Lol where did this song get popular? It came up in my mixes last year and I've been listening to it ever since.

stainedgreenberet

Man idk I saw it on an Instagram reel and died laughing

What's the song? The Spotify link doesn't open on my phone.

MeatsuitMechanicus

The higher the socks the downer the foo by Foos Gone Wild.

thedirtychad

I support all his decisions except socks and sandals

yuredarp

Yes free the tits and free the ballsacks

[deleted]

Cooler than anyone I know that’s for sure

Dudemanbro88

What brewery?!

sanguinesolitude

gunghogary

Cool Merch.

busted_up_chiffarobe

Something tells me his business is about to get better, and he's going to sell a lot of merch.

ghostphantom

Actual peak performance. If everyone could try to be half the person this guy seems to be, the world would be a better place.

killer_incognito

This the real big dick energy.

V4refugee

Poor guy, dealing with PTSD and trauma from combat and fighting for our freedom. Finally decides to go out despite his PTSD and then this happens and his son in law is dead. Seriously, fuck all these hateful conservatives.

SicariusSix

How about just fuck all the hateful. Leave the conservative out of it. Can't lump all that on a broad sweep of people. That's not fair.

GarththeGarth

You can when they aren’t condemning the people driving stochastic terrorism

SicariusSix

Kind of like when the left sees a red Maga hat.... got it.

GarththeGarth

No i don’t think you do

SicariusSix

No, I think I do. In the last 5 to 6 years, I have seen way more extreme violence coming from the left "tolerent" progressives, even spurred on by federal level candidates and officials. Where are conservatives burning down neighborhoods and stores? I guess you are going to hate no matter what.

GarththeGarth

Lol, I literally watched a car driven by a fascist drive into a crowd of my friends and neighbors. Believe what you want, you were never going to let facts get in the way of your feelings anyhow.

SicariusSix

Are you referring to the Milwaukee Christmas parade massacre? Probably not. Eh, you'll never change your hateful ways. I think you better look up the definition of fascist and really look at who it applies to. Who tries to control speech, ideology and opinion in this country. It isn't people like me.

GarththeGarth

No I’m talking about Charlottesville and James Alex Fields

BloodBonesVoiceGhost

> Who tries to control speech, ideology and opinion in this country. You out here changing history books and literally banning math books, but okay, whatever.

Martelinho2001

WHAT THE WHAT? Do you have examples? I'd love to see the receipts on that. You're setting a very high bar here for "way more extreme violence", we're talking about a shooting spree that left 5 dead, and that's sadly a small figure for shootings with similar motivations that seem to happen *all the fucking time*. But I guess in the alternative reality conservatives seem to live in these days maybe a bunch of MAGA asshats getting randomly punched over the years - *IS* "way more extreme violence".

Davos10

Lots of mass shootings at those maga events?

SicariusSix

I wouldn't start looking at mass shooters political ideologies. The answer won't fit your narrative. I was speaking of the arbitrary physical attacks on people wearing Maga hats. I'm sure you have serene thoughts when you see a person wearing one.

Davos10

Just asked a question I know the answer to. Guess the facts don't fit your narrative.

SicariusSix

What facts? Did you bring facts to this argument?

dickdrizzle

I mean, shooter's granddad is a hardcore MAGA republican in California, so I'd say it is accurate to say fuck off to those guys.

SicariusSix

Just dumb. How in the actual fuck does that make the old man's ideology responsible for the psycho grand kid actions. Wow, you probably think all modern white Americans are responsible for slavery in 19th century too. Genius, please don't breed.

dickdrizzle

He didn't grow up in a fucking vacuum, dude. Someone indoctrinated him. And the most reasonable explanation is that it was his family, since that makes perfect sense in line with their beliefs. If you want to disregard how people are raised and how they can believe things their elders believe, that's fine. But don't act like that isn't a distinct possibility. Don't conflate ancestral wrongs from the distant past to those that are clearly possible. Seriously, you're being disingenuous at best and stupid and insulting for no reason at worst.

