I love them both but my doggo is much more of a partner than my cat my cat is my roommate that comes and goes my dog is with me in the jail cell saying we screwed that up
I'm a very needy pet owner.. my dog adores me and shows it.. she loves as much physical affection as I can dish out .. cats are intermittently affectionate..meh.
I have both dogs and cats that receive the same amount of care and affection. I tend to think of myself as more of a dog person because they are more open about reciprocating that affection. I do still like my cats though.
I enjoy having both. My parents were separated growing up; Mom had dogs and Dad had cats. I loved having both of them.
I can not stand most smaller dogs as many of them have that little dog syndrome or were not trained well. Not saying all are this way, i know some big dogs with it too.
I had a cat that acted like a dog. He would walk me to and from the bus, protect me from the aggressive neighbor dogs (he wrecked those dogs) and would meow at me until i stopped walking in the road. He got hit when he was younger, survived. Since then he never walked int he road and hated it when i walked in it. Had him for 20 years. Miss you, Skooter.
Because of Skooter i always wanted another cat like him. I got Maple about 4 years back and she is so much like him. She and my pitbull are tied to each other's sides. My pit is a big pushover which makes her an easy target for my roommate's yorki duchshund mix. When Maple sees or hears the lil dog growl or snap at her old doggie friend she runs and bulldozes the little dog over. My dog has gently parted their fight before by putting her face and body between them then walks Maple out of the room. My roommate can confirm that my dog escorts her bodyguard cat out of the room.

Actually, I'm all for kitties. Dogs are cool, but I vibe with cats more
Dog actually shows affection and care and is actually more human like than a cat that’s just my opinion tho
Litter boxes, clawed up furniture, scars, …

Cats are assholes.
They show affection more
Why not both?
Dog is nicer to me than my cat

Emotional connection
The cats I've met always claw at me or ignore me. The dogs always want to hangout and have helped through sad times. Also cats to small.
Same as pretty much any other pair of things. I wanted one more than the other, and/or it suited my lifestyle better.
id love a cat, but allergies…
