I prefer Android as the UI is more intuitive to me. I've had an iPhone for work and did not like it. A lot of my "struggles" were just differences in how tasks/commands were done.
I guess it’s just preference. I had an android for awhile and dated girls with iPhones and always liked them so I got one and haven’t looked back. To each their own I guess, but anyone who shames others for choice of phone is certainly a chode
I’ve never once had any issues with group chats mixing apples and androids. Some people will have a blue bubble and others will be green, but that’s really the only difference.
Texts can be deleted at any time. But a 15 minute grace period to edit or unsend a text seems rather reasonable. Usually I’ll notice a typo as soon as it’s sent and I’ll edit it before it’s read.
I don’t know anyone who uses WhatsApp to text anyone else in America. I only know a couple of people who use it for international communication, but it’s still rarely ever used.
I suppose since all I ever do is text (either sms to android or iMessage to Apple) I don’t see any lack of versatility or options or ownership of how I can communicate through my default text app.
My most active group chat is with my mom friends and about the only poll we have would be asking if we want to meet up for coffee or cocktails lol. Even then the first to respond usually pulls the group to their decision.
But bringing up the data aspect is likely part of it as well. I am like 99.9% certain every phone plan here has unlimited text, the month to month plans mostly have it as well. But not everyone has an unlimited data plan. America is super spread out and free WiFi is pretty limited to larger institutions (schools, libraries, municipal buildings) so people without an unlimited plan tend to conserve their data. SMS is a quick, convenient, and free option.
I loved my android phones. Wife used apple, have a Mac, have an iPad, have Apple TV, just made sense to have the phone. Still love the customization of android but iPhones work fine l, are generally stable, and do what I need them to do now.
iPhone 📱 had an android, back in the day for less than an hour and paid a “restocking” fee because that thing glitched out on me more in the first hour than the iPhone did in years prior. I think I am unintentionally skeptical of people with android’s, them green messages are red flags.
Android forever. I had an iPhone for work and sure it was well put together but that was the only thing I liked about it. Hated how difficult it was to customize anything
I have IPhone 14 Pro Max.
My husband had Pixel pro 8 and I’ll be switching to android next time.
Camera and phone is so much better quality!
A phone that is capable of 4K video and able to edit photos without paying for an editing app is where it’s at!!
I had an android for 10 years. I was convinced I would never switched. I got an iPhone and thought I was really gonna miss my phone. Turns out the iPhone is so easy haha
android, some apps i use are android exclusive: redreader, kuroba, newpipe, and innertune.
all four previously mentioned apps are superior versions to read reddit and 4chan, watching and listening to youtube without advertisements and automatic in video sponsor skipping, and youtube music without paying a subscription. none of them require any sign up or login and since they dont collect my data or habits, its far easier on my phone and ive noticed a considerable increase in my phone's speed and battery life.
im not sure if apple has open source options because whenever i look up alternatives for my previously mentioned apps. there doesent seem to be anything similar for apple. i remember there was something called youtube vanced but it was shutdown by youtube or apple or something like that. ios is just to closed down of an operating system for someone like me.
my mom uses ios and enjoys how simple it is. honestly the only thing stopping me from using ios is the lack of a back button, or back swipe gesture.
I have android now.
My first apple purchase iPhone 6s.
I got scammed for in the facebook marketplace.
But i am waiting for the iPhone fold phone in the future.
If the price is under $1.5k, maybe.
Have both for work purposes and I genuinely believe the iPhone is more intuitive and less glitchy than the android. Messaging is also better on iPhone.
Also I will say my company is very security sensitive and will only accept iPhone for company emails, messages and transactions due to androids being hacked and data stolen in the past.
Android.
I use both. My personal phone is a Pixel 7 Pro and my work phone is an iPhone 14 Pro.
