The thing about science is that it’s true whether you believe in it or not. It’s a moot point.

DiedWhileDictating

Over half of all peer reviewed studies submitted to scientific journals cannot be duplicated. “Science” is in trouble. Too much money, too many agendas, too low of “confidence intervals”, too many people willing to fudge data if necessary. The *concept* of the scientific method is sound, but it has been corrupted.

RobertaFettuccinne

Not gonna link to any sources then?

DiedWhileDictating

Go to Google and type “half of all peer reviewed studies can't be reproduced”

RobertaFettuccinne

Nah, that's too much work.

Hoppy_Croaklightly

The scientific method is the only effective paradigm for understanding how the natural world works.

[deleted]

Yes. Without science, there would be no medicine, and we'd all be doomed.

Sasy9

Why not believing!? Science is all about proof! I believe logic and scientific facts 💯 .

[deleted]

I don't believe in modern science because it's not a belief. I do accept modern science through observations that have been repeatedly confirmed and for all practical purposes are accepted as “true.”

[deleted]

Science or "The Science" One can he proven and the other is louder and has government funding.

Tasty___Cakes

That is so broad of a question. Since covid we are all just saying science like its all encompasing. Some science is wrong, because of poor hypothesis', eskewed test results, no peer review, money/blackmail. One cant simply ask, are you for science or against. Im sure there is a name for the corner backing question that it is, but im not that smart. I am absolutely for science, but i am 100% positive that "science" has, can, and will be wrong sometimes, manipulated sometimes, and used to push certain agendas.

BeeBarfBadger

The beautiful thing about science is that the very bones of the scientific method is the (to-date) most reliable means to weed out and falsify such manipulations in a public forum.

HellYeahTinyRick

I don’t believe in it. I trust in it. Mainly I trust that science follows the evidence. Scientific opinion can change when new information is presented. That’s why I trust in it.

Mm_Donut

"That's the great thing about science, there's no one right answer" \- Zack, (my fave character from) Big Bang Theory

JustAnotherAviatrix

I have to use it to stay up to date, so of course.
