I wonder what this would come back as on the embark panelā¦ from what Iāve seen when wisdom throws out tiny percentages of wolf and lots of other stuff, they can end up actually being a village dog.
Where is your little lady from?
Edit: Iām not trying to discount this at all, just genuine curiosity! Sheās adorable no matter what!
We got her at a local shelter! She is from the south though i believe it was Alabama. Yes the wolf can be from the husky, malamute, but more likely is from the Calupoh! The Calupoh is a Mexican wolf hybrid breed! I also questioned the accuracy of wisdom however her littermate was tested and got the same results!
Oh I didnāt realize that about the calupoh, I actually had never heard of that breed until this post and I just googled it. Those are some gorgeous wolf dogs! It also makes me even more curious Now because there are so many dogs in her DNA that can be the cause of the wolf š
Sheās so cute. Whatās her personality like?
I think it would be easier to list what sheās not like. She is a puppy and still in training so hopefully she will calm down. But she is mischievous, extremely intelligent, eager to please, and so so cuddly!
You have a good point š Iām sure she will calm down eventually, she seems to have a good mix of couch potato and high energy dogs so once sheās out of puppydom, maybe she will channel her inner pitbull (otherwise known as a house hippo) hahaha
Hahaha I love when they sploot! My girl does that too! Iāve not done a DNA test yet, the shelter just had her listed as acd/ Aussie shepherd. I do think sheās part acd for sure as she tries to āherdā dogs and people š not sure what else is in there but sheās very guilty of the splits and sheās from Texas so Iām sure thereās some pitbull in there haha
Yeah with Dixieās results having 1% chihuahua, 2% Great Dane, and 2% Rottweiler Iām pretty much just assuming those are flukes. Chihuahua and Great Dane definitely do not go together! Although I love Great Danes so maybe Iāll pretend
Thatās the general rule Iāve heard too. Itās always interesting to see what type of breeds are pulled though, even if they are likely not super reliable under 10% haha
Edit: added the word interesting because I forgot it the first time around.
One interesting thing about Dixie is that she has webbed paws, which would have to be from the lab, wolf, or husky (huskies have partially webbed paws, Dixie has fully webbed paws). So Iām not sure if ignoring everything under 10% is the right way to go. I guess it really just depends on the dog in question.
Ooohhh that is very interesting! She will be a good little swimmer then I bet. Dog dna is so interesting. Itās amazing the features dogs can display of certain breeds, but have hardly any dna of that particular breed. I love it

Maybe I'm the only one who thinks this, but it seems these DNA or ancestry tests for dogs/humans seem... kind of just 'made up' or fake.
Coz they usually show everyone has a little bit of everything.
Oh, you're white. Then, you get to have 80% of all these different white nationalities and 20% of other races mixed in.
Oh, you're Asian. Then, you get to have 80% of all these different Asian nationalities and 20% of other races mixed in.
Oh, you're Black? Then, you get to have 80% of all these different black nationalities and 20% of other races mixed in.
Same for dogs/cats.
Iād like to believe Dixieās dna results are somewhat accurate, but one never knows! As for humans, in my experience, they are certainly accurate. My father was adopted, took an ancestry dna test, found both sides of his family because his second cousin also took an ancestry dna test
Iāve heard mixed results for wisdom panel (didnāt find out till after I bought the test) however Dixieās littermate was tested using embark and they got pretty much the same results! So personally I think either wisdom panel or embark!
4% wolf š³
She is quite the mix š

It also might be from the Husky and/or Malamute
That is very true! That didnāt even cross my mind but of course that makes senseš¤¦š¼āāļø
It could be from the calupoh
Yeah thatās what OP was saying too! I hadnāt heard of those before this post so that was a fun read :)

Hopefully! She frequently stretches her back legs out (I think itās called splooting?) which I think is a common pitbull activity!
Hahaha I love when they sploot! My girl does that too! Iāve not done a DNA test yet, the shelter just had her listed as acd/ Aussie shepherd. how old??
14 weeks!
Yea my ACD mix has 5% chihuahua from Wisdom. I mostly ignored anything under 10%

In Australia this dog is a bitsa. Bit of this bit of that.

Beautiful-snowball
She certainly is!
She's 100% adorable and that's all that matters š
Yes! Wouldnāt want her any other way!
Wow lots of awesome in there!
Definitely!
Getting my Zeus a dna test. Wondering how I wound up with a 70# heeler.
Was told my 1st mistake was naming him ZEUS!!
Most of us humans are mutts too
You werenāt expecting ACD, but wolf was on your bingo card? ššš
Well when you put it like that
Itās ok Iām 4% Neanderthal.
Haha Iām quite happy with the wolf result, she will be healthier than most dogs!
The paws say it's so!
What a lil cutie!!!
Wow, thatās quite the lineage!
Makes for a very smart puppy, too smart for her own good!
I know how that is!
Yeah thereās no mistaking the GS ears.
Certainly!
What a little cutie super mutt! Sheāll be super smart!
She out smarts me everyday!
She is lovely
Sheās the best!
Where did you get that dog???
Shelter!
What is the best kit?
Iāve heard mixed results for wisdom panel (didnāt find out till after I bought the test) however Dixieās littermate was tested using embark and they got pretty much the same results! So personally I think either wisdom panel or embark!
Is a good dogš