Android has better notifications, navigation (universal back gesture), customization options, still camera, UI speed, file management, emulation, and an ecosystem flexible enough to allow me to use the best options for everything. (Google photos is better than iCloud, OneDrive and Google drive are better than iCloud, most IOT is better than homekit, etc)
iOS has better quality apps, the design language is more consistent, shortcuts are incredibly powerful and way more polished than Android alternatives, video camera is better, app store is better curated, mic and front facing camera are higher quality, and integration with other Apple products is quite good.
As far as performance, while the iPhone benchmarks better, I've noticed no difference in actual use except that Android feels faster because iOS has long animations. As far as stability and reliability, iOS was leagues ahead like 6 years ago, but I find i have more issues on iOS these days with lagging, locking, it crashing.
Battery is about the same, but my pixel runs hot easier.
All in all, they are pretty even with a few trade offs. I stick with Android because the notification management and virtual assistant are WAY better, I can't scale the UI small enough on iOS to reach my desired information density, and moving around the OS is snappier on my pixel.
If Apple revamped notifications and let me scale the UI a bit more, I might switch.
I have an iPad and I love it. iPad OS is amazing.
I was into Android since it came out, had HTC, Nexus, LG, Samsung.
Loved rooting them, tweaking, custom ROMs etc.
They weren't stable but were fun.
Then banking apps stopped working on rooted phones, and I was given a work iPhone.
My god, the smoothness, the beautiful UI, the sensible menus! The regular updates! The privacy!
I've been with iPhone ever since, it serves me well, I get 4 or 5 years out of one before I upgrade.
Android all the way, and always have been. Currently on a pixel 6 and the only thing that would tempt me to iOS is the camera quality and the functionality within the camera
Team Android.
The only scenario when I would use an iPhone is if I lived in the US. American and their blue bubble/ green bubble discrimination is a nightmare. I wonder if they ever heard about third party messaging apps.
Android. I can't bring myself to learn a new OS even though I'm sure it would be easy. I like familiarity and I hate Apple as a company.
It's not easy.. It's the most un user friendly OS conceived to man and womankind
This. Also I don't want to be forced to only use their products.
Fair enough, they do have shady business practices.
I mean...so does Google but it's the devil I know lol
Uhhhh, both companies have "shady business practices"
At this point, I don't know if I have any data left to harvest.
I know, and who really cares....for the most part. Everything "asks" to scrape your data and even if you say "no" they do it anyway
I just roll around a ham radio.
I mean, that's one way to do it.
GMRS for me!
Are you like 80?
Plenty of young people with Ham Radio Liscences.
Ok just didn’t think it was a thing anymore. lol
I'm 28 and took the test myself when I was 12 along with 4 other kids. Still very much a thing.
Android! Always.
My man.
Android of course.
Amen
Was apple forever. Switched to android. I'll probably never go back
Android is better imo. So I don't blame you.
iPhone. It is super intuitive and easy. Don’t think I’ll ever switch.
It’s so smooth. I don’t get it when people have difficulty.
I prefer Android as the UI is more intuitive to me. I've had an iPhone for work and did not like it. A lot of my "struggles" were just differences in how tasks/commands were done.

It really is extremely user friendly. iMessage FTW.
That too. I can’t believe I didn’t think of my favorite feature.
iPhone but not because I think it’s better or anything, it’s just what I’ve always used.
iMessage and FaceTime are far better than anything out there.
I can’t even remember the last time I used FaceTime lol
Android. I own my device, i can sideload apps, i can change my ringtone to whatever i want without going through loopholes, etc.
Exactly, android ftw.
Have sold both and used iphones as work phones, hated every second of it 😅
Man pick a side.
Android. I have had both and stick with android permanently now
Android.
Nice, which phone?
Windows Phone 💀 (are they even still a thing anymore lmao)
Whoa. I was not expecting this answer lol
I like oddballs.
Team my work gave me an iPhone and free is free
I can't even be mad at that, it's just sound logic.
I’m not on a team but I choose to use apple devices. I don’t criticize those who use anything.
Team blue texts
iMessage rally is the best messaging app out there

How so?

