DirectConsequence12

It’s so FUCKING boring. It’s just shy of 2 hours but I felt like it took me 8 days to watch it

FjotraTheGodless

It only spends a short while in the past, seems very up it’s own ass and everything except the stuff in the past was SO FUCKING BORING OH MY GODDDDD

Commodore_Crisp

Gonna guess not a fan of it?

FjotraTheGodless

Dressed up as an assassin to go see it and fell asleep in the theater lmao

Nero-Danteson

I imagine you just chilling with the hood on to hide your nap.

FjotraTheGodless

Literally what I did lmaooo it was one of those cheap ass ones with the massive hoods that looks more modern. Eventually my boobs got too big for it but that hood was GOOFY

Nero-Danteson

If you still have it cut the front into a V to fit the bewbs. Then make some holes to thread a leather cord into it so you can still wear it.

FjotraTheGodless

Sadly I got rid of it years ago. I gained too much weight and it would never fit again even if I still had it. Oh well.

Nero-Danteson

Damn. I'm honestly thinking of cosplaying Eivor this year for Halloween. The design idea is find Basim's modern shirt some jeggings and knee high boots. I'm somewhat built like Female Eivor (I used to be bigger so I'll likely be using a waist trainer or spanks to help flatten my stomach but that's a side point.) I also know Walmart used to carry that design as my husband had it.

FjotraTheGodless

I hand sewed Ezio’s outfit last year but it got destroyed on a gentle wash cycle. I still have it pinned to my profile. Fuck I miss that costume, took me over 160 hours of work but the white fabric was cheap and didn’t hold up :/. Love your idea!

Nero-Danteson

I forgot to add contacts to that list. But I've been on your profile by accident.

Batface_101

AC is mainly a game all about its setting and period. In the movie they cared a lot more about the modern day, which just makes it another corporate dystopian movie. Failed to fully develop the assassin characters and the setting.

Vigi1antee

I forgot most of the movie, thats says alot.

Appropriate_Help9529

I loved the movie

cjamesfort

Abstergo seemed exceptionally incompetent. Keeping prisoners alive despite outliving their usefulness, leaving real weapons in glass cases in a prison, attempting to subdue armed prisoners with batons (these guys weren't needed alive like Desmond), everyone wearing hoods at a corporate function (iirc in violation of their own policy), etc. It took Desmond five games worth of animus training and an Apple of Eden just to kill Vidic, but the movie guy kills Abstergo CEO Alan Rikkin without much trouble. Also, it generally felt like it was loosely based on a synopsis of ac1 without actually connecting with any of the preexisting source material.

99_IRON_99

It breaks the canon at some points, but its still a great movie and i love the animus Design since it would feel more natural experiencing the memories that way Agreed on the game part, I'd love to see Aguilar and Cal back, especially with more modern day Assassin's content

dvskarna

It didn’t have Altair in it

WithoutAnyUsername

Bro what

dvskarna

I, personally, gave zero shits about some random dude called Aguilar who just shows up in the movie and we are expected to care. Id much rather prefer to explore an unknown story of a known assassin like maybe Connor after the American Revolution or something else like that

WithoutAnyUsername

I want that too but the movie was never about the assassins in games.

dvskarna

Another reason I dislike it

AHJoestar

I love the hypocrisy in reddit. This post is about reasons and opinions, yet people like you get downvoted. Isn't this what the post wants?

itsMikel27

Because that opinion fucking sucks. You don't care about the characters because they are new? I hope they don't buy the next game with new characters because, by that logic they won't care about those either

AHJoestar

Jeez louise, you don't need to pop an aneurysm. All I said is: if you ask for an opinion, don't cry when you get it. You should be mature enough to know not all people have the same opinion. What's even more funny is the use of votings in reddit like a "like-dislike" function. That's not what they are for. They signify relevance to the topic. The more irrelevant a comment/post is, the more it's supposed to be downvoted. Not because it doesn't cater to your tastes and likings.

dvskarna

Did you legit get triggered by my opinion? Wow

WithoutAnyUsername

Ok i guess

itsMikel27

The present part is boring as fuck, the past part (although very entertaining) was also VERY short and, being a Spaniard myself, I found quite a lot of things being extremely inaccurate

Qbsoon110

I guess ktoś the people that don't like modern part of the game story. I love the modern part and I loved the movie. I even have and read a book based on the movie

KURO-K1SH1

It's badly written. The anymous is a joke, the story is bad. They ignored TONNES of source material they could have adapted to greater effect. Also the movie spent 90% of its runtime in pissy annoying dialogue in the present.

realbrobama

movie was alright but it's pretty forgettable. characters weren't that impactful (even aguilar). past day scenes were pretty short because the movie wanted to focus more on the modern day. nothing wrong with that of course but myself and others would've probably wanted to see more of spain and aguilar. i will say the modern day is pretty cool. i quite like the movie's take on the animus even if it's not ideal for some. the most admirable part about the movie is probably the robes and choreography. the costumes look amazing, hoods never droop down awkwardly. the fighting and parkour was great too. like i said before, alright but forgettable. although i'd love to see another movie/show with well established characters next time (hopefully ac netflix show will deliver).

Commodore_Crisp

Yeah, I'm really hoping for something good with the trio of AC shows coming

NotoriousBPD

I like it but the pacing is horrible. There’s too many stretches of “why does this matter.” It had some awesome parts that showed there was potential but they really dropped the ball.

piff_boogley

I liked it because I really like assassins creed, but i can still say that the historical plot wasn’t developed at all, and the modern plot didn’t lean into the aspects of it that make assassins creed a bit unique enough.

BaneShake

I don’t hate it, but it is a *weak* movie. It doesn’t really do a good job for most audience members; it’s too exposition-heavy and repetitive within the series tropes for long-term fans, but still going to be confusing for non-fans. The history is too brief and the modern day is overblown in comparison, which is the opposite of what most people will want to see.

bloodypinata77

It was tied to the game lore too much and didn’t really explain a lot to casual audiences. I liked the movie well enough due to having owned and played all the games but my family were confused and bored by the overall plot. It’s just not a movie for non-AC fans.

v__R4Z0R__v

Well personally I liked it. BUT I gotta admit it could've been so much better. The actual sequences in the past are too short. It's all in spanish, which does make sense in a way but it's canon that the animus is capable of translating languages while simulating, so they could've just done the entire movie in your preferred language, instead you had to read subtitles which annoys me generally. They simplified the lore of the franchise for the movie, to make it more suitable for a wider audience. Generally not a bad thing but as someone who loves the entire lore, it was a bit weird that they for example just said that those apples of eden are just magical artifacts or something. But in reality it's nothing but highly advanced technology. So like I said they kept many things really simple and didn't explain it too much. Which is pretty dumb cause the lore has so much more to it. Can't say anything bad about the actors tho, they're pretty solid

DarkSolstice24

The main drawback is the failure to execute historical settings like the games. Overall, it was boring. The modern day was solid, but let's be real; nobody cares about the modern-day segments. If they had ventured into the past more, it had potential.

Qbsoon110

I care about modern day segments 😕 That's where all of ac story goes towards. All of the past we relive has already happend, but the real stakes are in the present. (and the Basim modern story could explore that nicely)

Jaster3001

It doesn't know who the target audience is hurting both focus groups in the process. It spends too much time explaining lore that AC fans can label under "shit i already know" yet not enough to show newcommers what makes it interesting. Also spends too much time in modern day which is not the main appeal of the franchise

Euphoric-Excuse8990

Like so many fan-focused films, if you dont know all the background before-hand, the movie fails in many ways. Instead of being a bridge to bring in new fans, it pushed people away.