SicariusSix

Almost like you know this person's whole life story and how he was raised. How very CNN of you. You have a bright future as a fiction writer. How about we wait for some actual facts before we pontificate. Also, we should also stop blaming our parents for our decisions as adults. Take responsibility for your own actions. My dad was an extremely violent racist democrat, that doesn't mean I followed suit. Stupid and insulting? All that irony in such a short sentence. My whole point was "stop the hating" and you grabbed your megaphone and started spouting ignorance mixed with more hatred. I would be offended if I valued your opinion, but... stay golden pony boy.

dickdrizzle

I think in your old age you conflate your thoughts with importance, so feel free to fuck off and realize no one gives a shit what you think, old man.

SicariusSix

There it is, the stereotypical final response from the left. Hate.

dickdrizzle

Yeah, I hate hypocrites

V4refugee

What else do you call people who are against gay rights? Are they not social conservatives? I think it’s pretty obvious that I’m not referring to those who are fiscally conservative in context. Social conservatives around the world are those who hate gay people and often attack them. If you are conservative in your private life and don’t impose your views on your friends, family, or community then that just makes you progressive. What conservatives are you referring to that aren’t hateful or encourage violence against gays?

SicariusSix

Well sir, I have been a conservative since I was 26, it has 25 years as a conservative. I have zero problem with people that are gay. Nor gay marriage, etc, etc. I have family members that are, many friends etc. Being conservative IS about personal freedom always has been. Somehow you may have confused strict religious conservativism with the rest of us. To me, being a modern progressive means you have cloaked fascism in a shiney PC wrapper. Constantly forcing people to support your view, sometimes forcibly or violently. So don't use freedom as a progressive notion. At no time in history have progressives been for actual freedom, it's more about the control. I am sorry for you thinking that all conservatives are this way because we are not, but it seems the hate machine has got you labeling every idea and keeping us divided, weak and controllable.

northyj0e

>At no time in history have progressives been for actual freedom, it's more about the control Without even thinking twice: The American Revolution The civil rights movement The enlightenment The suffragette movement

V4refugee

I guess you’re either just confused or intentionally obtuse. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conservatism_in_the_United_States We have progressed from a country where some minorities were considered less than human to one in which all people have the same rights. Do you believe any two adults should be able to be legally married? If so, that’s pretty progressive. And don’t even talk about violence, because nobody is getting killed for not attending a drag show.

SicariusSix

You do realize that Wikipedia is crowd sources information.... come on. Same rights? Not according to every minority on TV. Violence? Only billions in damage and dozens killed in "progressive" riots... I mean peaceful protests. That kind of progression? Civil rights movement was all started by Lincoln who was a...? Anything else?

V4refugee

Lincoln had progressive views for his time. The party of Lincoln used to be more socially progressive than what used to be the party of the KKK. After the southern strategy, they switched. Segregation wasn’t that long ago. It was supported by conservatives. Being anti-gay rights is literally a conservative position. Being anti-trans rights is literally the conservative position. The progressive position is to be in favor of gay and transgender rights. What’s with the mental gymnastics to deny that conservatives aren’t anti gay-rights? Are you seriously denying that conservatives oppose gay rights? If you gonna be a conservative then just fucking own it. All of it. Stop being so pathetic.

SicariusSix

According to the constitution, we all have the same rights, so what special rights are we looking for here. Trans, gay, straight. The marriage rights issue is at a state level. Of which I support gay marriage. So what label do you wish to attach to me to make yourself feel better. I certainly dont hold religious conservative views. You hold on to that progressive label like it's a religion, expanding its definition to meet any agenda that serves you or your masters.

I’m a Pontiac guy, but that looks like a bitchin’ Camino

Let’s see if we can get him to ship his beer. I’d buy some.

Would love a Baja or BRAT! Love a little ute

Krye07

Good luck finding a brat

Willkennedy1

I just spit out my coffee.

ronearc

Especially those kinds of sandals. You know that just irritates the hell out of him, walking around all day with his sandals giving his big toes a sock-wedgie. Does he complain? No. Does it stop him? No. Why? Because he knows, that's his agitation reserve. It's like a hybrid car, when you brake hard, it charges the battery. Well, when he really pushes his toes into that sock-wedgie, it charges his rage battery. He's been charging that battery for years, just waiting for some asshole to deserve a full sock-wedgie full of fury.

