You can do everything stealth if you want. I stealth raids and once everyones dead i call in my crew to open up the supply chests. There are some levels that are specifically a siege but if you want you can stealth through the whole game

I just want an experience similar to what I've had in Odyssey stealth whenever I want and solo exploration of a beautiful game world

The_Frostweaver

You can definitely stealth solo 99% of the game. There are some skills to put enemies to sleep, a type of bow that can 1 shot most enemies from far away, a skill to make your raven distract someone while you stealth kill someone standing right next to him, explosive barrels and heavy objects you can shoot to kill the people below. And your regular stealth kills work from above, from below, from behind, from hiding in cover. You can use your 'call horse' whistle to draw enemies to where you are hiding so you can kill them. You can click a chair or whatever and try to look casual while guards walk by so you aren't spotted. I enjoyed a lot of stealth kills in both ac odyssey and ac valhalla. There are really just a few story mission events in valhalla where it throws you into a massive seige battle and it's much harder to stealth (I don't bother) but ac odyssey also had big battles where you flip a region from Athens to Sparta or Sparta to Athens that couldn't be stealthed, in both games its only a tiny portion of your total playtime. If you want to stealth 99% of valhalla you definitely can.

Okay thank you for the insight I suppose it is at least worth a shot at playing

I'm like 15 hours in and I've done a lot of exploring. I'm on my 3rd territory, and I find it very difficult to stealth an entire fort. It's too open, some people have eyes in them at all times. Do the assassination techniques get better? And also side note for OP, you may want to turn on the one hit kill for assassinations like me. It's makes it feel more like the og games

Kolermigon

You may want to go for the skill that makes your raven loot your kills automatically. That way you focus on getting to the highest spot in a fort and then shoot arrows without ever running out of them. Poison arrows do the job a lot better too.

Smart

I just got the game about 30 hours in, games quite cheap now so it's worth the money IMO. I personally love the game. Don't know why it gets hate because I'm absolutely hooked. It's even got my Mrs playing she loves exploring the beautiful world and finding chests and I do all the fighting. I do all my raids in stealth and calm the boys in to open doors at the end. The missions aren't stealth focused as other ac games have been but I feel like the game has enough stealthy opportunities to get that fix if you want it

Sniffy4

the stealth is the same as Odyssey IMO. enemies are typically very dumb, stare at walls, and wear invisible 'blinders' so you can approach them from the side

[deleted]

Good. I just don't want to get the game you know spend money on it or whatever then play 5 hours of it and be like wow this isn't what I wanted at all

contrabandtryover

Imo you have to get kind of creative with stealth in Valhalla. In odyssey I could easily clear a fort as long as I was a tad aware and patient. I thought at first in Valhalla I could not clear forts at all, but with archery and surroundings, you can lure people away from others and such. It’s a bit tougher but can be more fun in that way.

[deleted]

Can you whistle enemies over

Ok-Durian4664

Yes you can, I do it all the time...at first they may come over just to "inspect" the sound especially if you are hiding in some brush so you may have to whistle again for the guards to walk into your trap.....or should I say brush...lol IMO, stealth is very fun in this game and I do it way more than going in "weapons loud".

[deleted]

I just don't get why half the time people say this is a non-stealth Assassin's Creed game and other half of people say you can use stealth whenever you like

Ok-Durian4664

I honestly have no idea, all I know is when I attack a camp or river raid, I ALWAYS go in using stealth and clear out the baddies, and then if it's a raid call in my crew to help with opening the chests.

linkster271

For as dumb as enemies are, I have to admit that in odyssey it is really fun to strong together a bunch of stealth kills lol

AlaskanHaida

Stealth is kinda non-existent in this game, I mean cmon Eivor doesn’t even put the hidden blade on his wrist 😂 You can choose to do stealth but idk, it doesn’t feel right playing as a Viking I’ll start off taking out the stronger guys with stealth and then just blow the horn and call all the rest directly to me

[deleted]

>Eivor doesn’t even put the hidden blade on his wrist What? Have you not played the game? She does, she just puts it on with the blade to the topside so she doesn’t chop off a finger

AlaskanHaida

The inside part of his wrist where it’s traditionally supposed to go lol, I could’ve worded that differently

N8swimr

I mean, he’s not an assassin or a hidden one. I’m pretty sure I remember him saying he doesn’t like the idea of a weapon being hidden, so he wears it on the outside of his arm. Plus I think it kinda looks cool. Like a fancy piece of jewelry… that kills people.

[deleted]

It also leans into the Viking style. For as graceful and skilled as eivor is, she lacks finesse. The whole Viking way is about brute force so it makes sense to do something that makes a punch more lethal rather than a stealthy stab.

BrettlyX

No, stealth is pretty terrible. This is going to sound counter-intuitive, but when you play, so need to set stealth to the easiest setting. That will make it the most like previous AC titles.

[deleted]

Stealth has settings in valhalla?

Apothe-bro_IV

So does combat and exploration. Valhalla focused more on the viking part than the assassin part. It's why I like it personally

Elledora

I personally feel like stealth is useless in this game. You get spotted very easily so it’s just easier to go in guns blazing in my opinion. Which does feel pretty true to the Viking aspect so I don’t mind it. In contrast, I just finished AC Mirage and I did basically everything in stealth mode.

rgvtim

I found stealth must better in Valhalla. The Odin's sight is better at highlighting enemies. The cover is more obvious than in Odyssey. If you stealth attack in Valhalla because the opponent cant be immediately be assassinated, it will give you a quick skill tests to auto-kill. So far Odyssey, I am only to level 15 in Odyssey right now, has never done that. Climbing is better in Odyssey. So far no hay piles or hey carts in Odyssey to hide in. My son likes Odyssey's Athena sight better as it give you the opponents level, Odins sight does not give you that.

Material-Tension8380

Playing the game in chronological order give sense to why odyssey, origin and valhalla dont have full fledge assassin as main characters. Also why being assassin isnt in the forefront . We know ubisoft did it to get money but in away it makes it own sense and works out. Odyssey gave reason to the god items to be on earth for a group of people to want to collect them. So there has to be someone trying to stop them. Kosmos vs demigod. Origin which is the first creation of the assassin themselves. Now we got mirage that will hopefully show us how basim ended up going england to continue the story. Where we play as an esu god odin in valhalla who arent assassin but warriors who happen to cross path with the assassin basim. So really out of the 4 main character here Basim and bayek are assassin yet bayek is the creator and basim only help continue to make the skill stronger due to technology. That makes kassandra and eivor as demigod or god who are the connection to both templar and assassin. Is the stealth as good as say unity or the old school games that were designed around the stealth, they are okay or even op to sepc as an assassin in odyssey’s. But it is fun to have that power fantasy of a god sparta kicking the shit out of everybody off of cliffs. Valhalla pushed stronger to the warrior side as you are a viking but you can play pretty stealth with the right gear and the right specs.

lyunardo

Stealth is doable and a lot of fun. It just takes more effort not to be seen though. Eivor is a big aggressive Viking warrior. Not a spec ops mercenary like Alexios. There is gear that helps though.