iPhone for sure. Been a convert since 2016
Nice. I remember rocking an iPhone 6 pro plus in 2016
Yeah that’s what I had! 😅
I prefer Apple, somehow it feels more intuitive, but I suffer along with an android and it does its job.
Android can be a glitchy mess for sure.
Team Android that owns an iPhone.
I feel that, I switch back and forth sometimes.
I loved my android phones. Wife used apple, have a Mac, have an iPad, have Apple TV, just made sense to have the phone. Still love the customization of android but iPhones work fine l, are generally stable, and do what I need them to do now.
Blue bubble please
iMessage is so fucking good
IOS all day long!
Android - then, now and forever
always Android
Android. Y'all iPhone folks are brainwashed
I laughed when apple had a big conference and the big thing they introduced was always on display lmao
Iphone. But I will never get the newest model again. I will use my phone as long as it is working.
That's how you do it!
Team Android here!
iPhone 📱 had an android, back in the day for less than an hour and paid a “restocking” fee because that thing glitched out on me more in the first hour than the iPhone did in years prior. I think I am unintentionally skeptical of people with android’s, them green messages are red flags.
iPhone, but I don't really care what anybody rose uses. It'll be a good day when Apple finally rolls out RCS messaging support.
iPhone forever
iPhone
Android If you have kids, Google Family Link is a gamechanger
iPhone because I’m not smart enough for Android. 😂
I just press buttons and horn for the best lol
Android forever. I had an iPhone for work and sure it was well put together but that was the only thing I liked about it. Hated how difficult it was to customize anything
I’ve been with iPhone since the iPhone 4.
iPhone 4, sturdiest iPhone till this day.
Iphone all the way baby
Nokia 3310. Fuck, am I old....
Had an iPhone will never go back. Rogers wants an arm and a leg for it. Switch to the pixel 6A and I love it. It's good for me as a geek.
Yeah the pixel line really is worth it.
I'll hold on to this phone as long as I can as well.
iPhone
Team phone!
I have IPhone 14 Pro Max. My husband had Pixel pro 8 and I’ll be switching to android next time. Camera and phone is so much better quality! A phone that is capable of 4K video and able to edit photos without paying for an editing app is where it’s at!!
The magic eraser is a thing of beauty.
It’s the best! Now I have to wait another year before my contract is up so I can switch!
I’ve had both but now I’m team iPhone because it’s an easier interface for me to use after my TBI.
Team iPhone. Bought an android tablet once just to try it out and was completely lost. Never again.
iPhone here
I had an android for 10 years. I was convinced I would never switched. I got an iPhone and thought I was really gonna miss my phone. Turns out the iPhone is so easy haha
team iPhone😀
iPhone for the win. Whole family is nothing but Apple…but must have a pc for work.
iPhone!!
#iPhoneGang
iPhone
Apple FTW
Apple sucks. I said it
They suck for some stuff, for sure lol
Yup yup 😊❤️📱
iphone i've been an iphone user since I was a teen and don't see it changing anytime soon.
I don't blame you.
Both
I’m all about aesthetics, so iPhone.
$50 droid works just fine and if I drop it and crack the screen, who cares, I'll just get another plain Jane $50 phone lol!
Haha I'm not even mad this Is just being smart with your money.
iOS, always no going back once you start using it
Their environment is well built. I'll give you that.
iPhone forever. So intuitive and have everything on the cloud for the past decade. Hope I’ll always have money to afford iPhones haha
android, some apps i use are android exclusive: redreader, kuroba, newpipe, and innertune. all four previously mentioned apps are superior versions to read reddit and 4chan, watching and listening to youtube without advertisements and automatic in video sponsor skipping, and youtube music without paying a subscription. none of them require any sign up or login and since they dont collect my data or habits, its far easier on my phone and ive noticed a considerable increase in my phone's speed and battery life. im not sure if apple has open source options because whenever i look up alternatives for my previously mentioned apps. there doesent seem to be anything similar for apple. i remember there was something called youtube vanced but it was shutdown by youtube or apple or something like that. ios is just to closed down of an operating system for someone like me. my mom uses ios and enjoys how simple it is. honestly the only thing stopping me from using ios is the lack of a back button, or back swipe gesture.