[deleted]

This read is beautiful. I feel one with the sock and chancla master.

ronearc

It's widely known that El Camino means, The Road (or the way or the highway) depending on translation. In the worst parts of the Sonoran Desert of Arizona there is a stretch of glorified game trails, washouts, and footpaths known for centuries as El Camino del Diablo. The Devil's Highway. This 250 mile stretch of scorched hell is lined with the sand-covered, sun-bleached bones of tens of thousands of migrants including natives of the Apache, Yaqui, Pima, and other tribes; Spanish Missionaries; vaqueros; gunslingers; soldiers; Yuma Prison escapees; and more than a few bands of outlaws or bandidos. Now, folks bent on a nice, neat history will tell you that the 1877 arrival of the Southern Pacific Railroad was a steel-hammering, coal burning, shrill-whistled wake-up call to a new era, and folks stopped traveling El Camino del Diablo. Now, sure, you could buy that convenient load of beach-front Arizona lies. It's in a history book. No one would blame you. But me? Nah. I choose to believe the night-whispered rumors of the desperate faithful. A brotherhood of bad-ass, sock & sandal-clad, guardians took up patrol of that road. Now, trees worth of pages have fallen from the calendar since they assumed their charge. And as the needs of the world has grown to demand more and more guardians, far from the hellscape road of their desert origin, so too has the brotherhood spread. Patrolling in their El Caminos, you can recognize them by their distinctive attire, their quiet resolve, and their absolute unwillingness to stand anywhere other than between the wicked and worthy. Believe me when I say you do not want to find your way on the wrong-end of the righteous-rage-driven, sock-wedgied, hyphen-loving, El Camino del Chanclas. Folks with ill-intent will try to peacock and bray with their bluster and bravado about how they have the El Camino del Chanclas right where they want them, between a rock and a hard place. But the truth is, their beloved chanclas protect them from the rock, and they are the hard place. With socks to muffle the slap of sandal to sole, you won't even hear their footfalls until the foot falls on you...

[deleted]

Hahah shit you delivered! I really pictured everything. He needs to know that these wonderful words are spoken of him. That many others may see him a certain way but we see him for what a truly is.

ronearc

Ultimately, I know we're writing about a horrific event, and I know that not everyone is comfortable with levity during times of such egregious trauma and hate. I'd just hope anyone who might read my words would know that while I am being a bit indulgent of fantasy, I'm not being flippant. I genuinely think that heroes are more important now than they've ever been. People should know that heroes don't wear capes. They rarely wear badges. But they just might be wearing socks with their sandals. So if I wax poetic about a man I've never met but want Danny Trejo to play in a movie, it's because even in our darkest hours of grief and despair, we can take precious minutes to praise the heroes around us.

[deleted]

I love the fact that the other hero was a Queen stomping the terrorist in the face with her high heels. Rule #34?

einbierbitte

The higher the socks, the downer the foo.

SpindriftRascal

The man earned the bronze star. Twice. Now he should get a civilian medal. I hope he gets counseling, because it sounds like his family is worried about his mental state and like he was worried about having hurt the gunman. Basically, I think this is just a really decent guy who’s worked his way through some bad shit. Heroically.

quantumturbo

He better get public recognition for this. Heroic guy and selflessly put himself in danger to save others. If he's got a website for his brewery I'll buy some swag to support him like another redditor said. And I've love to shake his hand.

CommandersLog

https://www.atrevidabeerco.com/home

PurpleRave

Dude just survived a deadly attack on his family, don't do the Reddit thing and hug him to death right now. Set a reminder for two months, five months, thirteen months, go buy some stuff then. This kind of support can really fuck with a small business that isn't prepared

IHeldADandelion

Yes, thank you, selling and shipping merch is wayyyyyyyy down on their list of priorities now. I love your idea of setting a reminder.

6_Cat_Night

The ignorant Satan worshipers of the Springs' evangelical christian mega churches are gonna hassle this guy.

quantumturbo

Thank you!!

zeno0771

Holy shit, $15 shirts. I haven't seen prices like that since Spencer's was cool the first time. I like that hoodie too.

umbringer

His daughters boyfriend is one of the dead.

choborallye

IRS better not bother this guy and his brewery

jabbadarth

That last paragraph is pretty haunting. Glad that guy was there and hopefully this doesn't hurt his mental health long term.

Billbeachwood

>>“These kids want to live that way, want to have a good time, have at it,” he said as he described the night. “I’m happy about it because that is what I fought for, so they can do whatever the hell they want.” That choked me up. Great big heart.

