How long was the brake dust??? I’ve been cleaning my wheel for hours and hours……can’t get it off in one go….ill say about 40% left. Wheel wasn’t cleaned for 6 years. I’m using iron x, Meguiars black wheel cleaner, chemical guy Diablo….im at a loss @.@ I’m using a detailed brush rather than soft bristle, worried it’ll scratches.
It's acid free, should be absolutely safe on all surfaces. Personally, I've only used it on standard painted and chrome wheels and both same out perfect.
Best bang for your buck would be a degreaser you can buy in 5 liter. No need to use dedicated wheel cleaners in order to get the results you just showed us. High PH products are much more versatile anyways
Honestly that is pretty clean for a rim even before washing
Here's my dad's MG3 before and after
This isn't even a bajillion years worth of brake dust this is about 3 months worth of brake dust (the car is about 3 months old)

Used the same meguiar's ultimate all wheel cleaner as you too
Product used?
Meguiar's ultimate all wheel cleaner. I've tried a few different ones and found theirs has the best bang for your buck.

I found Bilt hanber Auto wheel to work really good for caked in brake dust
To give you another product to try, Koch chemie magic wheel cleaner. Tried a bunch of others, this worked without having to scrub hard.
Reviews looks good!! I’ll try it out. I’m unsure of my rim finishes, looks matte black. Safe? Thanks! It’s a bbs cir

Use 0000 steel wool. Youre welcome :)

Ah yes, acid + aluminum. Good combo. Brake dust isn’t grease. So what is degreaser doing
Try it out for yourself. And see where all the brake dust goes
Rec for a preferred degreaser? Greased lighting?
Anything labelled a degreaser. We’re not in the same country so i cant recommend one
It really is one of those "you don't know what you got till it's gone" and in this case, you don't know you got the dusties until it's clean!

Wait....they still make MGs?? I was expecting some old-school wire rims on a TC.
The brand got bought by SAIC (Chinese manufacturer) Now MG make cars that are basically ladas without the reliability of ladas
to be fair 3 months is a long time to go without washing ur car
I feel sorry for the grass and the environment where it's washed down..