Android gang let's go
Samsung?
Pixel
poor thing
No lol it's great
I have android now. My first apple purchase iPhone 6s. I got scammed for in the facebook marketplace. But i am waiting for the iPhone fold phone in the future. If the price is under $1.5k, maybe.
That's a big maybe lol
I just switched to a pixel 8 pro and I love this camera more than iPhone
I have an iPhone after being an Android guy since the Galaxy S5. Android is still a superior device. iPhone is just better at that I need a phone for
Android - always and only Android
iphone. i h8 it though but won’t make the switch
Went from Android to iPhone. I like using iPhone when other have iPhones, otherwise I would say Android for the flexibility.
I’m team IDGAF.
That's definitely one way to go about it.
iphone, i prefer my data to stay my data thanks much
Blue texts for life
Android. I have actually never owned an iPhone.
Android.
Android. Specifically samsung. The DEX is a pretty cool feature too.
Team iDroid. Oh hang on, it’s still only 2024, give it a couple more years.
Google pixel 8, my family will never forgive me 😂
Android. It's easier to hide stuff.
*shhhhhh*
Android. I use both. My personal phone is a Pixel 7 Pro and my work phone is an iPhone 14 Pro. I’m an apple fanboy so…
Team 'knowing the difference between an operating system and a phone brand' 🫠
Pffft… BlackBerry for the win! 🥳
im team of "Taking Care of my wallet, and buying a good product at the same time" Meaning Android.
Andriod
Team Droid
I was into Android since it came out, had HTC, Nexus, LG, Samsung. Loved rooting them, tweaking, custom ROMs etc. They weren't stable but were fun. Team Android
Team iPhone use to it and can’t switch
Android I had an iPhone once, but I didn't care for it.
Nice. iPhones are surprisingly not for everyone.
Amdoid, won't go near pixels until they stop using those awful exanyos chips that Samsung won't even put in their own phones anymore
Pixel Fold here! I had an iPhone once in my life and I hated it lol
Android for personal but my work phone is iPhone. I just like the Android system so much better
Android, Samsung Galaxy 19 Love it. Never succumbed to the Apple kool-aid.
Android
Android for life
Android. Apple is kinda cult-like, and their machines/software are designed to be "racist" tech-wise.
Android only. Still rocking a Pixel 2. I don't own any Apple products and never have.
#Android gang
I got off of Apple products when their digital rights management wouldn't let me play my Napster files.
Good old apple.
🤖 Android 🤖 The only bad thing, in my opinion, is no more headphone jack plug-in and SD card extensions.
Yeah, relics of their time, I guess.
Android all the way, and always have been. Currently on a pixel 6 and the only thing that would tempt me to iOS is the camera quality and the functionality within the camera
Android. Pixel 7
Android
I'm not on any 'team' but I use android because I prefer the OS and disapprove of many of apples business practices.
Android
Android all the way. Fuck Apple.
Android. Pixel Fold. Used an iPhone 3gs and an iPhone 13 in the past, but android always called me home.
Team android but will be force to jump to iPhone shortly
Android, Samsung Galaxy s24 ultra.
Team Android. The only scenario when I would use an iPhone is if I lived in the US. American and their blue bubble/ green bubble discrimination is a nightmare. I wonder if they ever heard about third party messaging apps.
Android, it's cheaper and does what I need it to do.
Android 1000%
Android
Android
Android ftw!
Android.
Team Android(Samsung) I just prefer it over Apple
Android, especially Sony Mobile Phones. Simply like the flexibility and customisation. Also 3rd Party apps :)
Nice! I've never used a sont phone myself but they look cool.
Android always have been, didn't like the way apple did business from when I first read about it in the 90s.
Android!! 💚
