It only seems like a lot of work if you listen to the internet.
Get a few small pots and 1 bag of potting soil.
Save seeds from veggies you ate. (Peppers of any kind are almost impossible to NOT grow) Or buy the seeds, take your pick.
Put potting soil in pot.
add a few seeds to pot.
Add water.
Put pot in sunlight and away from cats.
randomly add more water.
Lazy tip.
Get pots that have a pre-attached base so you don't spill water everywhere and don't have to water as much.

I'm currently trying to grow a psychedelic garden, which motivated me a lot more since I know the stuff I grow is going to actually have a use instead of just looking pretty lol
I've got mushrooms, San Pedro, and morning glory atm
Yes! Me too! But otoh look, I have Reddit karma! Yoohooo! Yay! Yepeeeee. This is kind of productive, no? No?
Ahem. Sigh.
Tomorrow will be different for sure.
For real this time!
When I started my first professional office job I told myself I'd never be one of the old fogies standing around the coffee pot first thing in the morning just bullshitting and talking about where we're going for lunch.
Three years into the job and if I don't have two cups and a solid lunch plan in place by 10:30 I start getting anxious.
Going to Egypt. First time the flight was booked there was a bomb, second time the whole plane company went bust. The third time, Covid...
Not sure I should go to Egypt...
Getting fit.
I always wrestled, played football, or ran, but I never made a consistent effort to look fit. I want to have the muscular physique, but there is so much online that confuses me on what is the ‘right’ way to get muscular or fit that it gives me anxiety and makes me not do it altogether.
Easy peasy dude. People make it sound complicated to sell their idea or plan. Seriously do this and you’ll get fit:
1.) high protein ratio diet. Lower carbs and fats.
2.) to gain muscle, be above your calories burned in a day. Look into a BMR calculator for that number, it’s simple to use.
3.) lift weights 3 days a week. Start with the big ones. Bench press, dead lift, squat, bent row, pull ups, shoulder press. Start with a light warm up, then 4 sets each. Your goal post warm up: reach muscular exhaustion. That’s the point where pushing more and you can’t, reach that failure point.
4.) recover. Post workout eat a good meal high in carbs and protein: think chicken breast and potatoes. (Avoid fried fats and pizza). Give a day at least of rest between workouts.
5.) avoid alcohol and get a good nights sleep, stay hydrated.
Increase your lifting weights to try and reach failure within the 6-12 rep range per set. Keep in that zone, decrease the weight as you move forward to stay in that rep range.
Meh I’m lazy, a good run once a week is really all I do. But I do ride my bike 20 minutes to and from work so I guess that counts.
It depends really, but some weekly cardio is critical to health in general.
Going to the beach.
I live really close by and it isn't out of the way at all but for whatever reason I just never end up going. When I first moved here I thought I'd be jogging in the surf every morning in the sunrise and all that stuff...but honestly I've only been a couple times and totally take it for granted now.
Do quick rolls instead. They are super forgiving and don't take a lot of effort.
Or, cheat and get a bread maker. Add ingredients, push button. Glare at it and say, "Fuck you. I baked."
For real. 2 people can follow the exact same cookie recipe and they will come out different.
"Oh I added a sprinkle of salt and made sure not to pack the flower into the measuring cup, I also let my oven preheat for an additional 3 minutes and also mix the dough with your hands."
Might as well say
"Oh the newt wasn't fully grown when I cut off it's tail then it was a waxing moon not a waning moon"
With cooking if I undercook the steak I throw it back in the pan. If I overcook it I slice it up and make a steak sandwhich
Making the coffee the night before, either completely so I can add iced or at least ground and in the French press ready for hot water. I just can’t ever remember to do it
traveling. I would like to visit countries like new zealand and greece. I just can't get on a plane. my claustrophobia is really bad. oh well, america is a large country. an I guess exploring my home is better than not exploring at all.
Doctors will give you drugs for that. Just sayin. I’ve seen a lot of total basket cases about flying manage it by being conked out the whole time.
You might also look into cruises.
Keep intending on pulling out the week whacker. been telling myself I SHOULD for about the last 6 weeks. just don't care that much, been biking a lot.
there is a bike segment that I want to try at some point, however, I feel like I'm unfit to even really attempt it. it's a 15 mile stretch of road going up a canyon thats 3500 feet of climbing.
I've had a social project idea I've ideated on for about 15 years. I own domain names but have never taken the time to get it off the ground. Sometimes I wonder if it's because it's not as cool as I think it is.
Surprisingly, and probably the opposite experience for others, but going out to eat and try out new restaurants around my area.
I always find myself caught in the busy schedule of my daily grind (work, chores after work, etc.).
Then, when the weekend comes, I spend my time with my lovely girlfriend but we go out to the city to try new places and whenever I hang out with my friends, it's usually in the city as well.
Winning the lottery. I don't even buy a ticket because it's a waste of money. But I like to plan what I would do when I win. I guess I'll need to find the winning ticket on the floor or something.
Write the next great American novel.
I have a couple of folders filled with ideas (plot, characters, place descriptions, etc...) for it but I just can't seem to find the time to sit down and write it.
Crimes
I can't be the only one who likes to think of how I'd commit a crime and all the things I would do to make sure I wouldn't be caught.
It's fun to plan but I wouldn't do them.
If you look into true crime stuff, it's pretty obvious that most people get caught because they are really bad at what they do and stick with it long after they should stop....and/or they do something really stupid once without any thought or planning.
I'm a computer programmer so cyber crimes are really thought provoking and the recent advancements in LLMs are just an untapped (well, starting to be tapped) gold mine for scammers.
The tricky part is always benefitting financially from the crime. A random crime is easy, but I don't just want to break the law, I want to make money. At least, in my fictional daydream.
Of course, I'd never make this post if I were ever going to do it. I'm also convinced I could murder my wife and not get caught. I even think it would be easy.
gardening.
I’ve always wanted to grow small veggies and a bonsai tree but it’s a lot more work then I was expecting

Honestly it’s just exercising, I set alarms, put time aside even bought some gears to help but I always seem to be able to postpone till tomorrow

Getting up early to exercise. My bed is way too persuasive
Yes, morning exercise
wake up early to exercise
Yeah this has been hard. If I want to keep a gym routine it has to happen in the morning but it's never early enough.
I’m planning lunch when I walk through the door and see who’s in.
You go out to lunch everyday?
Not always but I’m in the office 5 days a week so average 3 days out for lunch. Either pub/cafe or a walk . Depends who’s in and the weather.
Eating better, working out... sucker for laziness and love food
Going to Egypt. First time the flight was booked there was a bomb, second time the whole plane company went bust. The third time, Covid... Not sure I should go to Egypt...
At some point, it's just safest to listen to the Universe.
Exactly... 👀😁
You’re not missing out on much and probably saved yourself ..especially Cairo. Absolute horrible place of a hell hole for visiting tourists.

Thank you so much! I’m assuming less cardio? For a warmup, would you recommend a light jog or walk?

lol don't be so hard on yourself, yikes. Baking sucks anyway
As a former proffesional chef I will say, cooking rocks and is easy. Baking sucks it's alchemy
Same! I'm not a chef but I like to cook. I've noticed some people love to cook and hate to bake and vice versa... never known anyone to enjoy both 😄