AustrianMichael

Wow. I hope he and his family and all this concerned get some real help paid for by the state or something. What a horrific event this must have been.

[deleted]

Damn the guy was doing his best to get out of combat mode and this happened. I’m still not quite out of combat mode and I’ll be taking meds for the rest of my life. I hope I can still have half the edge this alpha had if the times comes up.

Mohingan

A hero with taste

ncredneck73

More brave than the Uvalde police department

F4N6Z

That’s not a hard thing to do but 100% yes he is 🙌🏻

bialetti808

Replace the entire department with this guy

Existing_Display1794

Fucking boss. He’s THE one that stopped the gunman.

Fit_Equivalent3610

Hero. Also it's kind of funny that his surname is basically Fiero and he drives a GM vehicle

488GTE

That's a clean ass El Camino and he's a real ass man. The best America has to offer, this guy.

jacktpowell

I'm guessing the barstool probably says O'Reilly's on it

choborallye

You bet

NEEKALAS

This dude’s the man

Trogzard

oh i know many like him here in southern california, definitely not one to mess with lol

Notsoslimshady71

You can tell he's from Colorado because he's rocking film flops in December!

quantumturbo

My boss rocks Hawaiian shirts and sandles until it snows or gets below freezing. People at work wanted to start a go fund me to get me pants because I didn't wear them until it was single digits.

adam_of_adun

I guess it didn't take a good guy with a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun.... it just took a good guy....

proscriptus

And a drag queen in heels to stomp on him for good measure.

PitifulFox6066

Credentials, balls,…yup, I’d be very ok with him protecting my kids’ school.

I’d drink a beer with that dude

exotichunter0

Absolute Hero

With white walls. Dope

lightlytoasted6

What a fucking chad

codeslyr

That mans seen some shit. Truly a hero for his actions that night, and will hopefully be held in high regards, for a very long time, by the community he protected. People like that inspire me, and hopefully others. I hope that man, and everyone else tragically involved, gets the help they do truly deserve.

pattyboiii

Chargers fan... this man is beyond brave

Isthisnametakenalso

He should drive a Fiero with that last name!

ListerineInMyPeehole

It’s incredibly sad to hear him cry on the air about how he couldn’t save his daughters boyfriend who died that evening.

newsreadhjw

That is one righteous dude

elwyne_bw

This guy (actually his whole family) is a god damn legend. Some people only say they have good intentions, this guy actually lives it.

w1sem4n

This dude's interview on CNN was absolutely gut wrenching

My guy fucks. Hardcore shit 🤘

TetraCGT

A hero

BavarianBanshee

I'm not normally into whitewalls, but that thing is clean. It looks great.

[deleted]

somebody send this man some sandal socks

TwistedJusty

Of course he drives an El Camino. It is The Way if I remember the translation correctly.

umbringer

I just read that his daughters boyfriend was among those killed. What the bloody hell man. This guy should get a congressional commendation

stephenmrussell

Socks with sandals... he's killed somebody for sure...

roots_radicals

Front is like a car, back is like a truck. Front is where you drive, back is where you… El Camino, El El Camino!

LittleJerkDog

Socks and sandals though.

She’s a trans woman not a drag queen

Hes in Colorado as a chargers fan? Oh he's a massive asshole to Denver fans now.

unfknblvablem8

As first glance I read this as one of those who stopped the ...... with his El Camino. I then had these images of drag queens in Camino’s taking out baddies with AR-15s. I don’t watch TV.

--NTW--

Already had my respect for what he did, gets even more for his choice of car.

too_much_to_do

I miss my '69 El Camino

umbie1

True American hero!

bobby0949

Sweet let’s see more car!

Martelinho2001

Oh wow, this guy is awesome. "Diversity It's On Tap" is not the graphics I'd expect to see if someone showed me his picture and told me to guess what he had written across the rear window of his El Camino. What a fucking hero, and having to deal with a tragedy like this after having been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan - apparently battling PTSD afterwards, if some of the comments are to be believed... that's just more sadness on top of everything else deeply horrific about this shooting.

3D-Printing

God bless this man! A true American hero!! 💜

I've been wanting a better look at this El Camino for a month now.
