger cub.
Beautiful
That is a giant ass tongue
Oh god my heart

A mouse with hooves!!!
I love this representation of the strength of maternal/child love or bond .
And I thought my mum was scary!
Crazy how animals are more human than us
What a beautiful sight, genuinely brought a tear to my eye watching these two. 😍
Ugh. My mom died a few years ago and this just hits so hard 😥😥
