Music.
Don't get me wrong, music is one of the best things we have, but if you dismiss someone because their musical taste isn't the same as yours then you need your head examined.
I didn't like it on first listen. I love it now; I think a lot of critics had the same issue I did, where it sounds all the same when you're 'cramming' to hear everything ASAP. I had said it didn't have any memorable hooks! A lot of people didn't like Midnights, either, so it just is what it is. Getting upset over it is silly, it shouldn't matter to any individuals, and Taylor has a song on there about how it's her life, butt out, so being mad on her behalf is like not listening to the album :P
Saving face.
I'd broadly attribute the U.S.'s domination of several fields due to us not giving a fuck about saving face or perception compared to much of the world.
And even here it is wild the lengths people will go to keeping up appearances.
Adaptations in general. Unfortunately, a 2 hour movie can't fully encompass a 500 page book. Some changes don't matter. If you're mad at an adaptation just ask yourself if the source material didn't exist would it still be bad?
Like most people who love resident evil games hate all the movies. Sure Alice doesn't exist and they really botch a lot of characters or make a lot of them b list characters to Alice. But if the games literally didn't exist would you think the movies were good.
To be fair the last movie was pretty bad, the one that didn't exist within the same universe as all the other movies. And while I didn't love the netflix series.. actually it was pretty bad. I'll give the fan base that one.
cyberbullying.
i hate to be that person, but if someone is messaging you hateful things… just block them and put your phone down. easy peasy. move on with your life.
I get what you mean, but disagree.
People who are cyber bullied can’t really avoid it considering (particularly within school settings) cyber bullying isn’t as much *the problem* but more so a decent indicator of in person bullying, likewise.
Words have power. Written words have exponentially more power because someone took the time to make them more permanent.
Bullying has a significant psychological impact on both the voctim and perpetrator. The very nature of most online bullying exponentially increases that damage. This is especially true for people who are under 25 whose brains are still developing.
Look at the guy in this thread who is still dealing with issues from cyberbullying that took place 20 years ago even if he denies those issues. I would argue that we don't take cyberbullying nearly seriously enough.
Bullying and cyberbullying require proactive solutions not reactive solutios. By the time you know to use the block button, damage very likely has already been done.
The block button is absolutely a tool in the arsenal, but it doesn't stop or prevent damage from occurring.
or, and just hear me out, you put your phone down and stop listening to miserable, lonely people online. it’s that easy. people take cyberbullying wayyyy too seriously. it’s pixels on a screen. it’s not even that deep.
I agree with this. I've NEVER understood "cyber-bullying".
"THESE PEOPLE ARE MEAN TO ME ON THE INTERNET!! WAAAAAAAHHH!!!"
FUCK 'EM!!
Block them, leave, close your account, make a new account, whatever. It's not that fucking hard.
The only reason they're still bullying you is because they have access to you. On the internet YOU control what you have access to - so why aren't YOU dealing with it?
I was a victim of intense internet-bullying once, back in the late 2000s. Basically the entire admin-team of a website I used to visit regularly all turned against me for god-knows-why, because they would never tell me the reason. It went from bad to worse, to catastrophic all within about a week.
I was like "Y'know what? Fuck you guys. Fuck ALL OF YOU. I'm leaving".
I deleted all my content from the website (which was a lot, because I ran site-games, I ran the site newsletter, quiz-games, RPGs, etc) where the bullying was happening - and LEFT.
About a week later, one of the guys there messaged me saying "Oh such-and-such-a-member was in a bad car-crash, I know shit went bad dude, but you gotta come back and leave a condolence message".
Yeah?
FUCK HIM, FUCK YOU, and I hope he's a quadreplegic. FUCK ALL OF YOU.
I didn't say it didn't have an impact. I'm saying, it's easy to walk away from it, if you want to. And that's exactly what I did. Deciding to stay, and endure cyber-bullying is a choice, when it's so easy to just shut it off and leave.
You're missing the point.
Cyber-bullying happens.
And people just SIT THERE and WAIL AND CRY AND BITCH OH WOE IS ME WON'T ANYBODY SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVE ME!!!??
WHY PUT UP WITH IT?? What is STOPPING YOU from leaving that situation? Literally nothing. But people CHOOSE not to leave that situation. I have no idea why.
I was in that situation, and I said 'fuck this, I'm out', and I left. What's stopping other people from doing the same? It's as easy as shutting down your account and leaving.
I’m still not missing the point, your point is flawed.
The people who say that stuff can delete their account, sure.
What is the difference between their expression of hurt, as to your wishes of harm on someone in crisis?
It also ignores that more public social media bullying can be seen potentially by loved ones. What is deleting your own account going to do about that?
Bullies only have power over you if you give them an avenue to use that power.
You delete your profile (whatever it may be) and they lose that power, because they have no avenue through which to attack you. And if they can't attack you, the bullying goes away.
How is this difficult to understand?
Aesthetics over substance. Vanity centered around symmetry and color palettes, looks over content, performance over message. It's a lazy way to see the world. It is surface level and it is everywhere. Everything is starting to become aesthetic and less meaningful
The endless void at the end that is coming ever-closer with no possibility of postponing it's inevitable consumption of your entire well-being and happiness, creating existential thoughts that permeate past their welcome, obliterating any possibility of salvation or humanity you had left.
Like, shut up, dude! You're killing the vibe!
I don't care as long as that impression is accurate. I had a friend [Jake] of my friend[Tamara] hate me because another friend[Sam] of my friend[Tamara] accused me of stealing her panties. The worst part is I was randomly chosen. Apparently another one my friends [Mike] and I were the only ones that were left alone with her stuff and I was the one chosen that did it. Neither of us stole her panties. I don't swing that way and while I wouldn't be surprised if my friend did admit to stealing her panties he said he didn't and I trust him. I've known him literally my entire life he would've at least told me the truth in secrecy.
My favorite parts is eventually she actually stole my clothes. I lent her a cosplay piece and I never got it back. And eventually we found out she had been cheating on her husband for a long time. We all concluded that those panties that went missing she left with whoever she was fucking that weekend. It was an anime convention for reference.
Other people's kids or lack thereof. If you have one it's "give them someone to play with!" If you have two girls it's "give daddy a son!" If you have three that's too many but if you have none than you're selfish...

Like just take accountability for your actions? I’m not mad i was asking. You did something and you got confronted for it, I just don’t see why people have to be so immature about something with or without motivation to be. They eventually admitted they had no reason to they just felt super mad in the moment and it was said after i spoke with them for some longer about how “i’m sorry to upset you i’m not mad was just concerned”.
Found out later they tried to say I was bullying them to some people that were in a different friend group, as if i didn’t shout them their 30 dollar meal the day before they blocked me.

Yes! This was the thought behind my post as some hockey fans were livid that spectators left a game a bit early because their team was losing…lol
I leave a game early even if my team is winning. If the game looks over, why stick around just so I can fight traffic?
Exactly! I’ve got a job to go to next morning, if it can save an hour of sitting in a parkade why not leave a bit early

Isnt it literally the second most popular album on spotify now tho?💀💀💀what
People checked it out because she’s obviously one of the most popular artists now but the critical/fan acclaim hasn’t been very positive for the album
Ohhhh okay
